This would be like hitting the lottery for his career if he ends up there...running game, tight end, slot and wide receivers, leagues top end defense, a players coach with ability to relate to young men like Fields,,,surely Steelers would sign up for this considering their ineptitude at QB since Big Ben retired.

Yep I like it a lot actually. Plus Bears gets to move him out of the Conference. Even if they got a third or fourth rounder or a performance based draft pick their compensatory draft pick would be at least a 4th rounder alone it makes a lot of sense. Start over with Williams (that is who I would pick anyway) as long as that spoiled brat will sign off on it. I am saying that because Eli Manning was a spoiled brat too coming out of college and it worked out well for him with the Giants.

Although, another realistic option is Field to Atlanta and that team's overall youth grows with Fields into a potential contender few years from now, while Steelers look to pick up Russell Wilson if/when Denver cut him altogether,,,then Pittsburgh would only have to pay him the league minimum and keep looking for a better option in future drafts.
I wouldn't bet on Fields to Pittsburgh at - $

@packersbackers
That makes sense too. Depends if they are looking long term or short term and frankly depends on how much they believe in Justin Fields.

Add to the mix Cousins, Flacco, Minshew, Tannehill,,,etc...Steelers only need someone competent like a game manager who can read defenses and not turnover the balls.
Cousins makes them the best right away, but they might not want to give up any trade assets for an aging QB coming off a major injury.
Should be an interesting off-season regarding the QB Icky Shuffle

Very true. Vikings are a mess again. Zimmer given a competitive team and drove it into the ground with his stupid arrogant feud with the GM. Its insane the level of arrogance in the NFL. I am sure he will do well as the Defensive Coordinator in Dallas but god damn it my frustration level is high with this team. Your Packers look locked and loaded yet again. Sometimes life just isn't fair with NFL franchises.

Makes you wonder why the Bears would trade Fields if teams like Atlanta, Pittsburgh and Vegas are supposedly interested in him. Makes you wonder why the Bears would risk an unproven Williams over Fields. I personally believe Bears trade out of the first pick.

Truth a big big big part of it is money. Fields whether proven or not is going to come off his rookie contract soon. Someone is going to sign him to NFL starter money. Which is a hell of a lot more than he currently gets paid now. So if you are not 100% sold on him and can move him, use your pick on a rookie and sign to a longish rookie deal you will save a shit ton of money under the cap. But yes Bears could be sold on him and sign him to an extension, trade out of the pick, etc.

@Ufo2112
Expiring Rookie 1st round drafted QB contracts plays a huge deciding factor on whether or not to resign them or start over.

@packersbackers
Yea, true, but also getting a ton of draft picks for the future weighs in too. There is always a team stupid enough to give the Bears a King's Ransom for that first pick.

Dont like it not sure why someone would if you expect much more than shown at bears. If you expect to see more of a passing qb in fields then dont think youre gonna see it with pitt.

@rosswin97
Fields is all about his potential,,,he played on a terrible team with no offensive direction as a franchise,,,considering how well he played to finish up the season, his value is at its peak and thus ideal for a pump & dump for more future draft capital.
If the GM pulls off the right moves, the Bears could be a Superbowl contender 5+ years from now with a sustained period looking forward...wouldn't be too shabby of a destination for players and free agents if they also get a new indoor shiny top of the line stadium as well.

@benhogan76
I could make the argument yes they do and remained competitive all season long despite being handcuffed with Trubisky, Pickett Rudolph, etc ,,with a competent QB, they could have won 10+ games the past 2 years instead of being stuck in mud with the QBs they've settled for.
Canada their fired OC wasn't really the problem, he called games based on having very poor QB ability & IQ,,,had he a player with minimum level ability to run an offense, he would have called a more well rounded offense,,,instead, he was calling plays to give them a chance to win games 16-10, 17-14, 20-17, etc.

Well, firing Luke Getsy and bringing in Shane Waldron as new OC is a start.
As far as the o line, they really only need a new center(the most important piece). Imo.
Another WR to compliment DJ Moore wouldn't hurt. Darnell Mooney fell off a cliff the last couple years.

Travis 24 yrs old soon......a brutal injury.....not sure when he gets selected...
