There is another reason that he wouldn’t run for the TD…he wants to save his defense and any special teams from taking the field after. The team is gassed on a night game. They have to fly out either that night for the next morning. For the sake of just leaving the stadium they want to end it. Between more injuries and simply time, it’s best to get the victory on the fast track.

OK, its actually pretty simple. Nobody in the history of the NFL has fumbled away a snap on a kneel down. EVER. Literally last season, Nick Chubb for the Browns scored a TD right after the two minute warning to go up 30-17. The JETS came back and won the game 31-30. LAST SEASON. That should be all you need to know. Of course sliding was the right decision.
people cannot think rationally when the play involves a spread/losing a bet. at the end of Superbowl 46, the Giants coaches/Eli Manning tried to have Bradshaw slide rather than get the TD-which gave the Pats extra time; The safe play was to kick a walk-off field goal, but Bradshaw accidentally fell in the end-zone. Pats let him roll in to get the ball back with some time left. With the Mahomes play it was even simpler-take knees and not even have to kick a chip shot FG (which still has a small risk of being blocked)...

@vanzack https://youtu.be/DWGCeMNmyV0?si=Jx0Io1S06xpja5Fb I think you owe someone an apology
This play was not a basic kneel down in victory formation. The score was tied and SD were trying to bleed clock for a game ending FG.
The overall debating skills of the covers retarted fixnation in 2023 is at an all time low...matching the country's lowest overall IQ and test scores in the history of IQ and test scores.
How does this conversation turn into leftist douchbag and vaccine nonsense? The answer: People with Low IQ, who almost always come out to play on covers after the game ends and they realize another $5 wager has been lost again due to their extremely consistent "bad luck".
Victory Belongs to the Most Tenacious

It was still a kneel down and Rivers fumbled it. Nothing in sports is guaranteed. The correct, but not popular play is what Maholmes did which was take the slide. I happened to be on the right side this time which made up for the bad beat(s) in ND vs OSU last week and Duke vs ND this week.

Absolutely the right decision. Kc backers caught a bad beat no doubt. But any time a team can kneel down 3 times and run the clock to zero it’s always the right call. Fumbling the snap on a kneel down would never even cross the minds of the coaches or players. On the other hand KC knows that it is possible for the other team to score twice in a minute and a half because they can do it.

Exactly what I was going to post. The ball was handed off repeatedly, they had a situation where you can get the first and not deal with special teams/def. Reid could get to the buffett quicker (we have seen the commercial) .

Your analogy doesn't work; one is an official with the ability to change the course of a game via certain calls, multiple times in a single game. A conspiracy is a planned out set of events, hammered out in advance, i.e. Donaghy had inside info, sources to rely that info and a means to profit from it.
Mahomes' team was winning, likely the final offensive play of the game. He wanted to throw for a TD, didn't have it. What are elite QB's known for? Coming up with a Plan B. Mahomes wasn't chased out of the pocket, he had room to run. He saw the marker, and slid feet first. Tell me that's not brilliant. Game over, doesn't have to subject his D or special teams to any more work.
The randomness of sport allows things like this to happen. Was it also the Chiefs intent to allow Zach Wilson look like Aaron Rodgers for a good part of that game?
If the Chiefs are so good that they can control the tempo of a game for purposes of gambling then my god they will be unstoppable for years to come.

This is no scandal. Mahomes did nothing wrong.

Big surprise the anti-vax crowd is also the NFL is fixed crowd.
Putting ones life in harm's way by taking a vaccine that has not been tested may not have been your sharpest bet. Your choice of course and I hope that all lefties take the same leap of faith that you have made. I don't risk my life on non vetted shots and that doesn't make me or anyone else who refuses the current ones anti vax.
If she wins in November, may God help us all. The fate of the nation hangs in the balance.

What did you think of the Mahomes slide and do you think the NFL is fixed?

Just a couple of weeks ago , LA Rams took a FG with 4 secs left when they were down 10 points and everyone said the score will help a tie breaker down the road .
Two weeks later , Patrick is so smart to take the knee so they will be 100% win the game .
Do I agree with the slide and take the win ? Yes ! Do I agree with the FG Rams took with 4 secs left when they were down by 10 ? No
People just need to stop the double standard shxt ……and btw , I won on both games because I was lucky enough to have a teaser instead.
