Well... now we have Brees and Manning in the Super Bowl. And appearently everyone's betting the Colts by the line movement. I actually think the Saints are the better team, and the Colts should have lost to Baltimore (if they could hold on to the ball), but we'll see what happens. Should be fun...
I hope Manning throws 3 or 4 picks, but that Saints D isn't too scary. Thing is though, they did make a habit of scoring earlier in the year. Maybe they can rekindle that.
I dont think "Manning is taking Garcon and Collie to the Super Bowl" though. I think they are going together with Manning. Garcon is a stud that just happened to be overlooked by the bigger schools. It happens all the time. Dont give Manning credit for making them players. They earned it themselves.
Also, Edgerrin James rushed for over 1,500 yards in '04. Then he did it again in '05. In '03 he ran for 1,259 yds. He also averaged 51.75 receptions a year (for four years) between '02 and '05. My point is, he was a stud. A beast. Please dont pretend that Manning has not had a running game or special players around him.
Reggie Wayne has averaged 85.71 receptions in each of the last seven seasons. Marvin Harrison averaged 100.18 in each of his first 11 seasons! Then we have Dallas Clark. He caught 100 balls this year and 77 last year. Peyton is awesome. There's no argument there. But please dont try to convince yourself that he hasn't had the players around him. He's not the only reason they win 12-14 games every year. He does have phenominal talent around him and he always has for nearly every year he's been playing. Let's not forget that.

Find me the tape of his playoff victories before this year. Roethlisberger is an ok qb. If Pitt would have had somebody better they would have lost very few games this decade.

brees has done it for 1 year, not 10+ .....
and look at the competition level.....
too bad Pittsburgh doesnt have a good qb...
You're obviously very intelligent, and I have no response. You may be a genius, and I simply cant compete with that.

Ad1620... with all due respect, how does Manning "control" the game? Just curious what you mean by that...
When he's not on the field, of course, he can't control anything. And that's roughly half the game.
I just think Brees is as good if not better. And I think the same of other QB's... Manning had a great year. He had another "Manning year". But so did Brees, Rivers, Favre, Roethlisberger, Schaub, Romo, Rodgers, and Brady. Now of course Manning is certainly better than some of those, but IMO, not all of them need to take a back seat to PM. That's just my opinion though. It should be one Hell of a game. If both QB's bring their A-game, it's anybody's guess at to which team will end up victorious.

Stats and MVP do not and should not go hand in hand.
1. I know that.
2. However, stats DO have something to do with the MVP voting.
No QB in this day age will ever win the MVP with an 80 QB
rating.
3. Read my first post again.
Just for conversation... do you have a Super Bowl prediction yet?
