I never usually have time for writeup's, but I got out of work early and wanted to share some thoughts on tonights contest.
Fact is I know this team better than most. I live in southern New Hampshire and work in Boston. I am a die hard Miami and live in New England. This is what I know, you don't go against New England in December at home. Houston get's lucky tonight because it's crazy warm, must have been around 55 this afternoon. Light rain all day, but supposed to start raining heavy throughout the night. It doesn't matter though, I truely see New England winning this game in blowout fashion. New England will spread the field tonight and should have great success against Houston's defense. Three weeks ago Chad Henne went 18-35 for 372 yards and then two weeks ago Matt Stafford went 31-61 for 419 against Houston. Houston has a good run defense, but their pass defense is weak.
New England gets back Logan Mankins on the O-Line tonight. Logan is a a huge part of the Pat's Offense. The O-Line has also been amazing. They have allowed defenses to sack Brady just three times in the last six games, and only once in the past three. Tom should have plenty of time tonight to shred the Houston secondary. I understand that JJ Watt is everyone's obsession, but he will have trouble getting to Tom tonight.
Chandler Jones is expected to return for the defense. Bill has taken over the defense and they have been having remarkable results. They have been able to finally put pressure on the opposition by blitzing because of Aqib Talib. They trust Tablib in McCourty's old slot. They have moved McCourty over to saftey where he has settled in nicely. Now that Bill trusts his secondary he has no problem blitzing extra players. I honestly do not see Houston being able to run the ball tonight. There will be no room to run in the middle with Wilfork and help from Love and the Pat's linebackers have been playing well, Mayo and Spikes have been outstanding.
Once Houston falls behind they will have to break away from their game plan. Foster has had trouble in the past verse New England. I have backed Houston several times this year with success, but tonight I will go against them. If it was going to be a low scoring, smash mouth game (like the Chicago game) then I would side with them. Tonight though will be all about Tom airing it out. Look for Hernandez to have a big game. He is where Brady looks in the redzone most of the time. Last year I think he was targeted something like 17 times in the redzone.
The Books will get slaughtered tonight with New England action. They are trying to protect themselves by raising the number. I honestly would feel comfortable laying 10 tonight. I usually never back the Pat's, but I feel very strong on this game. Best of luck to all tonight with your investments.

You my friend have tunnel vision! Anyone can make a statistical case for backing any team on any given night, and really the only stats you refer to are the 2 QB's stats from Hou's 2 worst defensive performances of the year. If I had time time I could probably fill this page full of stats that support Hou, but all the stats in the world won't matter when these guys are on the field tonite, a slippery field I might add.
N.E. can very well beat the snot out of Hou tonite, but I just can't see that happening. Hou hasn't lost a road game yet this year and quite honestly they have a much better resume than N.E. with wins against quality opponents whereas N.E.'s only quality win was against Den earlier in the year when Manning hadn't really started to get into sync with his receivers yet.
I honestly think the Patriots are over valued here due to their name and their DEC home winning streak. I think Hou wants it much more and will be able to at least keep it within this inflated number.
My 2 cents, GL

Dolphan, I gotta tell you I hate the Patroits and would to see nothing more then them lose tonight. I never back them and in fact try and find reasons to go against them. I can't find any. If New England gets out to an early lead then I think this game is over. Houston has placed so much pressure on themselves for tonight it's going to be hard to live up to it. This is the most important game in Houston Texans history ? I think I heard that today.
BOL tonight Dolphan, but I think I'm on the right side.

Have to disagree. I have no emotions on this game, but Houston is coming into a hornet's nest here. You talk about NE schedule, but Houston has only one good win, against Baltimore, unless you count the game they beat Denver, when as you say Manning had not got things going yet. I'll take my chance with the Patriots against a completely over-rated Texans team that will be exposed.
Just my two cents worth.

RP333, You are dead on sir. Not to mention Houston almost lost to Jacksonville and also stole a game that they should have lost from a terrible Detroit team.

I stand by what I said. Foster did have trouble against New England... until the 4th quarter. He did nothing the entire game. The Houston Texans did overcome a 27-13 deficit with a 21-point fourth quarter, but they struggled the entire game prior to that. It's one thing to watch a game, it's another to just check a box score. If you don't watch the game you can be mislead by the end game stats.

Totally one-sided right up,but then again you live there so that is your team. I remember watching New England last week against the Mighty Dolphins (pun) and they did not look good at all, against the Dolphins just a week ago...

Tom Brady owns a 12-4 record when playing on Monday Night Football. His best statistical performance on Monday Night Football was in the 2011 season-opener when he completed 32-of-48 pass attempts for 517 yards and four touchdowns, including a 99-yard touchdown pass to Wes Welker in the win at Miami (September, 2012). Brady has thrown three or more touchdowns in a Monday Night game eight times, including three four-touchdown performances. He has thrown four touchdowns in two of his last three Monday Night games. He had four in a 31-7 win at Minnesota (10/30/06), four in a 45-3 win vs. NY Jets (12/6/10) and four in a 38-24 win at Miami (9/12/11).
Bill Belichick is 15-8 all-time on Monday Night Football, including 14-5 as head coach of the Patriots.
Bill Belichick (201) needs one more win to break a tie with Dan Reeves and move into sole possession of seventh place all-time.
With one touchdown pass against the Texans, Tom Brady will extend his streak to 45 straight games with at least one touchdown pass and continue his third longest streak all time, behind Drew Brees (54) and Johnny Unitas (47).
