I&#x27;m tired of losing. There are times I go on streaks and streaks from $200 to $3,000, $5,000, or $10,000. That has happened before in the last 2 years since I started betting. But then overall I&#x27;m a loser. I&#x27;m probably down about $5,000 to $6,000 in 2 to 3 years of betting on and off?I think I&#x27;m starting to figure out that I&#x27;m need to look for values even though sometimes it maybe a gamble rather than going all in on no value just for the safety and get struck by upsets.Are there any books or sources to profit over long term?

I think "bounce back" and "home advantage" is more than 50% of the factor for winning bets. Team analysis only counts for less than 50% I think.

Just yesterday if you would have taken teams with less than 40% of the bets on them:Carolina -3 WinMinnesota &#x2B;3 LossCleveland &#x2B;6 WinSt Louis &#x2B;4.5 WinSan Diego &#x2B;5.5 WinOakland &#x2B;3 LossJets &#x2B;7.5 WinChiefs &#x2B;13 WinBears &#x2B;7 WinDon&#x27;t get me wrong, there are plenty of times the public wins. But in the long run, as your title mentions, the public always loses.

If you&#x27;re gambling JUST to try and make money you are going to drive yourself crazy. Between the juice and unpredictability (especially in the NFL) its just not a good career path. I&#x27;d like to think that most of us here have $ to play with so we can survive the streaks. But you can tell there are a few youngsters here that lost their job and think they can do this full time instead of getting another job.If you take this thing too seriously you will give yourself an ulcer or worse. There are so many other ways to make money dont waste all your time "capping" Do this for recreation and the love of action, when you win $ its just a bonus. I am learning that team analysis is less important that situations and emotion for the teams unless very obvious. This is especially true in college...  but fading yourself is certainly a worthwhile practice too.

They are degenerates and can&#x27;t control themselves.If you flat bet and control your emotions after a loss, you&#x27;ll be a profitable gambler.Virtually NO ONE does this (i.e. Chase, parlays, round Robin, etc etc Etc) and the books eventually...get it all.That is why they let you choose either team even if it&#x27;s a shrewd pick (take the browns over the saints as an example).They don&#x27;t care how smart you are. Another tip stay with certain teams that make you money. Oakland will be horrible this year bet them for 14 weeks and you should have winning season takes some of the guesswork out of it.

And 1 more thing that I forgot to mention. STAY AWAY FROM PARLAYS. Parlays are fools gold and are sucker bets to lure you in. U might hit a couple of them but in the end Parlays will rape your bankroll. Trust me I use to parlay a lot when I first started betting 20 years ago and I found my bankroll getting wiped away quickly time and time again.

Guys I&#x27;m not blowing any paychecks here lol don&#x27;t worry about my money. It&#x27;s controlled in terms of amount. I&#x27;d spend about $1,000 per season or so for NFL and NBA including online and offline. That&#x27;s about $2,000 a year.I&#x27;m 27 and I&#x27;ve got over $15,000 of savings of my OWN money. I work, live alone and spend a bit on sports gambling.I&#x27;m just learning that bankroll management is important. I&#x27;d make a deposit of $100 to $200 and that&#x27;d bust out quick or I&#x27;d be on a streak to win thousands for over a month or two period of time and bust.I&#x27;ve cashed out before too so I&#x27;m not going broke so don&#x27;t worry.

Yesterday my picks wereJAX &#x2B;6TEN -3.5NE MLNO MLATL &#x2B;5.5SF -7GB MLSD &#x2B;6I had a feeling that CIN would be strong but ATL proved a lot last week. I guess I undermined the home field advantage factor. I knew it was going to be a very difficult  game but I thought ATL was going to cover. I was wrong. I felt for the trick and did not choose CIN -5.5NO game I knew Browns had decent defense too but I was counting on the possible bounce back of NO. I was close to taking CLE &#x2B;6 but I thought NO ML would be a safer take but I should&#x27;ve considered the value for it too.
