@melossinglet He averaged 19/6, shooting 48/44/93 as a 22 year old in the nba. How much more developed do you expect a 22 year old in his 2nd year in the nba to be?
Obviously not as developed as a 22 year old that leads his team to a victory in the ECF you imbecile.

You are such an absolute scumbag, man. I bet you predicted the Greek cheat injuring Irving. I bet you predicted Harden pulling his hamstring in game one. 10 things had to break the Bucks way, including Nash having a brain freeze and KD barely stepping over the 3 point line, for the pathetic Bucks to win the series. And you think I was wrong about that series you piece of human garbage?!

Haha, for sure. I'm starting to think these playoffs are the first time they have watched Trae Young. I've watched him since college and this is how he has always played. He's just on a good team that can compete in the eastern conference right now. And the ironic thing was the reason I watched him so much in college and early in the NBA was that I was hoping he'd be the next steph curry or better than him. But he just hasn't improved his shooting. Reminds me more of a less athletic russell westbrook at this point. Today was definitely him at his best though.

its not about what i expect..its about what stage they are at at the same age..and it is CLEAR AND OBVIOUS that trae is a bit further along in his all round development than what curry was....it will likely be impossible to reach the heights curry has reached, unless he can magically improve his shooting by a good number of % points...but taking a snapshot of each at the very same age/stage of their careers its a no-brainer.which should be right up your alley to be fair.its hard to understand how you just dont get it.
you are an example of whats wrong in the world these days.so stubborn and rigid..you probably rushed to a judgement rather hastily without due thought, research and introspection and then when shown that you are very likely incorrect you just dig your heels in like a little child and refuse to budge...in fact repeating that same 48/44/93 "most skilled offensive player of all time" drivel over and over is precisely what a child would do...the equivalent of sticking your fingers in your ears and shouting "na na na na na,cant hear you!!cant hear you!!"
you probably think its "embarrassing" to concede anything or change your mind but believe me,whats happening right now with every great trae performance is faaaaaar more embarrassing for you and your buddy dave.

nobody....and i mean abso-fuggin-lutely NOBODY had this hawks team being up 1-0 in the ECF at any stage of the regular season...yeah they do have some nice young players that look like they are turning into something, but on the talent depth chart every so-called "expert" would have had them around the 8-10 seed spots..and yet now that trae has helped to propel them this far its just cos he is on such an incredible team.....hahaha.cant make this stuff up,just cannot make it up.the excuse making is next level.

hey there, little fella..i find it interesting that you incessantly post stephs numbers for that season and yet you completely omit traes...any reason for that??
well, for the folks playing at home just let me help out a little..
here we go,at age 22 the regular season results are as follows.
oh and obviously trae is CARRYING HIS TEAM on a deep run in the playoffs which gotta count for something,no?hmmmm, wonder if steph ever did that..lemme just check.........NOPE!!!never happened...and for those of you who might scoff at PER there is no perfect stat that encompasses a players all around ability but this is the one most commonly accepted as being the best indicator of a guys worth and overall impact..and neither of these guys are doing much on defense so an offensive number like PER is fairly appropriate here.
kinda interesting that traes PER just for this season is almost the same as what curry has achieved for his CAREER,which sits at 24.0 right now...so based on that trae has had a curry-like year..thats the total accumulative career output of curry, which is pretty damn good obviously.

and for anyone too lazy or dumb to check up on throwdem-lies outrageous claim of curry having basically peaked in skill as a player at the age of 22/23....here is a link illustrating just how much his PER has risen over his career..just remember folks,2010-11 is the year in question here.thats the year that dummies in here are trying to convince us he was better than trae in.

This is probably the first time you've ever actually watched Trae Young. This is exactly how he played in college and his first two years in the NBA. You're a casual fan that thinks it's his progression that made the Hawks good and not the team they built around him. He's always been, a ball heavy point guard, who takes a ridiculous amount of shots and free throws shooting at a poor %. I thought his % would improve which would make him put pressure on Curry as the most skilled offensive player, but he hasn't. So for some of us, this is not the first time we've seen Trae Young play and not at all surprised at the fact he'll have really good games. I mean you better have some good games when you take 34 frikkin shots.

PER is a casual stat. Clint Capela had a higher PER than Trae Young this year... is he better than Trae Young?
Trae young had a higher per last year and scored almost 30 pts a game. The team was trash though. They did a solid job building around Trae Young because with his poor shooting you better make up for it with good shooters around him.

way to focus on ONE specific thing and ignore everything else,haha...youre pretty good at that...bot do what bot do....hilarious how dumb you are..folks must be reading what you spew and just rolling about the floor.......as i just specifically POINTED OUT,there is no perfect statistic to represent overall value but its pretty good and commonly accepted as being accurate most of the time....look who is the highest of all time, jordan and lebron and funnily enough those are the 2 guys most basketball watchers have as the 2 actual best players ever..then dominant all time greats like wilt, shaq, duncan, magic, bird, kareem, olajuwon, curry, durant are all within top 20 PER all time and those are exactly the guys that are included in everyones top 20 all-time player lists.....hmmmm,funny that.its almost like theres a fairly solid correlation, huh?
one thing i know FOR DAMN SURE and thats that if 22 year old curry had better numbers and a better PER than what young has you would be screaming from the rooftops about how important it is.....its absolutely fuggin hysterical how idiots shift the goalposts when they are too stubborn and dumb to admit that they are wrong..in almost EVERY other debate over a player the guy with better overall numbers and team results wins the discussion................look at traes numbers overall right there up above in black and white and his accomplishments as part of a winning team deep in the playoffs.....but no,in this case a moron like you wants to completely discount the numbers or focus ONLY on 48/44/93 like some autistic dope stuck on repeat.
trae has outperformed the other guy by most metrics and through the eye test..HE IS BETTER.YOU LOSE!!!!...good day.

the guy claims that curry was already at his peak skill-wise around the age of 22/23 and yet he calls other people "casuals"
basically every person alive that is familiar with basketball in any way knows that the guy made incredible strides in strength/conditioning,ball-handling,shooting range, passing, finishing in the paint in that time period of 21-25 years old.

"Hollinger argues that each two point field goal made is worth about 1.65 points. A three point field goal made is worth 2.65 points. A missed field goal, though, costs a team 0.72 points. Given these values, with a bit of math we can show that a player will break even on his two point field goal attempts if he hits on 30.4% of these shots. On three pointers the break-even point is 21.4%. If a player exceeds these thresholds, and virtually every NBA player does so with respect to two-point shots, the more he shoots the higher his value in PERs. So a player can be an inefficient scorer and simply inflate his value by taking a large number of shots."
That's for the Trae and Russell Westbrooks out there. Still great players, but not as skilled as the most skilled offensive player to ever play the game. That's silly. Trae better fix his shooting if he ever wants to be on the same level as steph. A poor defending, not super athletic pg who is not even in the top 100 in shooting, is not better than a 22 year old steph. Not even close.

highly unlikely im sure...but pretty dumb to speak in absolutes.
particularly with weird events and outcomes popping up everywhere in the world today, both inside and out of the sporting arena..so many sea-changes with trends flipping around and disruption caused by the new "super" flu......atlanta hoisting the trophy would be just about right, fits real nice in the "trump is president and everyone is wearing masks" timeline that we are existing in.

highly unlikely im sure...but pretty dumb to speak in absolutes.
particularly with weird events and outcomes popping up everywhere in the world today, both inside and out of the sporting arena..so many sea-changes with trends flipping around and disruption caused by the new "super" flu......atlanta hoisting the trophy would be just about right, fits real nice in the "trump is president and everyone is wearing masks" timeline that we are existing in.
@melossinglet "Hollinger argues that each two point field goal made is worth about 1.65 points. So a player can be an inefficient scorer and simply inflate his value by taking a large number of shots." That's for the Trae and Russell Westbrooks out there. Not even close.
..youve been repetitively rambling on for 16 pages now and these 3 words might be the first thing youve gotten right so far...well done..its NOT CLOSE when one guy is a skinny, limited spot-up shooter that cant lead his crappy team even to within a mile of the playoffs......and the other is a 24/10 guy every night that is almost ready to take his fairly average team to the fuggin nba finals.....congrats for recognising the gulf between the 2.
and never getting to the same level as steph is NOT the issue here,he likely will not come close overall.....its only 22 years old we are concerned with and fortunately for the sake of this debate trae got that covered hands down.

This has to be the first time you’ve ever watched Trae. He played this same exact way last year and the team sucked. They went and got him some pieces and they’re on a heck of a run. But a small poor defending, poor shooting point guard is not better at basketball than a 22 year old Steph Curry. Trae has a long way to go. But I have the over so I hope he has one of his rare good shooting nights tonight.
