Ditka wasn't the greatest coach everyone makes him out to be. Without Buddy Ryan and Walter Payton, the 85 Bears don't exist.

Is this the same Mike Ditka that gave away the entire draft for Ricky Williams?

 Yes indeed the personnel on that team was top notch

But the team was 100% disciplined under Ditka and rarely got penalties because if they did they were benched!

Yeah, it's clear minority owner Tom Brady of the Raiders disagrees on his potential.  

Carroll is their  new HC. 

Bears will surprise people next year. 

That ridiculous Hail Mary when they played Washington ruined their entire season. Sucked the wind right out of them. They'll be back next year when G.B. & Minny take a step back.

As you mentioned earlier, no one knows for sure what kind of guy this will be as HC.  But , we "know" what kind of guy Pete Carroll is... He's a team leader.  We "know" Ben Johnson is a great offensive coordinator, but we don't have a clue what kind of team leader this guy will be.  Not saying he can't be something special, but the success rate on these coordinator hires as HCs seems be about 50/50 recently, at best (Add R. Saleh to the mix).   I would rather go with the more proven commodity when he's right there in front of you in the interview room.   

If Ben Johnson and his staff can put together and develop an Offensive line he will be fine.  Hopefully he picked up some grit from Dan Campbell.  His offense  in Detroit flourished with a pocket passer, I am excited to see what he does with mobility.
