Esplanade, they obviously still did not get your post...Dense is a loose term with these guys...
Guys, what Esplanade is commenting on is Pitt's D (nothing else) and the fact that 40% of their schedule is against teams with horrible offenses....horrible offenses... A little smoke and mirrors
Basically, I could get a group of 11 together and easily be a top 10 defense in the NFL with their schedule...
Again, this is only talking about their D, not anything else...
............Really dude...........for your argument to be true, would it not then hold that Arizona's offense is also a fraud for playing in the most pathetic division in the NFC and playing 6 games against 3 teams with 13 combined wins? You are a jive turkey!
AFC NORTH

NFC West
Arizona 11-7

SOLID ARGUMENT.............guess you weren't captain of the debate team!!

Blckndglfn - Here buddy... I posted it again for you. See, up there where is says that I'm ONLY TALKING ABOUT PITT D. Not anything else. Do you understand what that means...? That means, I was only talking about the Pitt D not the AZ offense...
Incase you forgot already, I will post it again...
I'M ONLY TALKING ABOUT THE PITT D, NOTHING ELSE...
Now, if you would like to talk about the AZ offense, I will be glad to comment on that as well...but for my post above....I was only talking about...come on...who was I talking about?

Arizona will light up Pitt's secondary all day, the Steelers will not stop the medium or long pass, just cant do it. The only way the Steelers stop Zona is if Zona decides to pass short or they decide to run the ball all game, haha, which isnt going to happen. I just wish the bowl was played a week after the championships. I hate this 2 weeks off b.s.

First to mention Arizona plays extremely well at home. They are a totally different team at home then on the road or at a nuturel site in which the Superbowl will be at. Quick stat to keep in mind, Arizona is 6-2 at home. They are just 4-5 on the road.
Looking at this game, this is a very intresting match up. One of the better offenses in Arizona Vs. the best defense in Pittsburgh. When braking down this game, Pittsburgh should dominate thorughout the game. Here is why they dominate and go on to win this game.
This year Pitt has one of the best defenses of all time. First off Arizona thrives on the pass and they struggle to run the ball game in and game out. In fact Arizona is ranked dead last in the NFL with the run. Pitt is ranked first against the pass allowing just 156.9 ypg. Pitt is also 2nd vs the run. There will be no way Arizona will move the ball vs Pitt. Pitt also loves to blitz as they are without a doubt the best blizting team in the NFL. For NFL standards Warner is conderised very old and also very immobile. There is no way Warner can escape Pitt's blitz.
We see that Arizona is ranked #4 in total offense in which they gained 365 ypg. After taking a closer look at the offensive numbers this year, these offensive numbers is nothing but a big FRAUD. They have by far the weakest division in all of football. They got to play all these teams twice. These teams includes St Louis ranked 28, Seattle ranked 30 and San Fransisco ranked 13 in total defense. In those 6 games they averaged 403 ypg. That is almost 40 ypg better then their season average. Play those very weak teams will make any offesne look much better then it really is. Arizona played 6 teams that are ranked in the top 10 in total defense. These teams include Giants, Cowboys, Redskins, Eagles (twice), Vikings, and Patriots. In these 7 games they averaged a mere 298 ypg. I repeat they averaged just 298 ypg!! That is a dismal 67 yards below their season average. This will be by leaps and bounds the best defense Arizona will face all year. Pitt will shut down Arizona!
The most suprising stat of this match up is on the defensive side of the ball. Pittsburgh is ranked #1 in total defense and statistically I repeat statistically one of the top 5 or 6 defenses of ALL TIME!! Arizona is ranked #19 in total defense and #28 in points allowed. Important to note Seattle ranked 28th, St Louis ranked 27th and San Fransico ranked 23 in total offense. Still with these 6 easy games Arizona still cant stop anyone. Big Ben, Willie Parker, Hines Ward, Santonio Holmes and crew will rip through that weak very soft defense.
Pittsburgh has the most underrated offense in all of the NFL. Pitt will put points up no doubt about it. How you ask? Yes I know they are ranked just 22th in total offense. Take a look at their schedule and you will see why. Pitt has faced 9 out of the top 12 defenses in the NFL. That includes a stagering 11 out of their 16 games in which they had to face a defense that was ranked 12th or better. I repeat 11 out of the 16 games. Some experts say that Pittsburgh played the toughest scdedule they have ever seen.
Pittsburgh's record is 14-4 and Arizona's record is 12-7. Pitt had the toughest schedule in the NFL. Pitt has faced 10 different teams that have a record of 500 or better. That is 10 out of their 13 teams Pitt has faced. Still with all of this Pittsburgh has a much better record then Arizona and one of the top defenses of all time!!
Bottom line Arizona is no where near the class of Pittsburgh. Pittsburgh the much better team. They are the best team in the NFL. Pittsburgh will win by at least 14 points
Superbowl 2009 besides the pro bowl it will be the last game for the next 7 months or so. GO BIG and GL to all
Pittsburgh ML 20 units to win 7
Pittsburgh Speard -6.5 hook (-120) 10 units

IMO.. Line about right.. Tough to call a Pitt blowout because they blow almost nobody out due to their medicore at best offense ( Wont get into the root of the problem being the ofensive coordinator).. But not buying into the new and improved Card defense either.. Playing better for sure but in all 3 playoff games they have had recievers running free way to many times for my liking.. Have run through the raindrops so far .. Lets see if it continues.. Ben likes to extend plays that could be trouble for the Cards secondary.. Fitz will get his no matter what.. BUT dont let one bad play by Ike Taylor fool you he can play CB with the best of them. All corners get burnt but Ike has shut down some good WR,s this year and in the past.. Between Ike and Mcfadden Pitt has one of the best CB combo in the NFL IMO.. Both young and atletic.. Should be a good one but Pitts defense will be the difference in the end.. They will make more stops then the Cards defense by the end of the day.. Pitt 27- Cards 17...

I find it funny that Arizonas offensive numbers make them a big fraud because they play in the worst division, but Pitts defensive numbers are legit because they play in the 2nd worst division which boasts the 31st & 32nd ranked offenses in the NFL.....yeah thats DEAD LAST??
You say those offenses are bad because of Pitt, how come the NFC WEST isnt bad defensively BECAUSE of Arizona??
Please clarify yourself.....if you can.

Ok? They ripped Carolina? So you'r trying to tell me that they play better on the road? What's your point here, they had a good game. Record is still 4-5 on the road. 6-2 at home. Still a different team at home

Pretty much you are going to attack every Steelers backer huh....
Nope. I never said Pittsburgh didnt have a chance. These people are saying Arizona will get CRUSHED and then put up Pitts #1 defense and at the same time say Arizonas offensive numbers are bogus (read above post)......just dont like it. Of course Pitt "should" win, after all, they are the favorite.....

Fact when Arizona plays a top 10 defense. THEY TEND TO STRUGGLE! There is no doubt about it.
Ok so the AFC north is bad? Wow you really wanna go there? Pitt played Eagles, Giants, Cowboys, Indy, SD twice, Patriots, and Houston. All these team ranked in upper half in total offense. Lets take a quick look at how they did. In these games lets see how much yards the Steelers gave up.
Eagles 260 yards
Houston 234 yards
Indy 290 yards
Giants 282
SD 218, 290
New England 267 yards
Cowboys 289
Not a single team has gained over 300 yards on them? You still wanna question their defense? The BEST DEFENSE in the NFL period!

SOLID ARGUMENT.............guess you weren't captain of the debate team!!
Fact when Arizona plays a top 10 defense. THEY TEND TO STRUGGLE! There is no doubt about it.
It's comments like these that make me think that some people really, really lack common sense...
Were you on a different planet this past Sunday?
Um, Philly's D is #3 in the NFL and Arizona just put up 32 on them last week. And, if Philly played in the second worst division in the NFL like Pitt did this year and played the #32 and #31 worst offensive teams in the NFL TWICE each, like Pitt did this year, Philly would be #1.

You want a cookie for that? 1 good game. Horray for you. Does this game allow to forget all the other games they struggled with top 10 defenses!! Read a few posts above this. Pitt played quite a few offenses that have fire power. Guess what they shut them down
