Using a clenched fist to punch at the offensive players hand/wrist area to knock the ball loose Is NOT a legal football move by any stretch of the imagination.
It’s one thing if you tackle the running player or QB by wrapping around him and dislodging the ball. Using your fist to directly punch at the player should be freaking illegal imho.

I remember seeing TJ doing it I think on a MNF game against the Browns. He was constantly punching at a stood up player. I was wondering what he was doing and never knew that was a legal move. Never seen anything like that.
The new thing lately is pushing the offensive player into the punt returner trying to catch the ball.

Why?.. They're already making NFL soft as fuck... Respectfully, your opinion is insane. This is football, the runner has the ball and needs to protect it, the defender needs to take that ball away, THAT'S FOOTBALL!

Let’s have a football league where you can’t tackle too hard (especially the qb), you can’t say anything mean to the other teams players (including pointing at them, talking to them while standing over them when they are on the ground, or going face to face after the play is over ), you can’t push them out of bounds when they are near the sideline, you can’t touch them at all when they are trying to catch the ball (instead just let them score a touchdown), after running at maximum speed you must stop on a dime and avoid contact if the opposing player is “defenseless”, and also no balling your fist and punching at the ball (it’s mean).
You’re probably the same guy that smashes his TV after a bogus roughing the passer is called on the qb you bet against. How will you feel when your game clinching fumble recovery is called back for unnecessary punching?
P.S.- celebrations, choreographed dance moves (individual or full team), gymnastics are encouraged after touchdowns or turnovers (even if the players team is down by 5 touchdowns)
what a great NFL this would be!
P.P.S- All players are in concussion protocol at all times

Weak, the defense has enough rules against them. I'm STILL waiting for a defender to rip Derrick Henry down by his Cock looking dreadlock that always hangs out of his helmet. You're probably a big advocate for Flag football.

Too much emphasis is ‘wasted’ on this instead of wrapping up and tackling. Instead of letting the runner get 5-7 more yards downfield—I would prefer bring him down right away.

throwing a punch seems borderline ejectable tbh. I hate it looks like mma. I'd be wanting to punch back taking knuckles to my forearm and hands etc.
With the amount of pads the players wear, there's almost no spot on the body that would sustain an injury besides the players fist. Certainly in the helmet/face mask.
If a guy would throw a deliberate blow to guy's nuts, then yea he could be ejected.
But when they punch the football, cmon man, he's trying to create a fumble. And as another poster stated above, this maneuver does carry an inherent risk. As not going for a straight tackle will in most cases let the ball carrier gain more yards.
