Yeah there are stats like that, I won't deny them they are bullshit I agree. There isn't enough of a sample size throughout an entire career for them to be meaningful let alone a game or season. But with regards to the passer rating thing...It's only a telling stat if you have one QB who is near 120+ and another below like 60. The extremes of the passer rating might mean something. If you are 143.2 then you had a damn good game it would be hard to argue that yeah, and if you had a 50 passer rating it would obviously be a bad game. When you start to pick apart passer ratings by single points and the difference of 110 and 100 or 100 and 90 for that matter even 100 or 80. THEY MEAN NOTHING.
If you would have read my thing closer I said they don't blow out teams because first off they don't have the personal on offense to do so. No running game, no consistent play fromt the offensive line. And because the Steelers are much more concerned with clock management and ball control rather than running up the score.
What number do you wear? 
Yes they won the SB, very good! But I would have loved to have seen the Colts win OT coin flip againest Chargers and Titans not hand the Ravens a win with there TOs or maybe Plax doesnt shoot himself and maybe Mcnabb and eagles dont choke. All teams that that beat the Steelers this year . I'll even throw in maybe Brady doesnt get injured. At least that way they would have had to play a team with a defense and an offense in the playoffs. Would have loved to have seen a Colts-Steelers and or Titans-Steelers matchup in playoffs. Oh and maybe a team with an above average defense represent the NFC in the SB. But ya Steelers are amazing. 
They crushed an average team by a big 4 points.

If the Titans did not CHOKE they MIGHT have won against the Ravens.
If Plax had a water pistol they MIGHT have beat the Eagles.
If McNabb had any BALLS they MIGHT have beat the Cards.
Facts are that those teams were NOT deserving of being Champs or else they would have adavanced when it counted. 
This guy obviously knows what he's talking about and tells it like it is. It's real difficult to sift through these threads and weed out all the Steelers homers who are simply out of touch with reality...
AGAIN, congratulations to the Steelers, they deserve the trophy...
HOWEVER, Ben Worthlessberger is not a top QB, not even close. He has the top defense in the league carrying him this season and he had one of the best the last time they won it. If the Steelers had a good QB to go with that amazing defense they would be BLOWING EVERY TEAM OUT, THEY WOULD BE KILLING EVERYBODY, but, because of his poor play (inaccurate passes, taking too many sacks, untimely interceptions and fumbles, etc.) they still have to struggle to win almost EVERY game. Do they win? YES, they win. AGAIN, no doubt about that. BUT, if Ben was so great they wouldn't even be in these situations in the 4th quarter, the games should be over at halftime or at least by the end of the 3rd quarter. With all the records this defense set, including the fewest points allowed BY FAR, they should simply be trouncing opponents IF they had a good QB. So c'mon Steeler homers, wake up and realize this is the truth. If he's so good, why do they still struggle to get the wins in the 4th? The games should already be over, shouldn't they?
Ben is not a good QB. Oh, and he was clearly outplayed by Kurt Warner...check the passer ratings.
Tom Brady = ELITE.......playing behind a defense that isnt even remotely close to the STEELERS defense,and gettin to the superbowl.
lets hear it how brady didnt win the superbowl and ben did, and then ill let you hear how bradys defense didnt help him with an instant 14pt turnaround with a 100yd defensive touchdown....people dont give the defense enough credit, and to me its just fucking hilarious.
