Here’s why I think the Raiders will struggle tonight.
Los Angeles Rams @ Oakland Raiders
Normally I would go against teams trying to incorporate a
bunch of free agents together as a question of how well they will mesh as well
as how fast. The Rams took on a lot of new players on defense, but Wade
Phillips is the top defensive coordinator in the league. The Rams being 6 point
road favorites here in week 1 to the Raiders is pretty crazy, but on top of the
public love for LA, it’s obvious Vegas has a ton of confidence in Phillips.
This guy is 12-1 SU, and 10-3 ATS with extra time to prepare
over the past few seasons - winning by
an average of 13 points while holding opposing offenses to 16 ppg in those
games. Additionally, the one game his team lost (12-1 SU record above), was
against the Chiefs in 2016 where they lost by 3, in a game that the Chiefs
scored 9 points off a kickoff return and safety (none of it being Phillips
defense fault).
The Raiders have a new WR, a new TE, a new offensive
coordinator, and a new head coach. Too many changes on offense in the first
game of the season, going against what will be a top 3 defense in the league
this year. I think the Raiders will struggle converting first downs in this game.
I'm on the Raiders TT under for tonight. I also considered playing the Rams, but lost way too much value now that they are laying -6, so i'll pass on that.
Raiders Under 23 -133 (3x)
NFL YTD: 4-1 +13.15 units

Took Rams yesterday afternoon at -4.... am just now debating adding to my position with 6 pt -110 of Rams to win & under 53.5 but think I'll sit tight... Let's get it!

Gezz that's a great number. My book has them at 20.5. GL bro!
Bought a couple points (just because I lost value in waiting so long). Was -133 on 5dimes when posting this. Now up to -141 looking at it now. Would still play the same amount - 23 gives us an extra key total #

i Understand the rams over paying everyone - there trying to win the LA market - im never a big fan of hype teams- still gotta go on the field and execute - talib and suh are major head Case? Gurley/Donaldson got pay big bucks? Is the motivation still there? Don’t think Goff is that good - the greatness of the raiders +6

hype teams usually fair below expectations. not when they are well coached. we'll see how they pan out

I'll edit and use the worse juice on the play in terms of the record since the line changed so quickly (to reflect the current line on 5dimes)Raiders Under 23 -141 (3x)Rams PK / Under 54.5 -120 (1x)NFL YTD: 4-1 +13.15 units
Honestly don't understand why you'd go for the parlay at -120 instead of just Rams-6 at -110. At that point seems dumb to bet.

Players still have to play the game. Raiders have a lot to prove. I don’t think Goff has a snap in preseason. Does timing make a difference. My gut says OAK + 6 and Under whatever the total.
But Gruden is a grinder. He’s going to muck this up. The defense will be better even w/o Mack.

Rams is 2011 eagles - I seen this story before - guys get paid and feeling themselves- they think just showing up will result in a win - (Not easy when you can’t sneak up on teams anymore !!
