Yes I caught this in real time and couldn’t believe for the life of me that bowles wasn’t calling the last timeout. To do that in any game let alone a playoff game is hard to comprehend.

Tampa had ZERO chance at a SB entrance. ZERO

You have a 55% chance of getting a 2 point conversion with 2 tries. When you include that with the 2 extra points it takes to tie (5% chance you miss 1/2) the odds say go for it . I think with the extra point being moved back it changed the odds enough that teams are now doing this.

How so? Are you saying a 2PT conversion is more likely than the kicker chipping an extra point in? I don't see it

This isnt even it.
It is more about the idea that if you kick 2 EPs, you still only have a 50% chance of winning in OT.

You said you realized det would have had a chip shot field goal if bucs used a timeout after the 3rd kneel
49 yards isn’t a chip shot fg in football
Why do you think it is ?

I think there has to be some sort of sign language understanding b/n the 2 coaches prior to that series b/c they both fucked up.

If my coach failed to use a time out in a 1 possession game in the fn playoffs because he didn’t want to “delay the inevitable “, I’d be fn furious. Missed fg, blocked fg, or anything could happen. Then you got mike freaking evans try to make a miracle happen.

First of all Goff only burned about 23 seconds roughly off the play clock on second down before kneeling
Goff didn’t let it run down to 2 seconds or so or he would have kneeled around the 49 second mark roughly unlike the 1:06 u mention in this thread
Goff can see the play clock winding down obviously but it wasn’t relavent and he knew it hence the early kneel down with plenty more time left on the play clock
Goff can’t be that stupid to leave all that time on the play clock , he knew bowles had folded
Also if there was a time out called there would never have been a fg from 49 yards , because that’s not a CHIP SHOT in the nfl as u believe it is in this thread
a miss fg attempt and the bucs are roughly around Hail Mary range
it would of been a punt obviously , probably out of bounds
nothing strange here at all

Alright. Not a chip shot. I get it. My bad. Even more reason to call the timeout.

Yup.
Yup.
You must be fun at parties.
Blah blah blah. There was a decision to make at 37 seconds. He could have called the timeout. The Lions would have to try a 49 yarder or punt or go for it.
He could have done this. There is no argument. And he might have had 30 seconds to try and tie it up.

Goff didn’t burn the play clock on second down, u see that in your clock numbers here in your thread
again that explains that Bowles had waived the flag
hope that helps you

I get it. Read that again. I get it.
BUT BOWLES COULD HAVE CALLED A TIMEOUT WITH 37 SECONDS ANYWAY.

Why would Goff not burn another 17 or 18 seconds roughly off the play clock on 2nd down ?
are u saying he can’t see theres roughly 20 second on the play clock when he kneels , come on man he’s not blind
he could of ran it all the way down to 2 seconds if he wanted , snapped it and kneeled
But bowles called it , obviously ! A common occurrence in the nfl for decades
Bowles folded obviously, why do you think they didn’t run it in first down ,the lions knew he folded
it’s called a coach respecting the game and it’s unwritten rules
he’s not going to disrespect his opponents and the game itself

The "guy" said game over...no need to call timeout.

Got it just trying to help you understand all that
you can also look at flip side , if bowles doesn’t fold , the lions run a play , look at the clock now …..
at the end of the day the bucs were done !

you say u realize the lions have a chip shot fg
A 49 yard fg attempt
Is a chip shot ? Sure !
this guy attacks the old man for posting 500 unit plays , 84.6 %
He’s a specialist But doesn’t know
what a chip shot fg is
