This is year two now under the Philbin/Sherman/Tannehill experiment and I see the arrow pointing upward. However, they will realize that the climb to the mountain top is not won with free agent signings in March. It takes time to build teams and Jeff Ireland's track record is poor. Unless the year 2 and 3 players rise to the next level and they can get some good play from their rookies, this is still at best a mediocre football team. I'm really interested in how the offense gels together with the new signings. Lamar Miller is a good prospect and a guy worth noting in fantasy football. Ill be rooting for them, but ultimately the best outcome would be a 9-7 season.

agree with Aso, Patriots are not unbeatable. I have the under in wins and project a 10 wins season for the Pats. Would be a welcome sight to see some other team win that division.

It has always been the pats dominating that division and then the jets have rode along competing for it in glimpses. But i think the tables has has turned around. Bills are looking a bit better, and Dolphins are looking a lot better, and Pats are looking a bit worse and Jets are looking a lot worse. So this is a really close division, Pats have the edge but Dolphins are catching up. And i actually Dolphins to bring the upset this year stealing the division. I like what i saw from them last season, and its going better

I don't think the Dolphins will win the division this year, but I saw them as low as +365 to win the AFC East. So obviously it is very much a possibility.
Fun fact: The Dolphins were the last team to win the Afc East, not named the New England Patriots. ( 2008-2009 season )

Yeah Tannehill is solid at the QB position. There are other areas in Dolphins that im more worried about. They really gotta improve against the pass on D, thats the key area. If they manage to do so they can make big things happen, coz offense looked okay last season.

A sampling of opposing QBs that the weak Miami secondary has to contend with this season:
Luck Brady (2x) Brees Roethlisberger Flacco Ryan
What happens if Miami loses in Cleveland in week 1? Do they go into their bye at 0-5? Then what if EJ Manuel is the real deal? Then up to Foxboro for a beatdown. What then? 0-7? What if Geno Smith wins a game or two? Can the Dolphins go winless in the AFC East?

That's about as far of a reach as saying they will win the division.
Geno Smith will be bad, a split is likely with the pats E.j manual will be a bust Rothlosburger is done Luck will have a tougher year as do most qb's going into the 2nd year Brees and the saints still have Swiss cheese defense. Flaco can't do it all by himself.
They will be more improved but 0-5 that is desperately reaching 2-3 or 3-2 off the gates are fair guesses.

The Dolphins will be 2-3 or 3-2 at the bye.
WORST CASE SCENARIO they will be 1-4 at the bye, and even then their season wouldn't be over because they would then be 2-4 when they beat Buffalo after their bye at home.
Slow your roll guy.
You should be asking the teams that play the Dolphins how they feel about playing a team with one of the best front 7's in football, and an offense that has potential to be one of the highest scoring in the league.

I'm not sure why you think that 1-4 is the worst case scenario before the bye. 0-5 is surely possible. The Dolphins are currently only a 1 point favorite in Cleveland for week 1. And I think we've all been around long enough to know not to pass judgement on a QB that we haven't seen yet, referring to EJ Manuel. 0-7 is definitely a possibility.
The d-line might stop some running backs and get a few sacks but with that miserable secondary running around back there, guys way down on the list of QBs they play like Dalton, Freeman, and Rivers are going to throw some TDs.
And there's no way in an ice cold hell that Tannehill's offense becomes one of the highest scoring in the NFL. He had the worst 3rd down rating in the league last season. Dead last. 7 of his 13 picks came on 3rd down. Probably a couple of his 9 lost fumbles as well but I can't confirm that.
13 opposing teams on the schedule. Excluding the 2 unproven rookies, Ryan Tannehill is only the better QB in 1 of those games. And that's also arguable.

I really have nothing to say to you, your mind is made up in one direction and that is fine with me. Time will tell, but to tell me the Fins will be sitting at 0-7 is an absolute and utter joke. I'm literally laughing as I type this..0-7 lmao.
Miserable secondary you say, but is it? While it is most likely the weakness of their team, Brent Grimes when healthy is an above average corner (which everything I read he is healthy) Richard Marshall is average, Reshad Jones is above average and Chris clemons is a touch below average. Add the two rookie Corners they drafted in the first few rounds and their secondary is far from miserable.
I'm glad you saw the JAWS report on Espn on Tannehill, and sure he had his struggles last year. He was a rookie with BRIAN HARTLINE as his best receiver.
You have your opinion, but let me tell you that it is wayyyyyy off. No worries though, I had countless people saying the Fins would be the worst team in the league last year....until week 2 when they won by 24 points and people realized, "uh this team has potential."
0-7 lmao, and you are hypin the Bills and Manuel..thats funny. Fins will go 3-1 vs the Bills and Jets..NO WAY THEY GO WORSE THAN 2-2.
I know the Miami Dolphins inside and out, you probably saw a combined hour of their games last year. We shall see.

They won 7 games last year. There's nothing but hype around the new offense with Wallace, Gibson, and Keller. Brent Grimes looks good at OTAs, supposed upgrades at LB, etc etc etc... All this after winning 7 games last year and Vegas still sets the number at 7.5 or 8, depending on where you look. I'm on the under. Good luck to your Dolphins and to you also.

I haven't looked at every teams over under, but how many teams are projected to win 3 games more than they did last year? Not many, so 1 is pretty average.
As for the upgrade at lineback, Ellerby and Wheeler are a big upgrade over Dansby (bad locker room guy) and Kevin "I can't cover a tight end if my life depended on it" Burnett.
GL, go Fins.

I locked the dolphins a few weeks ago at over 7.5. I posted it in a thread somewhere on this site. It's a gimme. However, I have to disagree with you on 2 of your predictions. 1. There is no way the patsies go 2-0 againts fins. Every year the fins give them hell. 1-1 2. 2. There is no way we are going to lose to the Steelers. The Steelers are a team of dirty hits which Goodell

Fish losing first 4. Opening in cleveland is not a for sure win if the game was in Miami I'd agree they will not win the opener vs a much improved browns team.
