Almost forgot about the Patriots offensive line which has been so dominant that the Chargers & Chiefs weren't even able to touch Brady. And KC was known for having a great pass rush. That, too, really helps to open up many options for the Patriots offense.
I'm just saying don't downplay this team. I respect your points about the Rams.

Patriots have plenty of options. James White can play a very big role in the receiving game, Hogan can get things done, occasionally Patterson/Dorsett can step up when needed on certain plays. I don't believe they will be able to neutralize both Gronk and Edelman, they'll just limit their impact to some extent.
The most overlooked thing is that thanks to their great scheming and having precise Brady delivering the ball this team can make a lot out of a receiving corps that definitely lacks talent. Combine that with Michel who is doing a really awesome job running the ball, they're quite a tough offense to stop. Every team knows who they need to stop on this Patriots offense, but do they pull it off?
Don't underestimate what Patriots have been doing on defense either. They have been quite tough, it's just nearly impossible to hold back that KC offense.
31 points in the second half and 24 4th quarter points isn’t tough

I’m not downplaying them! It’s the opposite. It’s the public overplaying. They’re the ones laying points on a neutral field!
Who here is foolish enough think the Rams are 6 point dogs in NE and a pickum at home????????
That’s what this line says...

Lol. No. I’ve been to Vegas 6 times. Loved it every time. But I have Vegas right here on my phone now with legalized gambling!
There's a LOT more in vegas than gambling!! I am shocked how many people think Las Vegas is only casinos. This is by far the best(and most exciting) city in the world, with the most opportunities as well as things to do and see. They have everything here except a real beach and maybe a zoo. But you have Mandalay Bay, and Lake Meade. And for the zoo you can go over near Twain and Swenson and admire the animals outside. It's a free roaming zoo over in those parts. LOTS to do brotha. No reason not to come here.

The NFL PUT, yes PUT the Rams in the SB. That's enough to drive ticket sales and strengthen the fanbase in LA.
THAT IS AS FAR AS IT GOES.........
PATS win, and Belichick retires.
BRADY stays in NE to try and win a 7th title WITHOUT Belichick, and thereby quell those "Belichick made Brady" noises that often creep up.
This also helps the media tenfold, in that they will now have an endless topic to debate: who was better in their sport: MJ or Brady? Both will have 6 rings.
You heard it here first, and you're welcome.......
THE PICK: PATS ML
OVER 57.5
If you are the NFL, you do not escort the Rams into the show only to have them shut out on a world stage............this one sails over the total.

That's a matter of just being so hard to stop the KC offense when Patrick and his guys are playing with nothing to lose. No one else has ever shutout the KC offense in a half of play.
KC's QB is the best counter to an NE defense that's strong because it's so well trained by great coaching. He's super unpredictable, he's mobile, he has amazing arm strength, he has great accuracy and can make just about any throw. Can't really prepare for him through an entire game. Goff is a very different story.

For those who are not blind, and know the Illuminati exists:
BELICHICK IS 66 YEARS OLD (6 + 6)
BRADY WEARS NUMBER 12 (6 + 6)
= 6 + 6
EACH GOING FOR RING NUMBER 6 AS PATRIOTS
= 6 + 6 + 6
Also, Belichick's 1st ring as a Patriot came against........yup.........the RAMS.
Now, he will have bookend Super Bowl wins against the same team. The same way he began his dynasty, he will end it.......
His 1st ring was in 2001 (played on Feb 3, 2002)
SB 53 will be played on Feb 3, 2019..........exactly 18 years AFTER his 1st SB win.....
6 + 6 + 6 = 18
Again, the Patriots win.......

Let’s not use the phrase “no one ever shut out” when they gave up 31 points. It was 3 not 31.
If KC Wins the coin flip, NE loses.
If KC doesn’t have a defensive offsides, NE loses.
If a secondary can guard a disabled Gronk on a 3rd and 10, when the whole world knows it’s going to him NE loses.
For all the “Rams Shouldn’t be here” argumentation I can counter with how many ways NE shouldn’t.
And for all that Mahomes is, you give it All Back on D. I’d rather have the Goff and the Rams D Instead of that god-awful KC D and Mahomes. And who wouldn’t. Rams proved themselves 54-51 if anyone argues otherwise.

Pats offensive gm plan was great vs Chargers, almost all of Brady's passes were at or behind the line of scrimmage, before Bosa et al had a chance to get to him...
With KC, they were able to touch Brady... unfortunately the refs called a 15 yd roughing the passer and gave em a 1st down... it's okay, was just a terrible call during the last crucial drive of the game... but all anybody wants to talk about is how the Rams got lucky... even tho the Rams outplayed New Orleans after the 1st qtr.
IF the Rams can shut off Edelman the way they shut off Michael Thomast last wk, Pats will be in trouble... should be exciting game, both coaches are outstanding at devising game plans.

There's been so much hand-grabbing and running into wr's in the nfl this yr... it's like they said "we won't let u touch the qb, but the db's and wr's can mug each other while the ball is in the air"...
will be interesting cuz if they call all of the PI's, this gm will go wayyy over the number I think

I was a huge advocate of KC last week before the game but what I saw made me change my mind. Patriots made some very silly mistakes that I doubt will happen again. Like the interception in the end zone throwing from KC's goal line and the other one that went off Edelman's fingertips for an interception. Both keys that allowed KC to make a very competitive game. I doubt things like that happen again in the Superbowl.
Also it's funny you mention that KC vs LAR game because I've been thinking about it a lot. Back in week 11 when I watched that entire game on TV I felt like KC was actually a little better than the Rams. Why? They went down 0-14 early in the game because they couldn't get out of their own way.
I was absolutely shocked in the 1st/early 2nd quarter because they kept doing stupid penalty after stupid penalty over and over. Literally double digit penalties on KC early. It got to the point where I wasn't surprised in the slightest anymore because they were so consistent at making penalties. My brother felt the same way.
The rest of the game KC outplayed them 51-40 and only lost by 3 in LA. Final score 51-54.
NE went into KC and beat them by a touchdown and would've won much more easily had it not been for their silly rare mistakes.

I see the complete opposite starting with the phantom roughing call where a hand waved in front of Brady’s face.
They needed one stop in 39 seconds, and if Reid called a time out and preserved 20 more seconds, KC has the ball on the Pats 20 with 30 seconds to look for the end zone.
I see the Pats as being EXTREMELY fortunate with the majority of the calls, some awful and some boneheaded by KC.
That is why Brady has the same look he had when Butler picked off Russell at the 1. He knew he escaped with his life.
Eventually the cat runs out of lives. Too much firepower waiting on the other side here. AND I get points?

Would you give the Rams 6 points if this game was in NE?
If the answer is no (no solid capper would say yes), then this is a bad line for the Pats. It’s that simple if you don’t want to dig in the weeds here!

I have to press this question:
Would you give the Rams 6 points if this game was in NE?

I truly feel that there isn’t a line under 4 that would gather equal distribution for this game. From 1-4 I think you’d still get a majority of Patriots tickets and money but if you moved off the 4, you’d prolly get more Rams money. The public as dumb as they can be feel that last year’s loss to a backup is grounds for a pats win this year especially given the circumstances of Gronk, Brady and Belly. Believe it or not, I actually agree here. If the Rams would have beaten the Saints without controversy, I’d think a bit differently I guess but knowing what the league is capable of and knowing that the league isn’t bothered by controversy
league is capable of and knowing that they aren’t concerned about the public’s views of if games are legit or not, I wouldn’t be surprised if the Rams get screwed late the same way the Saints did. Ultimately, I don’t care much about the spread given that I took the Pats ML last week at -130. If I had to take a spread I would have taken the 3 with ease for the Rams because as noted in multiple threads, this one could be a 1 or 2 point game.
