The Cheese Heads have momentum as well as the Steelers. Not much to choose there. The Steelers have the experience edge. This is important. They both have strong O and D. This will/should be a great game.

Steelers should be favoured but the masses choose otherwise. The masses are usually wrong and I think they will be again. I hate the Steelers.

    Steelers 20 - 17 on a last play win.

Mr. Sprat you are a smart man.

chadwick, I too am impressed by what the Falcons have achieved --- HOWEVER --- they are not truly "great" at any one facet of the game, just very good. It may sound like I am splitting hairs here, but that is my synopsis of ATL. They  are GREAT AT TIMES running the football, but only when Turner the Burner is at full strength/healthy... fact is, compared to Pittsburgh, the Falcons are as soft as whipped butter, Green Bay exposed this little fact, and I, as everybody I know, took GB big @ ATL, no surprises there...

Actually Atlanta is a very similar offensive team to the Steelers as there is! A BIG halfback that isn't to flashy. One BIG threat WR a decent TE and not alot else.Oh the biggest difference between the two teams is THE O-LINE! Atlanta's is better by far, more so now that Pouncey is not playing.

    Common opponents

    Pitt: W vs Jets 24-19, L vs Jets 17-22, W @Bills 19-16, L vs Pats 26-39, W @Fins 23-22, W vs Falcons 15-9 (no Big Ben).

    GB: W @Falcons 48-21, L @Pats 27-31(no A-Rodg), L @Falcons 17-20, W @Jets 9-0, L vs Fins 20-23, W vs Bills 34-7

Pitt is 4-2 with 4  games at home being outscored 124-127, while GB is 3-3 with 4 games on the road but outscoring their opponents 155-102. This is in no way a prediction of what will happen tomorrow, but when looking at it from a common opponent perspective, I can see why GB would be favored and why people would lean with the Pack. The Steelers experience is big, but the victories were not impressive against teams they should have handled (Seahawks and Cards). Should be a great SB. I'll be rooting for the Pack. If they win by 1 great, if they win by double digits, even better. If they lose, hide the dog and call in sick this week.

This is one of the most evenly matched Super Bowls I can remember.  I'm going steelers because i'm a homer and I picked them at the beginning of the year when they were +1800 on betus.    also remember only 2 packers have SB experience,  Steelers have 25 with SB experience, 18 are going for their 3rd ring.  Oline will make or break us though.

O-line is key for both teams as both Ds get to the QB with the zone blitz. Can GB's D wrap up when they get to Big Ben (not just bounce off him) and can Pitt's D keep Rodgers in the pocket. Rodgers is dangerous when he gets outside. I believe he is second only to Vick in QB rushing yards.

HighTide, I hope that Rodgers tries to run around/bootleg on this Steeler D, PITT's defenders all do their jobs, stay in their lanes, and gang-tackle like no other team in the NFL. I expect Pittsburgh's DB's and Corners to consistently JAM all of the GB WRs off the line in an effort to disrupt their timing while I also expect the safeties (Polamalu) to keep EVERYTHING in front of them, refusing to give up the "big play" so to speak... if Green bay cannot run the ball effectively (in my world that means averaging 3 or more yards per carry) & keeping PITT's pass-rush "honest", then I do not give Green bay a chance in hell of winning with their one-dimensional offense.

With your Steelers + Over.  With you on Pit +3.  Lets just throw out all of the trends, angles, the bashings and the blah blah blahs.....Simple and logical reason to take Pits: Great team plus free field goal in the biggest dance of the NFL season.
PS..its nice to see that many of the tv analysts are either sucking or blowing Packers shaft n balls.
Good luck to all Steelers backers.

Green Bay has been 1-dimensional up to the last 5 games tho not against a D like Pitt. I can see GB getting 75 yds rushing on 20-25 carries and keeping the D honest. I think you give a little too much credit to Pitt's corners as that is their weak link while GB arguably has the best 4 WRs in the NFL. I'm a GB homer with no money on it nor would I want to jinx them by putting something on them. I think this will be a very close game, so I get why someone would take the +3. I was mildly surprised at the number when it came out. But going over the common opponents, I can see why GB is favored. Throw in GB never trailing by more than 7 all year, I would not expect Pitt to blow them out.

Best 4 WRs as a group I should have said, not the best 4 individually.

I hear you completely HighTide... PITT's corners frighten me frankly, moreover, the Packer's WRs ability to consistently create seperation scare me too, and that's why I expect the Steeler Dbs/Corners to "jam" those GB receivers off the line each and every time, no free-releases Sunday nite... if that PITT pass-rush can get off the ball as swiftly as I believe they will, then I expect Rodgers' timing with them to be compromised, complete with hurries, knock-downs, and more than a couple HARD sacks despite Rodgers' mobility in and around the pocket... I just do not see Gb slowing down Mendenhall often enough to force Big Ben and co into must-pass situations or many 3rd and longs... should be a great game regardless, and may the best team win, officiating aside... finally, w/. regard to GB never trailing by more than a TD all season long, there's a first time for everything...

Good luck to your play. I can live with GB winning by 1 or 2. It might take a couple of years off the old ticker, but a SB win for the Pack would be awesome.
