keep in mind that the idiot announcers are putting these refs under a micrscope and calling them out at every opportunity, perhaps because they can't provide any analysis about football and this is something easy to talk about.  these refs are bad but the regular refs are complete shit also, it's just that the announcers talk about how fast the game is and how hard the job is when the regular refs are in and they fuck up which is early and often. 

it's a tough call by the nfl.  if i had a bunch of shitty employees who asked me for a raise, i wouldn't be quick to say yes just becuase the replacements  might be worse.

i disagree with you on this one bud, i dont even think its close  the game is way to fast for them. these guys never even reffed in college now they are in the nfl

badlands, that's not really my point.  yes, the new refs are bad and yes they are in over their heads.  but let's not forget that the regular refs are very bad as well.  better, but bad.  and it seems worse because of the announcers.  they are ridiculous. 

what i'm saying is the nfl is not in an easy position.  you have a bunch of shit employees asking for a raise.  if i was making the decision, i wouldn't be quick to give in.  it will be painful and hopefully these replacement clowns get better but there's no easy decision here.

There's no "might" here. These refs are far worse. About 8x worse in the magnitude of bad calls/noncalls I'm seeing. 10 years betting and this is by far the worst I've ever gotten. Even the Division I college refs are much better than these scrubs.

im not going off the announcers bud...half the time i dont even have the volume on..i think people forget how good the real refs really are. ive seen a lot of football in my life...at all levels..and this unless u have money on it unwatchable imo. the flow is gone..i could make a laundry list of reasons

At first I was blaming the replacement refs for their outright stupidity but the more I look at this situation, You have to wonder if this is all part of a dance to generate headlines. We all know Roger boy loves the NFL getting heavy media coverage and these replacement officials are making every prime time game more interesting with controversial calls, Now for us gamblers it's not good due to us having money on the line but overall ratings will increase because of these controversial calls and issues that are going on.

I totally agree.

I think the "ref" concept has become a lynch mob.  Its something for Stuart Scott to talk about. 

Last year everyone said the real refs sucked.  Its just a cyclone right now.

i know you're not, but the announcers are exacerbating it badly.  this is all they talk about when they took the opposite approach and made excuses for the regular refs. 

but i agree that the nfl is a mess right now because of these refs.  i'm just saying that i understand the nfl taking a long term approach.  i don't agree that the regular refs are good.  i think they are bad.  the nfl must agree that they aren't worth what they are asking becaiuse we can all agree this is painful in the short term.  but in the long term, i don't think the nfl will suffer with the replacement refs.  this will end at some point.  people are still watching the games and betting the games.  if anything, the league is getting more publicity with what is going on. 

no one will talk about it but i think the league will be better off in the long term with the nfl taking a hardline with the regular refs.  in the short term, it';s ugly, but i understand their position in the long term. 

the idiots on espn right now are talking about protecting this nfl brand.  i absolutely promise you that this brand is perfectly fine and i think it will be better because of this.  the regular refs need a kick in the ass, not the nfl giving in to their demands the the brand will be better off for it.

1) I don't want my employee pressure me to pay them unreasonable amount of money

2) The replacement ref are not good enough for the NFL. It really makes the game unwatchable, un-enjoyable. Every pass play, I would look for a flag.

3) Anyone who say does not matter, does not understand the game. Even if I have money on the game, I can't stand watching the game with these current ref.

Obviously the D1 refs are better, they just didnt want to come to the NFL as replacement refs... These are d3 and below referees...

 i think a lot of people blame the real refs for the the league's change in rules too. the 2 penalties we complain the most about every sunday are roughing the passer and pass interference and thats because the league made it that way..not the refs fault.  the league made is so you practically cant defend anymore or touch a qb. other then that i think the refs are GREAT at offsides..holding...spotting the  ball..knowing the rules..calling and spotting the ball immediately after a penalty without a 5 minute conference...the million little things that we take for granted that these guys cant do.

Agree 100%.  The "real" refs made horrible calls regularly...now they have been replaced with other refs who make horrible calls regularly.

What surprises me is that BOTH refs tonight made different calls and yet the touchdown call somehow ended up standing?  How does that shit happen...

how can u pay refs who work like 3 hours a week on a game and only work 1 day a week and u want to pay them like 100k a year and benefits i mean cmon why don' tthe real refs come down on their demands

yes, the league is partially responsible for making the refs job harder.  a great example is hitting the defenseless receiver.  i have no idea what that rule means because defenseless receivers get hit all the time.  if it's a nice hit, then it's often a flag but if it's not, then no flag.  or something.

Funny how Steve Young said a couple days ago that the replacements are fine and if people notice only the losers are complaining but today he makes such a big deal about one play not to mention about the horrible pi that was called on Seattle that he was complaining about.  That PI changed the complexion of the game also. 

Kinda odd that roughing the passer preceded the int when the int was before the roughing.  Must be a rules thing.

i agree..the other day a receiver actually  had the  ball  bobbling on his hands and the guy unloaded on him  (with his shoulder) and they called hitting a defenseless receiver
