It would take so so so much for a team to win back to back, even if youre dominating theres so many teams in the hunt so many teams improving and this leagues getting closer than ever. This years hawks or NEVER.
I agree. So tough to repeat in the NFL. Not to mention, when you make SB run, your top players get a TON of limelight, and thus bigger contract offers to leave, so it's a battle just to stay intact, let alone win again. I mean look how close Seattle came to not even making the SB last year? They are in a good spot thought with home field.
Of course, some people here didn't even think the Seahawks would make the playoffs.

(sorry, had to keep that one!!)
For argument's sake, here is how I see it breaking down. Mind you, I had Pitt winning today, so not exactly nailing them down of late.
I think Cowboys win (I am a Dallas fan,so take it for what it's worth). Detroit can give them a game if they can attack through the air enough, but Dallas is balanced enough on offense to get the win. Not sure on the cover though.
I have Indy winning, but a tough game to call, mostly because Cinci has been inconsistent this year. No AJ Green will hurt, however, Colts D can be soft, and during the season, when Green was out, they utilized Sanu differently, so maybe he could factor in.
For argument's sake, let's say both faves win.
Ravens at Pats -- Pats peaked in the 2nd half of the season for sure. A healthy Gronk + a healthy merry-go-round of RB's = success. Ravens have been up and down, and I am not overly impressed of late. Have to roll with Pats here, no big shocker. I think they win by 6-7. Not sure where line is, if it's even out yet.
Colts/Bengals at Denver -- Don't see either team winning at Denver. Colts lost there earlier this year. Cincy won at home vs. Denver a couple weeks ago. I didn't see that one, but I highly doubt the results will be the same with Denver rested and ready, not to mention at home. Colts might actually have a better shot if they can attack enough, and get some breaks.
So, that means Denver goes back to New England for a rematch. Flip a coin. Will be a HUGE game. Any of you conspiracy theorists should have your head checked if you think anything other than THIS match up will happen (for the record, I am not one of those). This will be the final show down between Manning and Brady, in any real game of significance.
NFC. Assuming chalk wins Sunday. Dallas will have to travel to Green Bay. Is Rodgers 100%? I don't think so. But, is he healthy enough to expose Dallas' sometimes soft D?? Pack D isn't exactly top notch either. I don't think Dallas is Super Bowl quality, but you never know. I think they can pull the upset. If by chance Lions win Sunday, then Pack beats Carolina by 10+.
Other game in NFC will be Carolina at Seattle. Sorry Panthers, this is your end. Seattle is beatable, but no way I trust Cam to go into that environment and thrive. They'll need breaks galore. Now, their D is solid and Seattle may not win pretty, but they'll get it done. This ain't Lindley and X RB's coming at them, it's Wilson, Lynch and co. Different story. If Lions win, then they go down in Seattle as well.
So, the million dollar question is, can Green Bay or Dallas go to Seattle and get a win?? I say possible, yes, probable, no. I think Packers have best chance, if Rodgers is 100%. Seattle is not usually a high octane offense, so perhaps they won't expose either defense for what it is. But, for purposes of making predictions, I will say that Seattle will win, but not cover in the NFC title game.
So, it's Denver/New England vs. Seattle in the Super Bowl. A lot of good story lines in both for sure. Probably a short line, and I have to think AFC gets a slight edge. As we've covered, so tough to repeat. And, again, for you "fixed" theorists, getting Brady or Manning another ring now would be fitting.
Only team I can see throwing a major wrench in the plans is the Colts. Takes a good QB to make a run in most years, and they have one. Just think they might be a year or two away from being a legit contender. Hey, I could be wrong.
Listen, I know I get argumentative on here, and disagree with a lot of the core concepts some of you knuckleheads bring to the table. But hey, it's the internet, so deal with it. I'm sure in "real life" most of you are solid people and we'd probably get along (that is until you get annoyed with me thinking I'm right all the time.) So I wish you all a Happy New Year, and may everyone have a great 2015!
