with all due respect - small advise: do not jump into quick conclusions and consider the following. the spurs were a better team one way or another - okc with ibaka or without. what happened now is just another break in building the 7 game series here as pop and the spurs will be toying with the thunder more than they would with ibaka playing. i know what i think the first game will go to and after consulting with my handicapping mentor and dear friend mk - the chances of the thunder taking game one grew a big deal

Not convinced that the Spurs will toy around with the Thunder, as you put it. If it was Westbrook or Durant sitting out, I'd understand this logic. The Thunder still have 2 of the top ten players in the world and the Spurs have none (unless you consider Parker as top ten). These guys ended the Spur's 19 game win streak. They ousted them from the playoffs in unceremonious fashion. They have beaten them the last 5 times they played. And you think the Spurs are gonna get cute with them and drop game one?

if the logic you're trying to apply here would really work - the pacers, the spurs, the heat and the thunder would be well after two easy 4-0 wins in round one and two. did you really believe that the wizards could tickle the pacers best defensive team? or that the clippers could really take games in okc? memphis taking okc to game seven? nets taking a game away from heat? the hawks taking the pacers to game seven as dallas taking the spurs to game seven? trailblazers taking the game from the spurs? this is nba. it is entertainment and the players are professional players. professional!!! the spurs are in a great form but read what was the bottom line of what i wrote - okc taking game 1!!!

Why am I wasting my time with you people. The Spurs had beaten Dallas the last ten times, they have lost to the Thunder the last five times. Do you see a difference there?

Phix, you simply can't lump all those games together. Each was its own entity. I could get into each one and tell you what I thought would happen and what ended up happening, but that would take a lot of time. Take my word when I say that none of those results (except maybe the Mavs in games 1 and 2) surprised me much, if at all. And I get the fact that the players are professional entertainers! If your argument is that the Spurs will lose this game for entertainment value, then you'll have to explain why, and I'll have to decide if I agree or disagree. But if your argument is that the Spurs will lose because they will not take the Thunder seriously (cause they are missing their 3rd best player) then I'm not buying.
