you kidding me this is the organizatioon that won't fire an incompentent head coach cause they lead the charge in affirmative action if he showned up today they would welcome him with open arms...especially Tomlin.... now NE is a different story..he would be gone..

And the Steelers need to be prepared to miss the playoffs.  Lose/Lose for everyone.  They weren't making the playoffs with Bell and sure as hell aren't without him.  And Bell will make all of that and way more by holding out.  The money he's "losing" right now is erroneous.  Don't be so naive.

Bell is a great player? But dont kid yourself - Steelers got 3 pro bowls on the o-Line - with 1 of the best passing attack in the nfl - before bell arrival the Steelers lead the nfl in rushing 5 straight years - One team that gives zero fcks about RB is New England ?  they still seem 2 win every year - RB is not that important in today’s NFL- case closed !!

I will let you continue to attempt to back up your brinks trucks but this comment from you here is dumb. David Johnson sits out all year last year and gets 30 million guaranteed. Gurley has ONE good year and breaks the bank with over 40 million guaranteed. Bell, who has had multiple great years in arguably the best offense in football gets 10 million guaranteed from the Steelers? Listen to James Harrison speak about the Steelers organization. It reminded me of my Bears doing Urlacher the way they did in his last year. Bell is only asking for what he’s worth and to not be paid as the highest back in the league....that’s ridiculous. He’s been in the league for 4-5 years and still has a good 4 left in him at that level imo. Zeke will be due a huge contract as as great as he is, he’s been suspended too and has off field issues. He’ll get paid. The Steelers are my organization and I think in this situation with all the talent they have, they are making a monumental mistake here. I think it’s funny how rookies like yourself think you know it all. The owners bank 255 million last year, the Steelers restructure bens contract every year it seems like and they pay AB. If you ask any GM or player in this league, they will tell you Bell is the best back or at least in the top in the league. You pay your best players or you at least structure a contract the right way. Julio Jones, OBJ, these guys get the moon yet a guy who touches the ball more than anyone in the league gets 10 million guaranteed. Bro, wake up. With all due respect, wake up. These players should get theirs and I commend Bell for sitting out. He was franchised last year and had an all pro year. To be franchisee again at his age in that offense? Ridiculous.  Aside from qbs, make me 5 other guys in this league right now who should he getting paid MORE than Bell? Funny how when Sam Bradford or Blake Bortles get 15-20 million, it’s no big deal yet when a proven player wants to be paid respectfully, he gets the cold shoulder.

there’s a reason Pittsburgh and New England is always good - they give zero fcks about paying RB/WR / took the Rooney’s awhile to even pay AB-      RB is the easiest Position to replace in the NFL/ bell would have this much success on another team? Think twice

Name 1 RB New England ever pay in there 5 Super Bowls ? Of course Qb gets paid more then a RB? Steelers willbe fine with James Connor. he's a decent back, runs the tough yards and moves the chains. cant ask for much more even if Bell is a better blocker and reciever...

Leveon is doing exactly what he should...he’s played out his guaranteed $$ and they have pounded him every year and he’s produced. He will soon be the highest paid RB in history and however many games he sits out will only benefit his body...

I know it’s only one game, but Conner showed why Bell isn’t that important to pay that much for. Let a losing team take him and blow all their money on him. I think Pittsburgh is confident that they can get similar production out of Conner, while saving a ton of money in the process for more important positions.

I’m not gonna get lured into your antics and the back and forth but it’s clear when hearing you make your argument, you just don’t get it. Closing argument here and im done. You  ever coached or played the game chief? You think every team prioritizes their importance of positions the same? The answer is no. As for the front office mindset, teams have a cap and with that cap they are forced to spend a certain amount. When looking at the Steelers, you think Ben is worth his contract? Who do you think is more important to the Steelers, AB or Bell? If you watched the game yesterday chief and felt the Steelers didn’t miss bell you are nuts. You see the stat line but did you see the 4th quarter? Conner as good as I think he will be, fumbled late in his own territory thus giving the browns life and 7 points and then he missed a weak side blitz that caused Big Ben to fumble. Bell makes those blocks. Bell also threatens the browns to make decisions on where those safeties line up. When bell is in the game the safeties have to come up and if not, if the Steelers see two safeties high, they pound it or they throw him a screen pass. Who is the best pass catching running back in the league chief? Rhetorical question.....Bell has the capability of breaking big runs, Conner doesn’t. 

And for the comment about NE....NE has arguably the greatest offensive coaching mind since Bill Walsh in Josh McDaniels. They have a system and that system is getting the ball out quick. They don’t rely on running backs the way other teams do but to you that means every other team should follow suit? Really? The Steelers, in case you didn’t know “brinks truck”,let Todd Haley go and are now in a different system. Bell knows this and he’s playing his cards smart. If you were him after the year he had last year and after getting tagged last year and after seeing Gurley get his money, you’d sit too. You think he’s sitting because they didn’t give him exactly what he wanted? Nope. He’s sitting because the number 5 ranked player in all of football voted on by his peers last year, all all alto guy, was given a smack in the face...10 million guaranteed. That’s a joke. 

When people blanket rank certain positions in the NFL, they don’t understand how football works. You watch last nites game chief? Is Mack to the bears not as important as Rodgers is to the packers? What about that o line of the packers who for the second  straight year almost got their qb killed? If I recall that line has two pro bowlers on it yet they are worth their pay and a great running back isn’t? Nobody talks about the obline last nite.....You want to make blanket statements that the positions who should get paid the most are quarterbacks yet I can name you many who make a ton that are nowhere worth it. Nobody says a word though. People wanna freak about Bell asking for his money but then we watch guys like Bortles and Bradford who make more than Bell and it’s not an issue. You say running back is the least important position out there yet you put wide receiver as more important than a running back? Are you kidding me? Who touches the ball more and who has more responsibility pre snap? You contradict yourself by saying corner is the more important position than running back yet do you think what’s what has won the patriots their super bowls and what won the eagles theirs last year....the corner back position? Did the cardinals with PP, the redsins with Josh Norman make the playoffs last year? According to you every team who had a great corner is so much better..... It’s clear from the past and from this thread that you don’t understand football. You can’t make blanket statements on the ranking of positions in the NFL. And lastly, you can’t tell me that guys like gurley and johnson deserve more money than Bell. It’s ok though......you continue doing you chief. I could keep going but I’m gonna move on. The Steelers tied the lowly browns yesterday and if you truly feel Bell in that lineup doesn’t get them that win, that’s all I need to know. Looking forward to the next topic brinks trunk.

Insult to injury, I draft Le'veon with the 2nd pick in our fantasy league, the guy I played against in week 1 snagged Conner before I could get him, he starts Conner who goes for 34 points, Bell is sitting on my bench, and I lose by 3 points.

If they weren't making the playoffs with him in your estimation what's the point in paying him?

What you're saying is, is that he he isn't making a difference.

Yesterday was a typical Steelers early season garbage show, they will wake up, but as usual they will have thrown too many silly games away to have HFA throughout the playoffs and either lose to NE along the line, or turn up looking ahead and poorly prepped as they were against the Jags.

Tomlin is the biggest problem in Pittsburgh, a HC who brings nothing to the table barring some rah rah, that's not good enough in today's NFL which has gone way way beyond 3 yards and a cloud of dust and we'll smack you harder in the mouth than you smack us.

The Steelers will not win another SB until they have a legit defense to mask Tomlin's shortcomings.
