This is going to be a real football game folks. From the coaching to the personal, we should have our selves some good tv. Here's some of my thoughts from the box earlier today:
The Bears ML is the only way to go for SNF.
They've been resting Trubisky for this game. He could of played vs the Giants(if they needed that game) but they didn't. 2 weeks of Chase Daniels plays gives the opponent zero tape of what gets called tonight.
I think Nagy has been preparing plays for this game for a few weeks now. The Rams defense can be beat by scheme. The jet sweeps, shovel passes, screens and lateral stuff is the perfect way to gas out good DT's. And that's what the Rams have w/ Donald and Suh. The Rams got nothin on the edge.
The Bears secondary had it's first hiccup last week. And that was a trick play when odb threw to Sheppard. Right play at the right time. Give em a mulligan.
I'll say it for the 47th time, they are still the best secondary in the NFL. Toughest test for Goff and the Rams to date. This is one where Cooper Kupp will be missed imo. Bears dime safety Sherick McManis missed the Giants game. He's probable today. He has an 89.9 grade by pff which is .1 shy of a "high quality" rating. Next to the Bears Nickel corner Bryce Callahan(best in the biz) it will be tough to try 11 personnel or 4 wideout sets.
The wildcard will be Todd Gurley. Personally I think Saquon Barkley is a better running back from an athletic standpoint, and he made some incredible plays vs the Bears. I just gotta think the Bears will be much more focused for Gurley. Roquon Smith is fast sideline to sideline. And Trevathon has been solid all year long.
The last time the Rams played outdoors in the cold was at Denver on Oct 14. It was in the low 20's. Gurley ran for 208 yards and the Rams won 23-20.
I'm sure they'll try to run again but the Bears run defense at home allows only 66 ypg.
Should be a great game, especially from a scheme and play calling perspective from these "new aged" coaches. Who wins ultimately could come down to the best situational awareness and the correct coaching moves. Both coaches know what they're doing.
Wade Phillips and Vic Fangio are the best in the business coaching the defensive side of the ball, and going up against 2 up and coming offensive minds in Nagy and McVay.
It's gonna be a chess match

i think they bottle up Gurley and force Goff to play into Bears coverage. i see two INTs coming for Goff, the turnover battle will be very important in this game. Bears defense has the edge in turnovers
gonna be the Mack vs Donald show. cant wait
Sip on that plus money honey!

Nice job by Bears defense to clamp down after Trubisky's wild throw. Trubisky will be a solid QB once he learns how to control those overthrows which he's struggled with so far in his career.
