Jack Buck is my all time favorite broadcaster. Growing up a Cardinals fan, I always looked forward to hearing his play by play calling on the radio. He also did Monday Night Football on the radio side and was terrific. Too bad it cannot be said of his son Joe, seems he would have learned something from his old man. He sucks and Aikman is worse. Unfortunately, they aren't going anywhere.

Someone already made the real point that good announcers dont exist anymore. No matter what the network. Collinsworth is probably worse at least to me but Ill call it a draw

Jack was the MAN no doubt! Joe can kinda work in a baseball broadcast but ruining sunday nfl. To be fair to him 90+% of announcers ruin the game they talk over. Bring back that no announcer experiment jets dolphins game from 1980 that the networks didnt want to admit that everyone LOVED!!

I'd make those 92-93 Cowboys teams a 10-13 point favorite of this years or lasts Chiefs squad
Not just the Cowboys were good then...
Early 90s 49ers were just as good. Both teams pretty much had an All-Pro had almost every position..
If the 1991 Eagles had a healthy Cunningham, they'd be in the discussion too with their defense. Not fair to have a D Line with Reggie White, Jerome Brown and Clyde Simmons plus Seth Joyner, Eric Allen and Andre Waters...
Plus the Bills and few more teams were all very good (Broncos, Redskins, Detroit, Houston)
Steroids definitely had something to do with it, but the NFL back in the day seems way better than today. A lot of defenders in the league today can't tackle...how are they going to bring down some of those 80s and 90s backs? And what happens when you protect Montana and Fouts and Marino in the pocket like today's QBs are protected? Or let Jerry Rice run routes over the middle of the field with defenseless receiver protection?

Ha,man I realize some of the years in my life are a blur, but when has Detroit EVER been very good, they have won 1 playoff game in 60 years?I'm kidding I realize they were somewhat respectable when they had Sanders playing, but very good might be some what of a reach.

They had 1 very good year - 1991 - went 12-4. Barry had 1850 yards from scrimmage in 15 games. I probably could have picked a better example...they hammered Dallas in the playoffs before losing to Washington in the NFC Conf Champ game.

I'd love to see Dan Marino play in today's NFL ...Bruce and Bennett used to take advantage of the 1-2 step after the throw and lay the lumber on Dan ...
Bruce & Reggie would be charged with assault in battery in today's softcore NFL ...Bruce almost killed Dam Marino in the 93 playoffs ..FOUTS in today's NFL would probably throw for 6000 yards ..
Those Eagles Buddy Ryan teams are some of my all time favs ....
Also loved all the 49ers teams as well ..That Steve Young team that waxed the Chargers was Fantastic ..

Ya when I 1st saw the 4 teams you picked,Im like "which one really aint like the others".I remember that game, they destroyed the Cowboys in that game. That's the 1 play-off game they've won in the 60 years.

i’m on the other side of the spectrum that you are I would make the Chiefs -14. No way a 90s team can compete with the speed of the NFL in today’s game

I am not here to disagree with everyone saying, but if they are so bad, why Fox network have Aikman & J. Buck announce big game very week (including Super bowl)?

They are the safe choice. Networks and advertisers trust them not to say anything stupid. And they are well-known. Nobody at Fox will get fired for supporting them.

I used to dislike Buck and Aikman but now I enjoy them much more. This is because far too many commentators doing games now are just terrible. They aren’t perfect but they are pretty decent and now that they have done it so long in my view they are much improved from say 10 years ago when I really couldn’t stand either and Joe Buck especially. Right now I cannot stand the Monday Night Football guys. The only one I think ever points anything out is Louis Riddick but he’s still raw at commentating games. Meanwhile Levy and Griese seem like they should just stay college commentators as neither of their styles suits the NFL. ESPN can do better it’s a shame what they’ve done to MNF.
It's amazing what ESPIN has done in so many different ways. I haven't watched them for the over the past year or so. No thanks!
