I can't figure out all the hype for Maye. I'll admit I've only seen him 3-4 times but I never got much "WOW" factor from his performances. Maybe some of you ACC guys can enlighten me........is he more Josh Allen or Mitch Trubisky?

That is what I said in an earlier post. Lets be honest the Tarhills doesn't have a great track record with QBs on the next level. I have never really been that impressed with Drake Maye. Sam Howell started over him for 2 years and apparently he isn't good enough in Washington so what someone should take a flyer on Howell's successor with a top five draft pick. WTF type of GM logic is that BS? I rather wait until the second round or later and take a flyer on someone like Penix, Rattler or Hartman. Just my two cents. BOL!

@jesron1269
It must be one of those "he has tremendous upside" things that scouts love to parrot.
@Rush51
I'd almost put the injury issue to bed with him.......almost......after two complete seasons with Washington. He's the wildcard in this draft. I could see him going anywhere from top 10 to late 2nd round.

Penix should go early 2nd or someone trades up it 1st to get the 5th year option...like his pocket presence and how he looks to extend with his arm
His age is the one negative...he will be 28 or 29 at the end of his rookie deal (depending if he goes round 1)
For context jalen hurts has been in the league 4 years and will be 25 next season

burrow turned 24 during his rookie season penix will start his rookie season being 24 dont see much difference and to me it's a plus he should be more mature and ready to go than your average rookie to handle the nfl life both on and off the field

I am a Giants fan so this is what I think: 1) We need to replace Daniel Jones. 2) We have too many roster needs to trade up. 3) Lots of teams need a QB, so a trade down to mid first round may leave our GM with his dick swinging in the wind.
Rich Eisen reported that the Giants appear to be done with Jones without citing a Giants source, so I think Joe Schoen has called around about a trade up and that's how word leaked out. I suspect this is a smokescreen, our team has too many needs to part with precious draft capital.
Sources in the media known to be friendly to the Giants (NY Post, Big Blue View, etc.) have reported a serious interest in JJ McCarthy. This strikes me as a smokescreen, as well. A bullshit leak to the palace guard.
Everybody expects Williams, Daniels, Maye to be gone 1, 2, 3 though not necessarily that exact order.
So I feel the Giants are probably going to take McCarthy, Penix, or Nix.
Scratch McCarthy for the above reason.
Scratch Penix based on injury history and the fact that a lefty QB would get killed turning his back to Evan Neal, our current RT who isn't working out.
It's either Nix at Six or an attempt to trade down to 12 or 13 and get Nix at a better price. For the record, I haven't seen a second's worth of tape on any of these guys and wouldn't know what to look for if I did.

@THEMUGG
Thats partially it
The other part is he was way older/experienced than his college opponents and therefore should look good/be better than average/dominate
Age can be a big factor in the draft...but yes, QB age maybe not quite as important
