Last week was one of the most unluckiest weeks I've had in years.
Let's recap shall we?
Browns +6.5 - Browns miss the cover by 1.5 points despite shutting out the Ravens through nearly 3 quarters.
Saints -3 - Saints miss the cover by 1 point despite the Bucs not scoring 1 point on offense.
Panthers -2.5 - Panthers lose the cover and the game on the final play of the game.
Rams +6.5 - Rams miss the cover by 0.5 point.
Steelers +7 - Steelers miss the cover by 3 points thanks to two turnovers in CIN redzone and a random tripping call that negated a very long play. Any of these plays don't happen and the Steelers possibly win SU.
I'm determined to bounce back this week and am going to pad my plays with teasers on the backend to ensure these unlucky beats don't phase me again.
San Diego Chargers @ Tenneesee Titans
The Titans gameplanned all off-season for the Texans as it's there biggest divisional rival and a team they would have to defeat in order to win their division. They were in command late in the game to win yet shot themselves in the foot and ended up losing in overtime. For a team to prepare for months for one team and lose the way they did, they have to be emotionally drained. There's also a great situational play going against the Titans this week. In the past 15 years, teams who lose a road overtime game then returne home the following week are 49-67-3 ATS (42%). The Chargers look improved this season and Phillip Rivers looks like he's sick of people bashing his play. I like the Chargers in this one.
Houston Texans @ Baltimore Ravens
The Ravens have quickly become one of the most underrated teams in the NFL. The Bengals have already been crowned the AFC North division while everyone has seem to forget about the Ravens after there beatdown to the Broncos and the near victory to the Browns. In my opinion, the Ravens defense can be even better than it was last year. They faced a Manning led Broncos team who prepared for the Ravens for months to get there playoff revenge out of their mind and still had a lead in the third quarter before losing there best tackle to an injury leading to there offense not being able to sustain drives. The Texans meanwhile, are a bit overrated at this point. They needed a miracle and a Chargers meltdown to win in week 1 and escaped a near defeat to the Titans last week. They could easily be 0.2. The Texans thumped the Ravens in HOU last year and I think the Ravens will give the thumping right back this Sunday.
Cleveland Browns @ Minnesota Vikings
Everyone keeps saying how are the Browns going to score now with Richardson gone well I'm thinking the opposite. How are the Vikings going to score? The Browns have limited Daniel Thomas to 1.8 YPC, Ray Rice to 2.8 YPC, and Bernard Pierce to 3.0 YPC with there very stout overall defense. The Vikings are 0-2 so far and will be desperate this game but I don't think Ponder can lead them on his own against a top ranked defense. Jarred Allen said week 2 against the Bears was a must-win for there team, what an emotional defeat that was losing on the final play of the game. Add in the fact that 90% of all bets are on the Vikings this week and I see a SU Browns win.
