Has Philip Rivers ever won a big playoff game?

Rivers is 37 and in 12 years as a starting QB he has never had a breakthrough in the playoffs. He is not the guy to take down Brady and Co. in the snow in Foxborough. He would have done it already.

&#xA;Yeah, I had similar thoughts...I remember Rivers always losing in big games. His actual record is 5-5 in postseason play with 11 tds and 9 interceptions...sacked 21 times...was in one conference championship after the 2007 season versus the Patriots in Foxborough and he was 19 for 37 for 211 yards and 2 interceptions and no tds.

Hes the poster child for tough luck in the playoffs...but this season, hes never had a better overall team on both sides of the ball, and healthwise hes really defying logic at his age given all the mileage on his tires...football is the ultimate team game, and this year is likely his most complete team hes ever had...Chargers ML is worth a look this weekend...Pats are not eager for this game

But a backup Qb last year in Foles, who nobody thought had a chance, beat Brady in a super bowl. So if that can happen why can&#x2019;t a veteran like Rivers who has arguably his most complete team beat Brady who arguably has his worst team since being in NE? Please explain. The spread is 3.5 which imo shines light on the idea that this LA team COULD keep this one very close and maybe win.

I am not convinced he will this Sunday either. &#xA;Rivers had a better team in the 2006 season with Tomlinson and a younger Antonio Gates, Michael Turner, Lorenzo Neal et. al. and lost in San Diego. He was 14 of 32 for 230 yards 1 interception, 1 fumble lost and 0 tds. &#xA;Rivers is 0-7 against Brady so for you guys who believe in revenge, isn&#x27;t this a worthy spot for it to happen? Yeah, good luck with that revenge theory...old Tom isn&#x27;t ready for the glue factory just yet.

Where Marlon Mccree intercepted Brady on a 4th down only to be stripped to give it back to NE. Marty was fired after that season.

If Hunter Henry plays, even though he&#x2019;s been out, he brings an added look to their offense. This is a big deal because NE defense is average. You have multi dimensional backs, an all pro receiver, a very good o line and good supplemental receivers. If you were take the jerseys away and just look at the rosters, the Chargers have the better ROSTER. NE could surprise though given the week off. You just never know with them.....Still....I like the Chargers chances.....

Just saw online that Brandon Mebane&#x2019;s daughter passed of a heart attack. I can&#x2019;t even imagine how he must feel. To say that this is going to be motivation and on the minds of his teammates would be a huge understatement. I already lean towards the LA Chargers and as much as these things usually don&#x2019;t factor into the equation when picking sides, this does tilt the meter a little more towards LA here. The motivation for LA is probably already through the roof given that they get a shot at Brady and NE in Foxboro but I&#x2019;m sure players and coaches would want more than anything to keep Mebane&#x2019;s daughters memory close to their hearts as they prepare and go into Foxboro this weekend. Again, I can&#x2019;t imagine how hard things must be for Mebane so regardless if he plays or not, his teammates will have her and him on their minds going forward.
