How did he play in the game that mattered the most on Saturday? The regular season has nothing to do with the postseason. Over the last month Mark Sanchez has shown growth and maturity at the positon and has been making better decisions as he is finally grasping the full offense and reading coverages a lot better. Yeah he struggled in the mid part of the season, but no rookie is going to play perfect every game obviously. Remember he is still a rookie, so you cant say he hasnt impressed you. When was the last time you saw a rookie put a performance on like that in his first playoff game? Give the guy a little credit. The Jets have now one 6 of 7 games may I add.
To be honest he hasnt impressed me too much. He plays on a team with a great defense and a good running game. Yes he played well last week but it's alot easier when you have that defence and you run it at an over 2:1 ratio. Like i said the Jets will go as far as that D and running game can take them. If Sanchez gets put into a need to pass situation and succeeds THEN i will be impressed.

the Jets should be favored to win the Super Bowl... they fit the blueprint... i used to not buy into that shit, but i can't deny it anymore... if you are the team with the best defense and the best running game, you are the favorite to win the Super Bowl...
think back to that first Ravens Super Bowl win against the Giants... who was in love with Trent Dilfer? who picked them to even win a playoff game, let alone get to the Super Bowl? since then, those types of teams are regular residents at the big game...
Well if you are gonna throw out stats, how many rookie QB have won a Super Bowl? How many first year head coaches have won a Super Bowl?
Being from Cleveland, I cannot help but comment on this: Braylon Edwards drops several key passes (see TD last Sat)

i don't give a rats ass about the Bengals... i knew they were shitty going into that game... i'm not basing my picks going forward on that game, and i never based my pick on the Jets last week on the game in week 17... it is based on breaking down what they have done this year, which is much more impressive than people realize... particularly when you start to see that Sanchez is playing better than in their midseason slump...
Yeah very impressive statistically. Did you know that the Giants had the best defense in the beginning of the season? Cuz of a soft schedule. I don't consider the Jets schedule all that hard. When you have a rookie QB, you better concentrate on good D and a strong running game. Why does the Jets have one of the best run games? Cuz thats all they do. Sanchez played good cuz coaching did a good job, not because he is playing better- there is a difference.
One or two games later and you are raving that Sanchez is playing great. Just 3 games ago his rating was about 50 with 3 int. Then there was two gimme games and you are raving. Good one Genius.

Stop listening to Rex Ryan- your buying into the propaganda. What he is selling his team is great since thats the way you are suppose to rev up and motivate your team but thats his team, not the public. All coaches basically do that- Rex just likes to publicize it.

tjohn... this thread is not about Rex Ryan... i couldn't care less what a coach says about his team... in fact, i would ASSUME that every coach thinks his team should be favored to win the Super Bowl...
the point is... i think they should be favored to win the Super Bowl... at least in the sense that i would not take any team straight up at even money to beat them...
and in fact, if this week's game was a pick 'em, and i had to pick a side... i would take the Jets without hesitation...
i have seen snake oil being sold by the NFL before... it looks just like the San Diego Chargers...

MI... if not for the dropped pass by Braylon Edwards last week, that rookie QB would have had the following stat line in his first ever playoff game on the road:
13-15-250 2 TDs 0 INT
but you feel free to keep betting against a team because you have handicapped it all the way down to "i'm not betting on a rookie QB"...

I realize the Jets have the #1 rated defense, however, look at their strength of schedule and the number of teams that have offenses in the lower half.....amazing,
Their stats are inflated and they will be exposed this weekend. How? Phillip Rivers is one of the best at distributing the ball to many different receivers. You have to figure Jackson will be limited to his catches with Reves covering him, however he does have a large height differential. Chargers have so many weapons that they will get behind and force Sanchez to make plays. Jets run comes to an end....27-17 Chargers..

The Chargers run defense is actually in ranked 10th in their last 10 games. Why is it ok to quote the defensive stats of the Jets but somehow the stats of the Chargers are overated. Stats are stats:
PASSING GAME
NFL RANK: 5th in Total Passing Yards (4,024), 2nd in Points Scored (431), 3rd in Passer Rating (104.5)
NFL RANK: 3rd highest Avg Rushing Yards Allowed Per Attempt (4.5), 10th highest Avg. Rushing Yards Allowed Per Game (121.2), 6th fewest Rushing TDs Allowed (10)
PASS DEFENSE
NFL RANK: 9th fewest Avg. Yards Allowed Per Game (204.9), 5th fewest plays of 40+ Yards Allowed (6), 16th in completion percentage (60.6)
SPECIAL TEAMS PERFORMANCE
2nd most FGs made (29), 3rd most PATs made (48), 12th in Average Kick Return Yards (23)

"San Diego’s run defense has improved during its 11-game win streak. San Diego has the 12th-ranked run defense during the streak. The Chargers faced four teams that finished the season in the top 10 in rushing -- Tennessee, Dallas, Cleveland and Cincinnati -- during their win streak. So San Diego shouldn't be intimidated by the Jets’ run attack."

I am a Jet fan and like I said in a previous post, I think Rex Ryan is a crazy drunk, but he can coach. I'm trying not to get too excited because the Jets have a way of letting you down hard. I like this team a lot. I like the way it was built and I like the way they play. They will stay competitive with any team in the league and the proof is in they only lost a game by more than 10 pts once this season.
I don't know why people keep bringing up the Jets soft schedule, according to Sagarin ratings Jets SOS ranked 9th, Chargers 27th, pretty big difference there.
I think the Jets have as a good a chance as any team left, none of these teams look dominant. I love the way Sanchez is playing right now and the team showed what championship teams do they got down on the road early and didn't panic and when Cincy pulled within a TD early in the 4th Sanchez led a great drive for a FG to put the game away. That's what winning teams do.
I have my money on the Jets this week +7 and the ML just like I did last week.

wanted to leave my 2 cents and also to know where to come back on sunday night.... to either celebrate or give props
hahahah loving this thread... jet's fans drinking the kool-aid. Line is at -6.5 at my place ... all over the bolts.
Biased and going to the game ... the electric feel and vibe in this town is incredible ... this team is humble ready and focused, veteran core group of players been together many years, many playoff games together. They got off the mat early in the season , 11 straight although that means chit right now, beating the entire NFC East, traveling to TEN and spanking them in their own backyard. ready and battletested. now rested and ready to unleash on Sanchez. Def Coord Ron Rivera auditioning for future head coaching jobs.
Watched every single play, been to every game, hard to beat the Chargers at the Q. This team could have run up the score many a time and puffed up the stats, team before everything else. Philip is mad the MVP wasnt close, he wants his ring, he needs his ring, eli and ben already got theirs.
And lastly we are all bettors..... Rex already printed out every practice to every day leading to the super bowl, even included his victory parade.. NOT UNTIL THE FAT LADY, SEXY REXY

Ice you were all on Arizona last week, and now the Jets against Manning, sorry lil guy, you just don't have enough offense. Maybe next year
what language are you speaking?
i never for one minute was on Arizona... i said about 1000 times that the Saints were the right play... the only game i was on the wrong side of was Baltimore (+7)... but i also had the Colts on a ML parlay, so i lost no money on that game... hit all 3 of the others...
go away lil guy... you obviously did not watch the Jets-Chargers game if you are saying they don't have enough offense...
when you can run the ball on 1st and 2nd down EVERY SINGLE SERIES OF THE GAME... and WIN! that is as good of a playoff offense as it is possible to have...
Manning only has to throw 1 interception for the Colts to lose this game... 1... are you that sure he will have 0... that is what you're up against if you bet on the Colts this time around...
personally, i'm not in love with either side in that game... but if you are still underselling the Jets, you are pretty fuckin' clueless...

He has played well beyond my expectations ???? Really Have you watched any games this year. All Sanchez has done this year is ruin it. Once the Jets get behind watch for the walls to crumble down around this rookie
YA JB
All he has done is ruin it, All the way to the Championship
game vs the Colts. He can ruin the redskins anytime
