Yeah, I’m not doing that. No point in hedging until they get their third win, so won’t be betting on Texans game this week.

I don't understand how so many are soo cut and dry about hedging.. hell most casual bettors look at me sideways when I tell them the possibility of hedging on a stupid long 7 plus teamer they shouldn't have done anyway that gets lucky.. comes down to the last game, and the math somehow makes no sense to them. If you are in this thing long term, taking guaranteed money at the right price is always a valid option..
As for this circumstance, I'd ride this one out and see what happens in this game today.

I guess you can be more stupid. Not protecting the 10k dumbass. That’s not at risk. The hedge is meant to protect the $8k. And that isn’t at risk until AFTER this win. Your hedge was useless. I know you’re too stupid to understand this so I won’t try to explain it to your tiny brain anymore.

1k bet on Houston ML would have profit of 5k plus the the profit from the Houston ML vs Jaguars ($2400) = $7400…
now Houston is 4-11 meaning you are currently at a Push on your 10k with the 49ers and Titans left .. hmmm sure that 10k is secure as. You mentioned above ???

It is highly unlikely that it happened (I would say impossible), he only mentioned selling it after he got called out by someone for not hedging and Houston won the 4th game.
How many people do you know that would pay 15,000 for a 10,000 dollar ticket, that has to lose the last 3 games to cash in?
Unless he knew a rich moron, who doesn't follow sports, no way would someone do that.
The ticket is toilet paper now, the story was probably made up (just like the people who claim to bet 100,000 on games), nobody that has 10,000 to bet, would ask for advice and not take any advice.
He was calling someone names that gave him great advice, sounds legit to me.

You're right. These guys get an idea in their head and just assume they know everything. The odds were 68% that they would lose the last 3 games and 32% that they would win one or more. So the guy I sold to figured it was statistically worth $15,440 and paid $15000. It isn’t rocket science. No longer care about the bet so these guys can speculate/fantasize all they want.

It's only worth $15,440 if you assume 0% likelihood of the ticket completely losing.
68% chance of it winning and 32% chance of it pushing makes it worth $15,440. But the numbers you gave in post #1 make it closer to 50% chance of them winning 1 of last 3. Sorry but I'm with the others, no way in fking hell some guy just handed you $15k for a ticket where he at best stands to win $3k and now could easily lose the whole $15k but has already lost $5k.
No, you saw they were 2-11 and thought it would surely win so you decided you bet $10k on it ( but of course made no mention of it until they were 2-11). Then you got into an argument and ended up being 100% wrong so of course you sold the ticket. By the way, in Nevada a $10k bet will have a screenshot of you when you bought the ticket, doesn't matter who you "sold" it to. It's your ticket. You tell them, hey I lost the ticket, they won't pay him, they will pay you. He is a real trusting guy with terrible math skills and $15,000. Lol. ROFLMAO.
