If Jon Gruden is rebuilding via the draft someone please explain why The Raiders would obtain Martavious Bryant in his contract year (and all his issues) for a 3rd round 2018 draft pick?
While you're at it please also explain why The Raiders would give up a 2019 5th round draft pick for A J McCarron when plenty of also useless free agent QB's are available?

That's correct

Bryant is a free agent in 2019. Would you be better off rebuilding a team with a 2018 3rd round draft choice who would be under contract thru 2021 or a player who is a free agent in 2019, will ask for $6-9m a year for 4 years and who is 1 strike away from a 1 year ban. Also a locker room PITA.
Same question with McCarron and a 2019 5th round pick. During a true rebuild you'll take a few shots at drafting a QB. McCarron is due $3m on the 3rd day of the 2019 league year and another $1.9m in salary and then becomes a free agent in 2020.
Maybe just maybe Jonny should've kept those draft picks and used that $9 - 12 million to help offset a cornerstone on defense to build around instead.

Both Bryant and macarron deal was before the season - gruden seen enough of carr - Doesn’t believe he’s a franchise QB

relax it’s 1 year - didn’t jimmy Johnson go 1-15  his first year in Dallas?  Carr isn’t the same QB after the major injury - I wouldn’t pay mack all that money - This raiders team wasn’t going anywhere- and if your going suck? Just keep losing games and get a high draft pick -

Thats a deep reach with Johnson. From what I recall Minn gave them the world.
1 year? Try a very painful 16 out of 17 in a row.

Good point about Bryant, I didn't like that move for a 3rd either especially since their WR core was looking pretty solid coming into the year. Their issues were at OL and QB on offense and Gruden should've understood that.. WR, TE, and RB were all sufficient enough.

I didn't mind the McCarron move though since Carr could be dumped/traded by year end. Who knows, McCarron might be their starter next year in another tank.
