What's up fellas? Back for yet another year of the predictions. I love doing this because I know that I will be WAY off on more than a few selections. The big difference with this year is that I am waiting until all the preseason games have been played. A lot of hype coming into the season about big name players and big name teams...so let's get it started!!
AFC EAST
New York Jets 11-5 (11-5 in 2010)
I like the addition of Plaxico Burress strangely enough. I hate the fact that I think the Jets are going to win the division. The defensive line will be the absolute biggest question mark going into the season...as the loss of Taylor and Ellis will be huge. They also benefit from having the AFC West on the schedule this year. Toughest part will be around Thanksgiving where they play the Pats on the Sunday Night before...and then fly to Denver for the Thursday Night game.
New England Patriots 10-6 (14-2 in 2010)
There will be no questions about their offense once again. Brady is the best QB in the league, they have solid depth at RB, 2 very solid TE's, and possibly the best OL in football. The problem is their defense, and specifically their defensive backs or lack thereof. Releasing Brandon Meriweather is a very interesting decision...and I dont like it. Tough schedule as well, most notably coming out of the bye week with the Steelers, Jets, Giants, and then a short week heading into Philly. Still one of the best teams in the league though, there is no doubt about that.
Miami Dolphins 6-10 (7-9 in 2010)
They were a below average team last year...and in the offseason they did absolutely NOTHING to improve their position. As a matter of fact they gave up 1300 yards of rushing production in Williams and Brown which was only good for 21st last season. Chad Henne just doesn't have a lot of options on the offensive side of the ball outside of Brandon Marshall. Not much coming in for the rookie class...I just can't see them getting many wins this year.
Buffalo Bills 5-11 (4-12 in 2010)
Really solid defense once again. They have a decent defensive line, but just couldn't stop the run last year. I love the defensive backs however, and they won't get blown out of many games from what I can see. The reason why I can't bump them up too many wins over last year is because they have to face a bunch of tough running backs and running teams. If Ryan Fitzpatrick can limit his mistakes...they could bump up to 6 wins.

Best record in the NFL this year will belong to the Steel City. I have them losing one game against the Ravens, and in Week 8 to the Patriots. Other than that they have a cupcake schedule that will provide them with an easy first round bye. No drama with Big Ben this offseason...didn't lose anything in free agency...Antonio Brown is a big play threat in the special teams. I am very big on the Steelers this season.
Baltimore Ravens 10-6 (12-4 in 2010)
Bumped the Steelers up two wins...bumping the Ravens down a couple wins. Only real reason is that the defense is a little bit older of course, and I'm not crazy about their overall depth. They have managed to work through injuries on the defensive side before, but if there is one this year it could really hurt them. Luckily they do have a nice schedule to put together enough wins to make the playoffs.
Cleveland Browns 4-12 (5-11 in 2010)
A year of experience under the belt of McCoy will help...but Hillis is the lucky recipient of the Madden Curse this season, and the Browns have BY FAR the worst defensive line in the NFL. In the AFC North with 4 games against ground and pound teams like the Ravens and Steelers, that's not good. Steinbach being hurt on the offensive line will cost them quite a bit as well.
Cincinnati Bengals 3-13 (4-12 in 2010)
They have some really solid young talent, but this is a rebuilding year. They might be able to hang tight in a bunch of games, but I can't see them pulling out very many.

Disagree with the patriots, their offense, as you said, is amazing but their defence is even better in my opinion and I could see them doing one better than last season. But I'm no expert so don't take my word :)

And I don't think Jets pass-rush will miss the geriatric Ellis-Taylor combo. Our pass rush was bad as is -- going to plug some young guys in there and hope it improves as season rolls on.
You're correct to point pass-rush out as a weakness, but our secondary is also top 3 in NFL. The two go hand in hand. We may not get great pressure on QBs but we are excellent in coverage!

CM, Ravens new-look secondary will be a big issue

bradys the best QB in the league really ? you put him on indy last year they don't wins 2 games
brady was the worst QB in the playoffs the last 2 years, in fact since the pats won their last super bowl even Jake plummer out played and beat brady in a playoff game that's how long its been
brady threw 71% total passes last year 0-10 yds that's all he does , and all he can do that's why he's already won his last playoff game
he cant throw the ball down field like Manning . Rivers, Rogers
pats won their super bowls on the defense not HORIZONTAL TOM who is a media creation, fueled by stupid media people and fans that keep repeating this Brady's great shit

Agreed, Brady is no GOD!!! The same old addage DEFENSE WINS CHAMPIONSHIPS will always hold true even in this pass happy league we now have. Pats will make playoffs as wildcards and go out to Chargers. I see Pitts winning it again in the AFC.....Ben has a chip on his shoulder....missed 4 games last year and without that crap start in the Superbowl then the Steelers would of won

totally agreed !!! brady is overrated !! while he is good, he is a product of the SYSTEM. Look at some of the QB plays under that system... Even BRADY QUINN looked great under "the system" while under Charlie Weis at ND. Look at what Matt Cassell did while Brady was out... He played great under the same system. Would love to see Brady under another coach and see how great HE REALLY IS....

Brady is the reigning MVP and he had 36 TD's and only 4 INT's last year. This isn't the NFL Playoffs Predictions yet...regular season right now...and yes based on the numbers Brady is the best.

Terrible year last year for a team that has a ton of talent. Their defense was bad, although their offense gave them a chance to win every week. Matt Schaub needs to take the next step this year...Arian Foster needs to continue his success from last year. What I like best about this team is the speed on defense. Brandon Harris is a very solid draft pick and should make an immediate impact for the worst secondary in the league last year.
Indianapolis Colts 9-7 (10-6 in 2010)
The questions about Peyton Manning aren't going to go away. I do believe he will be back within the next couple of weeks, and Kerry Collins isn't a terrible replacement, but there are some serious question marks throughout the lineup. Offensive line will rely on rookie Ijalana a lot to protect the blind side....cornerbacks are not terrible, but will face a lot of challenges this season...and if Peyton doesnt' come back for a while or if he gets re-injured it will not be a fun year.
Tennessee Titans 7-9 (6-10 in 2010)
Chris Johnson is back, and there is no better news for the Titans heading into this year. I'm not a huge fan of Hasselbeck for this team as their QB...and I have a feeling Jake Locker will be getting some action before too long. Love their offensive line, which will give CJ plenty of room to run...but their defensive line is below average. 20th against the rush last year probably won't improve this year. Akeem Ayers does have a decent shot to be Defensive ROY.
Jacksonville Jaguars 6-10 (8-8 in 2010)
I don't know why I'm against the Jags this year. Statistically they were one of the worst teams last year in just about everything except for rushing yards...but still went 8-8. Nice offseason picking up Blaine Gabbert and Paul Posluszny. My biggest reason is that MJD has been near the top of the league in carries for the past couple seasons, and that HAS to be taking a toll on him. He was 8th in carries...and missed two games. He had career lows in TD's and Receptions.

Top 5 QB...Top 5 OL...Top 5 TE...and solid WR's. Defense isn't spectacular as far as big names...but they are solid all around and should be pretty close to what they did last year. It's do or die time for the Chargers...the good news is that they have 3 winnable home games in the first four weeks. If they can't get off to a good start...and win a bunch of games in the Oakland, Chicago, Denver, Buffalo, Jacksonville stretch then they should just clean house.
Kansas City Chiefs 8-8 (10-6 in 2010)
Three out of their five non-division road games are brutal (New England, NY Jets, and Indianapolis). Jamaal Charles isn't going to sneak up on anybody this year. Charlie Weis is gone. They still don't have any decent receivers. They are extremely thin at OL with the loss of Waters. I just don't see them doing anything close to what they did last year.
Denver Broncos 5-11 (4-12 in 2010)
Defense murdered this team last year as they gave up almost 30 points per game. Scheduling wasn't as kind to them this season...as they have to face high scoring teams like the Packers and Patriots. They lose Jabar Gaffney and his 60+ receptions...and the OL really isn't as strong as I would like to see for a team that really needs to rush the ball well. I will bump them up one win over last year simply because I can't see their defense being that terrible again.
Oakland Raiders 5-11 (8-8 in 2010)
Jason Campbell did well last year and didnt make that many mistakes...but we all know that this team lives and dies with the ground game. I'm dropping them down 3 wins because they were 2nd in the league last year against the pass. Something tells me that will NOT stay the same. Looking at this secondary and cornerbacks, I would be very surprised if they can be in the top 15.

I'm not sold on Michael Vick as a true superstar QB yet. He had an exceptional year last year mostly because people didn't know how good he would play. This year they know...they can prepare better. Their offense won't be as dynamic as a lot of people think...but their defense is what will carry them. It won't be a "Dream Team" type of situation as Vince Young said...and Andy Reid will have more than his share of opportunities to screw things up...but they are still an incredibly talented team.
Dallas Cowboys 9-7 (6-10 in 2010)
Full year for Garrett...Romo recovered from injury...Dez Bryant no longer a rookie, ready to have a huge year...and they dont really have an impossible schedule. Offense has a ton of weapons, and defense should improve some as well. Problem is they are probably in the toughest division in football. 3-3 in the division would be good.
New York Giants 9-7 (10-6 in 2010)
Solid team throughout the lineup, but I still say they overachieved last season. Eli thinks he is a top-tier QB in the same class as Brady/Rivers/Brees/Rodgers? He has enough weapons at the receiver position, but he is turnover prone for sure. I'm nice enough to give them a record above .500...but no way will they get to 10 wins if they continue to turn the ball over.
Washington Redskins 5-11 (6-10 in 2010)
Dropped them down a win from last year because I don't care who the QB ends up being...Rex Grossman and John Beck aren't enough to help this team. The defense is solid at just about every position and will keep them in games...but they have little to no shot at getting many wins in the last 6-7 weeks....Dallas, @ Seattle, Jets, Patriots, @ Giants, Vikings, @ Eagles.

Injuries prevented the Packers from really showing what they could do last season in the regular season. Being the Super Bowl champions means you get the easiest schedule going into the next season. They should have no problem winning the last 4 games of the year...and if they can handle the Giants on the road in Week 13 they might run off 7 or 8 in a row
Detroit Lions 8-8 (6-10 in 2010)
Offense has gotten better every year....they have a beast of a human being on the defensive line with Suh...the Best/Morris duo needs to step up big time and help out Stafford. They drafted nothing but offense, which I didn't like...and the secondary needs to be the key.
Minnesota Vikings 8-8 (6-10 in 2010)
Donovan McNabb is worth a two-win improvement for this team. Last year they didn't know what was going to happen on a play to play basis with the QB. Biggest question mark for me with this team is the secondary and their depth. The Packers and Lions are pass happy...and that could pose a huge problem for the Vikes.
Chicago Bears 7-9 (11-5 in 2010)
Much like the Chiefs last year....the Bears over-achieved. This year they have the issues with Lance Briggs which will be interesting to see. However, they did just bring in Brandon Meriwether from the Pats to help out with their defensive secondary. They still have Peppers and Urlacher who are incredible. They brought in Roy Williams to boost the receivers and give Cutler another weapon. I just see them having an 0-3 record out of the gate with the Falcons/Saints/Packers lined up.

Also, Jamall Charles doesn't need to sneak up on anyone. He is one of the best backs in the league. If the Chiefs don't make the playoffs, it will be because of Matt Cassell's poor play and their defense.

Love the offense...not huge on the defense. Matty Ice...Burner Turner...Roddy White...Julio Jones...Tony Gonzalez? Holy crap that is stacked. Especially playing in the Georgia Dome and not having weather to deal with will be huge for them. They won't have a single game with cold weather this season. I just don't like the defensive group as much as I probably should. I'm probably wrong.
New Orleans Saints 10-6 (11-5 in 2010)
Bumping them down one win because I think the defense did a little better than they looked on paper last season. No Darren Sharper in the secondary. Love Ingram as a running back, and Drew Brees has essentially the same weapons outside of Shockey this season. They are still one of the better teams out there, and will be a dangerous playoff team as usual.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers 8-8 (10-6 in 2010)
I would have liked to see the Bucs do a little bit more in the offseason. Josh Freeman did a fantastic job last year limiting the mistakes and getting the absolute most out of this offense. LeGarrette Blount obviously helped that cause big time. The pride of the team is the defense...and they reloaded with the drafting of Bowers from Clemson. I'm dropping them down because I think their offense will hold them back going up against the Saints and Falcons in four games...as well as non-division matchups against pass-happy teams like Detroit, Green Bay, Houston, Indy, and Dallas.
Carolina Panthers 2-14 (2-14 in 2010)
It's a good thing they have a solid offensive line to protect Cam Newton. I also like the addition of Naanee as a receiver to compliment Steve Smith. The defense however is not good. They will have another 1st pick coming next year.

Yeah Steelers are a powerhouse, but their offenseive line is somewhat of a question mark and their defense isn't quite as dominate as years past. I could definitely see the Steelers making a deep run, but I feel that the Ravens have alittle more of a deep team. However I really am not a fan of Harbough's playcalling.
like i said, thats why they play the games

Experience for Bradford will boost them up a couple of wins. Added Mike Sims-Walker for another weapon to throw to and Quinton Mikell on the defense. Should struggle a little bit at the start of the year...but finish BIG. Arizona, Cleveland, Seattle, Arizona, San Francisco, Seattle, Cincinnati stretch should give them a minimum of a 5-2 record.
Arizona Cardinals 8-8 (5-11 in 2010)
I'd say the fact that they have a somewhat legitimate QB this season is worth at least a win or two. The fact that they start with 3 winnable games and end with 4 winnable games also helps. I also like the addition of Todd Heap. They won't make the playoffs...but it will be an improvement.
Seattle Seahawks 6-10 (7-9 in 2010)
Huge dropoff at the quarterback position...which is the key. Sidney Rice is a solid WR....Lynch/Forsett are decent at RB....Carlson is a very good TE. But with nobody to throw the ball...and a possibility of a lot of mistakes more than likely it's not gonna be a playoff year this time. I do like a lot of the players they have on defense because of their speed. I also don't like the fact that they go to Pittsburgh, Dallas, Chicago, and the Giants.
San Francisco 49ers 6-10 (6-10 in 2010)
Alex Smith is not the QB of the future...and if they happen to struggle out of the gate it would be a wonderful option for them to continue to suck the rest of the way to try and win out on Andrew Luck. I like Frank Gore...I like Vernon Davis...and the defense is improved again but they still are a long way away.
