I’m sorry, because backup QBs are 9-2 in the SB, you have Foles the advantage OVER Brady!?!?!??
Trendwise, yes. Remember, Tom Brady was once a backup too and contributed to that trend. Did you ever thought Brady would beat kurt warner? Food for thought

The Patriots are seeking to be the first team to repeat as champions since... *ahem* the Patriots defeated the Eagles to win back-to-back titles in 2005. As fate would seem to have it, the Eagles once again stand in the way and at the end of another Patriots conquest for a championship trio this decade. Will history repeat itself or are we in for an incredible twist of fate?
The Patriots this time seem to have been afflicted with some issues that would normally derail ordinary teams. From stories of internal rift within the Patriots organization, to Tom Brady's Thumbgate and the possibility of coordinators preparing to leave for head coaching jobs elsewhere, you have to wonder if the Patriots will be totally focused with all the drama going on. Remember when Dan Quinn had a coaching job lined up for him in Atlanta once his team was done playing the Super Bowl? Or how about Kyle Shanahan for the 49ers job? that certainly was kind of a distraction wasnt it where he accidentally misplaced his playbook? The Seahawks and Falcons both lost the big game. The Patriots are being hit double time with Patricia and McDaniels expected to leave. Will this all be a distraction?
"Do your job" As Belichick would say. As fate would also have it, this wouldnt be a first for the Patriot that multiple coordinators left right after the Super Bowl. Romeo Crennel and Charlie Weis had new jobs waiting for them but they still helped successfully complete the Patriots first championship trilogy. There are also the curses that i mentioned beforehand: The Madden curse, the MVP curse. Brady fell victim once before to the MVP curse while also leading the league in passing yards. No player has won the Super Bowl when they led in passing yards they are 0-5. Yet i keep hearing that refrain every time i try to question them.. "Do your job!" over and over like a broken record in that monotone Belichickian voice. I think that would drive most people insane..
This writrup is more than just spewing out trends, or talking about silly curses so i thought it would be appropriate to discuss matchups. I apologize if it was long but i want to look at this game from many angles. By now you are probably already getting tired of reading all this fluffy nonsense and want to hear what is my pick for this game.
I think its only fitting that i conclude this "6 part" writeup with my final thoughts on the game. Will the Patriots come away with their 6th Lombardi trophy?

This is probably the toughest game i've capped since the Giants/Patriots rematch where i would constantly flip-flop teams. Ive hopped on both sides of the 4.5 spread fence. One minute im on the Patriots and the next i change my mind and go with the Eagles then back again to the Patriots and debating to myself whether the Eagles have enough in them to upset the defending champs and my gut finally says... "no"
I dont trust this Eagles defense enough on the road or on an neutral field to stop Brady and co. They arent that strong against the pass which will play into the Patriots strengths. I see the Patriots using a similar gameplan like they did versus the Titans. At the same time, i feel the Patriots weaknesses defending running backs will play into the Eagles strength as far as the Eagles controlling the clock and limiting Brady's time on the field but that may not be enough they'll need to score as much as possible. The Patriots defense will let the Eagles hang around but they will buckle down when the game gets tighter. I dont think Pats defense gets enough credit they are slightly better than their ranking suggests. it was their defense that was a factor in their comeback vs the Jaguars. The redzone is the one area i am paying the most attention to and the Patriots have the advantage here
Pats backers will talk about the experience factor that will go against the Eagles. I think they are putting a little too much stock on that. If the Eagles lose it certainly wont be for a lack of experience but rather theyre just simply the inferior team. There have been teams that won the Super Bowl without having been to one. I also would not underestimate Nick Foles, i think he'll have a decent game but just dont expect the same performance he put up against the Vikings.
Lastly I get the sense that this may be indeed the Patriots "last ride" or at least close to it and they will finish the job. They could get back to the Super Bowl one more time in the near future as long as Belichick and Brady are still around but it may not end well when another team will finally be better than them. I suggest Brady to go out on top while the opportunity still exists.
The pick: Eagles +4.5 and Patriots ML -180
Final score: 24-22

First time i've betted both sides in a Super Bowl. Usually when i pick a side or dog i am convinced they also win SU but i think there is just enough value to take the spread and ML on both sides. Hope To middle My bets and hit at least 3 out of 4. It was tough to pick the final score. The DK simulation predicted final scores of 24-20, 24-16, 24-22, 24-23, 23-20, 27-20, 27-22, 31-20, 27-24. Scoring parameters: Eagles score anywhere from 16-23 pts with exact scores of 16, 20 or 23. Patriots score anywhere from 23-31 pts with exact scores of 23, 24, 27 or 31. I was going to go with 24-20 as my original score but since that is Madden Bowl's predicted final score i decided to change mine up. Brady comes back to score in the 4th quarter near the 2 min warning to go up 24-16. Foles and the Eagles desperately try to tie up the score in the final seconds of the game.. and almost succeeds. The Eagles score a TD and they go for a 2 pt conversion. Nick Foles fails to convert. Tom Brady kneels down once to expire the clock and the Patriots win by 2 in another thrilling Patriots Super Bowl.

Curious euro, what is your final score predixtion. I like to ask you this
Patriots have got all of the mojo as the defending champ, but i see a very good football team out of Philadelphia to give New England a tough run for their money. l'm guessing a final tally here, 27-23 Eagles. Best of luck, DK!

Bold brotha. Eagles will need to score 3 TDs for that to happen. Possible but will be little tough. I see Foles throwing 1 or 2 pass TDs max, i will say just 1. and 1 rush score. I see 2 TDs and 3 FGs by the Eagles.
