Brady The Myth and The Reality

Results of FO --- Last season they called-out Denver, Pats and Seattle as 3 of the best teams of the DVOA era heading into the playoffs.

Not 1 of those 3 teams finished the post season with a winning record  and none made the SB.

Including their call of the Pats as one of the best teams in the DVOA era a few years back, they to failed to finish with a winning record or make the SB.

These 4 teams finished just 2-4 SU (33.3% accuracy) in the playoffs  for the supposed best teams according to their meterics.

None of the 4 teams made the SB and 50% of them were 1 and done in the playoffs. 

They had the 49ers 4th, well behind those 3 other teams when clearly the 49ers were better then everyone of them based on actual playoff results.

I would not call FO meterics the most accurate thing going.

Some people are too fuccking stupid to realize they are witnessing greatness. Brady is hands down top 5 ALL TIME at his position. Anybody who argues that is just a Pats hater or doesn't know football. He has won with less talent than any other QB of all time. He has won superbowls with WR's that most people couldn't name unlike Manning who played in a dome for a minimum of 8 games per year in perfect weather conditions with 2 Hall of Fame Wr's.

I am a Knicks fan and back in the day Jordan use to destroy them and I hated him and all the Bulls fans but I always appreciated that I was watching the best player to lace up sneakers of all time. It is fine to hate a player and a team,it is idiotic to let that hate get in the way of appreciating their greatness.

I don't see what all the haters hate about Brady. He is the ultimate teammate,never throws his team under the bus,never makes remarks like Manning has when he said after a loss "the better team loss today". Brady gives credit and takes blame,what more could you want from a leader?

Brady taken in the 6th round.

Manning or Ryan Leaf was actually a serious discussion before the draft......

Aaron Rogers selected 24th by a team that already had a MVP qb starting (somebody named Favre........)

I think that he landed in the perfect situation for him to turn into this player.  If he started on shitt y franchise maybe this never happens but I would contend that at this point there would be only maybe 4-5 teams that wouldn't take him over their QB in a second over say the last 5 years at least.  I cant stand the Pats and think he is overrated but I cant discredit all that he has done.

Interesting thread though.

One point pf contention... the year Tom Brady was injured the Pats went 11-5 and lost the division to the Dolphins and failed to make the playoffs.  That being said Matt Cassel looked great that year and earned himself a nice contract and a starting job for the chiefs and we all know how that turned our for Cassel.   

But I do agree that there are many QB's that could've had similar success in the situation that Brady found himself in.  However Brady delivered championships and deserves credit for that.

I think it's been proven however that Manning is on a different level than Brady.  If Manning was on the Pats they might have had 5 or 6 right now. 

The real credit to this Pats team is Belicheck and anyone that understands football acknowledges this point. 

FO called out 4 teams in recent years as the greatest of the DVOA era at the end of the regular season  and those teams won  33.3% of their games in the playoffs.

Calling their info accurate I'd say is a bit misleading at best unless of coarse you consider 33.3% to be accurate info.

IF............... if........ if the Pats D makes one stop you say and the Pats go 19-0 and SB Champs

Here's what the Pats D did do that game.....................they held the Giants to the lowest point total of the 16 game schedule SB era.

Here's what Brady and the offense did that game..................scored fewer points then any previous SB winner in the 16 game schedule SB era...........................and they needed to score very late in the game to get to a point total ssssoooooo low that no team has ever won a SB with the points put up by Brady and the Pats offense and this after becoming the 2cd leading ave per game scoring team in the History of the NFL regular season, and they could not even match the Super Bowl Winner with the lowest point total, who by the way was a defensive oreinted team with the lowest yards gained per game on offense  in the regular season  of any SB winner in the 16 game schedule and that'd be the 90 Giants scoring 20 points to beat the Bills.

Now, if you need some-one to explain to you who did their job and who did not , the offense or defense then I'd say your behond any reasonable discussion.....................................................

Conclusion

Personally, I am tired of seeing a quarterback get all the yardage credit for a little screen pass 

There are a lot of interesting numbers that came from the study .

Tom Brady’s AIR YPA is 3.95, which puts him at 46th with Jon Kitna and Vince Young breathing down his neck.

Brady has thrown 9 TD passes in his five Super Bowls. The distances on those plays are 1, 2, 4, 4, 5, 5, 6, 8, and 12 yards.   

Above are not my words but a snippet an article that looks  at NFL QB's that  actually throw the ball down field and the Frauds that can't .  Notice that the names Brady's linked closest to are not Arron Rogers or a  Manning ,  but a couple of STIFFS .

In the two Super Bowls against the Giants, Brady is 0/13 with an interception on passes thrown 20+ yards. 

All hall of fame stuff from the Great  Regular Season Tom . and if you  thought he had happy feet before getting his knee  dinged  in the practice today , you ain't seen nothing yet .
