the falcons only having one time out?

Thats not true.  This isnt a matter of a bad bounce or something like that.

Saints had no business running any plays other then 3 kneel downs and a punt which would have been with 12 seconds left in the game.

Why run the ball and risk fumbling{like the guy did} with over a minute left.

If falcons could have gotton lucky with a bomb they could have won the game, when this game should have never been in doubt.

The saints ran the ball because they wanted the fumble, there is no doubt about it.  These coaches arent stupid, they know they could have ran the clock out without taking any risks.

Honestly this game should be investigated.

If the fumble didn't take place, the game WAS Over.

what you are failing to realize is the saints didnt have to run any running plays and risk the ball being fumbled.  By running the ball they risked the fumble, which happened.

I think a nunch of you arent getting this, the SAINTS DIDNOT HAVE TO RUN THE BALL.  3 kneel downs and a punt with 12 seconds left or even another kneel down and give the ball to the falcons with 9 seconds left.  Dont run the ball and risk giving the ball.

This is basic football 101

wasnt there an injury to a saints player and that stopped the clock and took a time out away from the saints and not atl.

thanks for confirming, so they had to keep the drive going to get a first down before they think about kneeling, still over 2 and half minutes left on the clock if I'm not mistaken

I have seen a ton of teams kneel to be safe, in order to run off as much clock as they could and then punt.   If it was over 2 minutes, then i say run, but not with 1:42 on the clock

that is not basic football 101   KID grow  up

saints got the ball from the falcons at 1:42.  check the yahoo play by play drive chart.

absolutely 100% correct....unless that clock would hit :00, no team would ever kneel 3 times, then punt, even if there was 5 seconds left on the clock....if you are going to leave time on the clock after 3 downs, u run....the fumble was extremely unfortunate...at best, they would have had it on the 20 instead of the 40...some could say it was a moose of some kind, but there was only 2 minutes the entire game that NO was covering
