DUDE ARE YOU ON SOME CARIBEAN POT????????????????? HOW AN EARTH CAN YOU SAY A -10 FAVE IS A TRAP? TRAP GAMES HAPPEN WHEN A PUBLIC TEAM IS ON THE ROAD OR AT HOME AS A FAVOURITE OF UNDER 3 POINTS OR -3 +100,OTHER THAN PRIMETIME GAMES. THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A PRIMETIME TRAP!!! MARK MY WORDS, COLTS -3.5 VS TENNESEE, PITT -3 +100 AT DENV, IF YOU START SAYING A -10 FAVE IS A TRAP, THEN IN ESSENCE ALL YOUR SAYING IS ANY FAVE THAT DOESENT COVER WAS A TRAP???????????? IF YOU WANT TO BE SUCCESSFUL AT FADING THE PUBLIC YOU HAVE TO LEARN A RULE AND SET LINES FOR YOUR GAME, TRUE LINES NOT RIDICULOUS ONES. LAST WEEK DALLAS WENT TO GREEN BAY, I HAD THEM AT -4.5, THEY OPENED UP AT -3 +100....TRAP, ITS UNDERPRICED FOR A REASON. I REMEMBER WEEK 2, THE BEARS GOT EMBERASSED AGAINST THE PACKERS IN WEEK 1 AND THE STEELERS PULLED OFF A LATE WIN AGAINST TEN I HAD THEM PINNED AT -5 THEY OPENED UP AT -3 +100 AND STAYED AT THAT NUMBER ALL WEEK. WHEN THE RAVENS CASH IN THIS WEEK, IF YOU WANT WE CAN DISCUSS NEXT WEEKS OPENING LINE PREDICITIONS AND SPOT WHICH GAMES ARE UNDERPRICED, IM NOT KIDDING, ITS GOOD TO SEE YOUR ON THE RIGHT TRACK BY FADING THE PUBLIC.
I'll post my picks tomorrow like Ive done every week this year and then we'll see how things pan out. You're making a lot of noise and setting yourself up for a big fall. Im just passing on what Ive found works for me, and theres a good chance that Ive been doing this longer than you have.
Anyway, good luck this weekend. Just remember to come back and take responsibility for what youve been beating your chest on all week. If you win, more power to you if not, well you'll have alot of people waiting to make their point.

New England is very focused after a loss, just once since 2003 have they lost two in a row (in 2006, to Colts and Jets), big revenge game for Pats after loss in week 2 when they didn't score TD, plus all week to stew on how they gave game away to Colts. May not be the same Pats as in the past, but still good enough to win by double digits against reeling Jets whose only win since September was against pitiful Raiders. Where's the trap here? Chiefs haven't won a game a home all year - what makes anyone think this mess of a team will actally be competitive against SB champs - even a hangover from Cincy loss wouldn't derail Steelers here. I'll fall into this "trap" as well. GL to all.

I don't get it how this game is a trap. Colts are still favorite on the road against a solid home Ravens team. If this game were played @ Indianapolis, the line would be Colts -7 at least.
It's not like Colts were playing @ Oakland. They play Ray Lewis and Ed Reed, the tough scary Baltimore Ravens.
I've read thru this thread and there are a few statements I don't agree with.
1) Colts may be gassed out due to the miraculous comeback against the Patriots. It could certainly be a possibility, but what about Colts being enthusiastic and on a hot winning streak? When teams are on a winning streak, they don't like to let down. They feed off wins and wanna keep winning.
2) Flacco is going to torch the Colts secondary. I am looking forward to seeing that before I can believe it. Flacco couldn't torch the Browns secondary which put close to zero pressure on him. Colts have a very good pass rush and decent corners. Ravens receivers are amongst the slowest in the NFL. Mason can run routes as good as anyone out there, but he's getting old and doesn't represent a deep threat. We are not talking about Tom Brady and Randy Moss here.
3) Colts are not in a must-win situation, while Ravens are. So what? Do you seriously believe Payton Manning is going to serve the Baltimore the game on a silver platter just because they need to win? Colts haven't clinched the AFC home field advantage yet, and every win will get them closer to that goal. Only then - maybe - will they start looking ahead to the playoffs.
All in all, I believe this line is low because of the must-win situation for the Ravens and the Colts injuries. Most people still believe the Ravens defense is still as good as it used to be, when in reality they are older and have a couple of key injuries as well.
If there is anything I've learned about Manning over the years I've been watching him play is that he's as good as anyone in preparing for games and giving 100% effort. He's a great competitor who's been leading its team to 18 consecutive victories. Eight-fucking-teen. 3 shy of Brady's & Pats record of 21. Hear that? I am sure Payton and the Colts have that record in the back of their minds. Colts vs Patriots has been the most heated rivalry of the last 10 years, Payton vs Tom, Belichick vs Payton, etc. Now close your eyes and try to yourself into Payton's shoes just for one second: wouldn't you want to get that streak to 22 and beat New England record? You are just 3 wins shy of making history.
And from a purely technical standpoint, I can't see how this Ravens defense can stop the Colts.
To beat the Colts you have to play GREAT defense, force turnovers, and score lots of points. Ah...don't forget time of possession. Does Baltimore have a good running game? Average at best. Can Baltimore keep up with the Colts if they have to trail by double digits? Just picture Baltimore down by 2 TDs. How are they going to score quick points and keep the Colts scoreless at the same time?
I may be the biggest square in the world but honestly I couldn't care less.
If Payton and the Colts lay a goose egg and get demolished by the Ravens, so be it.

Using this approach with NCAAF would yield these games to PLAY ON today:
SYR +10.5 or better CAL +7 or better Arizona U +6 or better
I think good chance for a 2-1 ATS. A possible play on MICH as well.
So where are the shit talkers right now? My method went 3-0 for NCAAF and the possible 'trap' either covered, pushed or lost, depending on if you had +10.5, 11, or 11.5.

Syracuse game surprised me...Cal was a no brainer and picking AZ was just a solid play. Ticked Oregon came back though...Wanted AZ playing O State in Rose so I could take the Buckeyes.
Good Job.

Thank you for posting my exact thoughts in regard to the INDY/BAL game.

I pretty much play my bets in similar fashion to yours as well. Good luck to the rest of the season. Screw all the haters. There is a saying that "you are only as good as your last pick," so expect plenty when it happens. At the same time, you're a god when you win. Aaaargh.........the emotional ebb and flow of the common degenerate.

Thanks for the well wishes guys. Im going to lock in my NFL action tomorrow before kickoff. But I'll post my plays on here and either come back for a good ass chewing or to gloat a bit. Hopefully, it will be more of the latter.
Good luck guys

SteelRain...thank you very much for your insight and show me what the trap game is...question; can you please advise me on how to start to look into the games like NCAA, because they are so many of them....what would be the first steps/...there are so many games...to check their past games..etc...From you experiences, when you look at the vegas spreads, you can tell....I would have no clue....I also sent an email requesting to be your friend, if possible....thank you ....

When the IND@BAL line came out a few days ago, I was sure it was a classic sucker bet. But in my experience, when everybody and their uncle on Covers starts screaming about a game being a trap, its not a trap. I may still take BAL just out of principle, but Im starting to think the IND controls this game and dismantles the Colts. HOWEVER, here are a couple of surefire 'trap' games that fit my criteria of go against.
In the morning:
PIT @ KC
*possibly* WAS @ DAL
In the afternoon:
NYJ @ NE
*possibly* CIN @ OAK
In the evening:
PHI @ CHI
On Monday:
TEN @ HOU
So whats likely going to happen is that IND covers by double digits and the public suffers a bloodletting in the above games by betting PITT, NE, PHI, and possibly WAS and CIN and then TEN on Monday. Most likely 4 of these teams dont cover.
I usually wait till right before kick off to put my action in as it helps me get the best read for the game and since I usually bet against the public, this helps me get the best line.
Anyway, these look like the plays Im going to take this weekend, but usually I post my official picks on Sunday. Feel free to provide any input.
I agree with you... I live in vegas, and was talking to a SB manager earlier in the year, and he told me that they were absolutely raped 3 of the first 4 NFL weeks, and one week was the worst day they had in 20 years (Station casinos)... they are looking to make up for that lost money, and know something we don't.... my advice is to play few games, play them bigger than you average games, and go against the betting public.... for what it is worth.... good post, and BOL bro

Nice write up... I like it and gives good Definitions of Trap. How to overlook Losses, etc.
You are absolut. right about NFL and any given Sunday being a Flip-fop. One thing for sure, the Junk Teams have closed the Gap on the Good Ones. Except Cleveland. They just suk !
That does not mean that Washington, Tampa, St. Louis, etc. are now a Good Team. But they are not as Bad as they were at the Begining of the season...
Good Thread...

I agree... When did the rule of a "TRAP" Game become "only -3" and all that stuff at the end makes no sense. He is trying to tell a whole story that is inside his head, and we need to figure it out.

Can you help me understand how you consider Philadelphia a trap game when they are coming off of two losses? How is Philly overvalued and/or Chicago undervalued (especially considering they have only had one impressive game this season). Thanks.
