The key for the Spurs comes down to one thing -- it's not age, it's not speed, and it's definitely not coaching -- it's a lack of three point shooting. The game has changed in recent years to a point where the teams that have the most success are the teams that have a roster that enables them to have four guys on the floor at all times (or as often as possible) who can knock down an open three on a consistent basis. That's how The Warriors, Cavs, Rockets, and Celtics are all built, and that group of teams is likely to comprise the final four this year, and it's not a coincidence.

The Spurs of 2014 were an outstanding team, probably one of the best ever. And the reason why was largely due to of their three point shooting. Most people probably remember that Danny Green was on fire form three that postseason, but they had a lot of other guys who could knock down an open shot from deep and that made them impossible to stop. As odd as it may sound, a guy like Boris Diaw was a very important piece for them that year because he could play power forward and was knocking down around 40% of his threes at that time.

When  you look at the four teams that are likely to be in the final four, they all have the following elements on their roster: at least one or two very good three point shooters, and at least one power forward who can knock down open threes with consistency. ( i.e. Kevin Love, Draymond Green, Ryan Anderson, Crowder/Olynyk.) The Spurs don't have either, and it's tough to win in the postseason when your roster is built that way, this day and age.

Did you read my whole post? It's not about percentage. It's about having multiple positions, especially the forward positions, be able to defend the other team's forwards, do some rebounding, AND knock down threes. That's the way the game is changing. If you have that element on your roster, you are a step ahead of any team that doesn't have it. And the Spurs don't have it.

The Spurs shoot 39% from three but only make 9 a game. The Rockets shoot 36% but they make 14 a game. If you're calling the Spurs the better three point shooting team based on those numbers, then you are missing the point. 14 threes a game at 36% is FAR preferable to 9 a game at 39%.

Before reading your thread bb I already loaded up Houston-125 (5 units) to win series and now deciding to add 4 more units to Houston, I honestly can't see this series going more than 5 games if no significant injuries to Houston team occurs.  I was on Spurs on game 1 but now seeing how bad Spurs played and how fast Houston's speed was and how good their shooting was I just can't see this series going past 5 games.

 Oh oh boy how quiet it is in this post right now. You're a joke, thinking the spurs are done. Haha, lord... do your research please. I loved reading your post and just laughing at all the dumb comments talking about how the spurs could not keep up with the rockets. 
It's gonna be a great series, don't get me wrong. But for you to write off the spurs after an 0-1 start to a series shows how idiotic you are with your bets.

Nothing has changed. I never said Spurs would not win a game or two, did I? In fact, I was proven right. Parker has so many miles on him that he got hurt (and is most likely out) and LA is not going to improve on his mediocre showing (especially on one leg:) The Spurs had one really good quarter (4th) when they went for the kill and the Rockets did not respond. No big deal. Even if it is 2-2 heading back to SA, Spurs will lose game 5!

It's not only about your prediction. It's your idoitic analysis of how/why the spurs are going to lose. Do some research and stop talking out of your behind. The spurs are "screwed" as you say? Please back it up with some facts. All you're doing so far is giving bad advice to people who fall for your failed personal analysis.
