I typed up a big writeup, hit submit, and then the covers software decided it didnt like it so I lost it.
This is the summary....
I think TN will be able to run the ball, and I anticipate SF not being able to run as well as they need to to keep Garappolo from throwing (and likely a few picks). There is more, happy to discuss if people want.
TN +7.5 (3 units) and +275 (.5 unit) GB +7.5 (3 units) and +280 (.5 unit)

Vanz, this is like the 10th time this has happened to you. You are a smart guy. The first time I lost my writeup I learned to type it in another program or gmail before posting it.

Yeah - I know. But I do this when I have time, and today the time was writing this on my phone while my family spends all my money buying stuff they dont need. Chalk it up to technical deficiencies on my part, and incaptcha codes that are defective.

I have the Niners even though I dont disagree with you if that makes sense. I'm not sure how much success Rodgers will have vs the Niners D who appears healthy.
I want to see Andy Reid win a big game. Bill Obrien literally couldn't have managed a worse game after the 1st Q vs KC.....KC will surely try and stack the box to stop Henry, but people are acting like Tannehill isnt a capable QB. Theres nothing scary about the Chiefs D.....Supposed to be pretty cold with some wind so that helps Tenn....
Any thoughts on totals? I got O46 and U53....
You coming over to college hoops soon!!??

I lost so many long posts on Covers. Got to the point where every time I finish a paragraph, highlight and copy. Finish next paragraph. Highlight and copy. Finish totally. Highlight and copy before hitting POST.
Then if it gets lost in the Covers matrix, open up a new thread and right click and paste.
That said, I’ll forget to do that one day I’m in a hurry, and I’ll lose my post

I think Rodgers success is no secret - get more than 3 seconds to throw the ball, and have an effective running game. The Niners defensive seasonal stats are heavily affected by their first 7 games - which were stellar. If you take their last 9 games - not so much - ranking in the middle of the NFL in most adjusted defensive stats. Yes, I realize this correlates with their injuries - and now they are healthy - so you could make the argument that the first 7 games are more indicative of how they will perform on Sunday.
To me - if you stop SF run - you will beat them. I don't see Garappolo having some big passing day to beat GB.
The only total I would bet is TN KC under. Just think the possessions will be shortened, and TN will have a concerted effort to not only keep the clock running, but use the playclock. Running on both sides means less turnovers - just could see an under although I wont bet it.

Why do you think SF won't be able to run?Good Luck Van
I expect GB to stack the box, and make SF throw. Garappolo throws several a game up for grabs, it will be a question of whether GB can make those count.
Worst case, if SF can run effectively, it should shorten the game and I like 7.5 anyway. Just a case of too many points. I would put the line at SF -4.5, and KC about the same.

Garappolo is towards the bottom of the league in INT %, throwing 4 times as many INT per attempt than Rodgers (who is best in NFL).
Rodgers might not be effective on Sunday - but he probably wont turn it over either. The achilles heel of SF is if Garappolo is forced to throw as option 1. I will take my chances in that case.

This is a common view point from Packers backers this week. Could it happen? Sure, but I can’t tell you that the real Achilles heel for Garappolo this season is the very tight windows he has attempted to squeeze the ball into in the middle of the field. This isn’t a knock on him, per se, but it’s actually more of a concern due to his receivers. Most of Garappolo’s interceptions have been due to tipped/dropped balls in the middle of the field, that were actually perfectly thrown balls. So the concern (to me), isn’t Jimmy G,‘it’s the Niners receivers catching the ball over the middle of the field, like they are supposed to. Now if we are talking downfield, this is where Garappolo there is no veracity to interception concerns as he has been one of the most efficient downfield passers in the NFL this season, especially with passes of 20 yards or more.

I know people now will point to his poor vision/throws last week against the Vikings, but that was an anomaly. During the regular season, Garappolo in 5 games against playoff teams (SEA x 2, BAL, NO, GB), he was:

The NFC championship seems like a toss up , I don't think there is anyway the WWE allows the Titans to win .....If it's close late , look for KC to get away with murder , whilebTony flags the heck out of the Titans .

I also disagree on Jimmy G. He was great down the stretch in road games at Baltimore, New Orleans, and Seattle. All playoff type games in three stadiums that are Top 5 loudest in the league. He completed at least 71% in all three games with ratings of 110, 132, and 119 and only threw one pick.
The only way SF loses is if the GB pass rush gets there. But Green Bay's run defense stinks so I expect SF to have a field day running and Shanahan to also mix in motions/screens/misdirections to keep that rush honest - he's the best play designer in the league and knows if the pass rush is kept at bay they are going to Miami.
Conversely KC knows the only think stopping them from getting to Miami is Henry. I expect a concerted effort to put 8-9 guys in the box. Tennessee's defense also sucks so I expect KC to get to a lead. When TEN is forced to pass in this game in pressure spots I think everyone is suddenly going to wonder what the hell they were doing betting on Ryan Tannehill on the road in the AFC Championship game, he hasn't faced a second of adversity in the playoffs. When TEN won 35-32 earlier this year the Chiefs dominated that game and that was in TEN in Mahomes' first game back. Some fluky turnovers and special teams/blocked kicks got TEN the win.

Sf not being able to run the ball on one of the lower end rush d's in the nfl???? Ok. Jimmy g played flawless against gb last time, but anticipate multiple picks ok

I like the picks. I already bet Tennessee. I am still on the fence for the GB/SF game. I am thinking OVER will be a better play. There will be score tomorrow. One of these two teams will have to abandon the run.

BOL vanzack, I like your thoughts. Of course, the clear favorite winner is the Niners and everything points to it. But we have seen year after year, crazy stuff just keeps happening this deep in the playoffs. As a packers fan, I hope my team can find a way but if the Niners win, I likely will not be too upset since that team in SF is just unbelievable and they deserve all respect. But, crazier stuff has for sure happened in the NFL. heck even in the past couple weeks...BOL
