Yes they are a nasty bunch and a great football team but they should not get ahead of themselves...Their defense can be had. I know this for a fact because I've seen it. Yes, they usually dominate but I have seen them beat and with a good balanced attack and just like last year when Atlanta beat them in can happen again this year. They may have to play Aaron Rodgers and the Pack in the divisional round and if GB's weapons are healthy that would be interesting. However, the true team that will be there in the end with Seattle in the NFC is the division rival SF 49ers. Right now Harbaugh is playing possum. They aren't even running much of the read option or any offense whatsoever that resembles what they ran last year when Kaep took over for Alex Smith. Come playoff time and even regular season late when the seeds are and division are at play SF will bust it out again. They might not be running it in the games right now but I bet they sure are practicing it. Harbaugh is a genius. He will outcoach Pete Caroll in the playoffs if it comes down to it too. SF will be getting Manningham back very shortly and his presence alone should prove to be huge as he is very dependable route runner and a guy who can get open for Kaep if the play breaks down and Colin has to improvise. The big boost the Niners will get will come late in the year when Michael Crabtree rejoins the team. This offense could be unstoppable with a healthy core of Crabtree, Boldin, and Manningham along Vernon Davis and that running game with a guy like Kaepernick at the helm who can break down defenses will his arms and his legs like probably no other QB in the league right now (RG3 don't look the same yet ha) And all I hear from ESPN and NFL Network is how Seattle are so much better then SF and I just don't see it. These are two very evenly matched teams who I believe can win in each other stadium if need be. I said it coming into the year that I thought Frisco and Seattle would be the best 2 teams in the NFC. Marshawn Lynch is a handful but itll be interesting to see if he can stay healthy and strong all year long. SF has a deeper running back core and a plethora of guys they throw at ya which helps keep these guys healthy for what SF anticipates a long season with SB aspirations. What I should mention however is Percy Harvin going down really hurt Seattle's long term plans as he is a guy they brought in to put them over the top and he went down in camp with a season ending injury. Injuries after all are a big part of the game in the NFL. It may very well come down too who is healthier. If they are both relatively healthy it will be a great contest. It would come down to big plays and who makes the least mistakes most likely and not necessarily the home field that every major sports network is hyping up. Russel Wilson and Colin Kaepernick are both great young QBs who will be around for a long time. Their RBs are Lynch and Gore- Two vets who have been consistent bruisers throughout their careers. I give SF the edge in weapons as I believe they have more big plays guys offensively like Boldin,Vernon Davis and even LaMichael James out of the backfield (he's injured but should return soon)...Seattle is tough to prepare for because they do spread the ball around I will say that. The defenses are about even with a slight edge to Seattle especially if Aldon Smith doesn't return. Hopefully he does. The Special Teams are about even as well with probably a slight edge to Seattle. These teams to me are mirror images of each other and despite your favorite ESPN anchor telling you that SF has no shot against these guys is an absolute joke. The kind of guys SF has in their locker room will never lay down and I see them getting back to the big game whether they have to go through Seattle or not which they most likely will hopefully in SF in the last year at Candlestick to go back to the SB for the second year in a row. Then to avoid losing two SB's in a row, Kaepernick would probably have to square off against Peyton Manning and the Orange Hot Denver Broncos. A flashback to the SB between these two back in the 80's..That is the storybook ending that I forsee and I am gaining more and more confidence in this preseason prediction as the weeks progress.
To all my real football fans chime in on your thoughts on the potential matchup of these two teams in the playoffs this yr?

Arizona had no running game at ALL mendenhall got paid to run a whole 12 yards...Palmer was thrown to the wolves and did what he could to try and win...All they had to do is sit back and tea off on Palmer and the routes with no run game in mind. Yet a balanced offense like colts and all the sudden Seahawks D looks like the jaguars defense

San fran has little to no chance of beating seattle in seattle. If san fran can get home field then yes it would b a dog fight. Seattle has embarrassed the niners last two games in seattle. But i feel like the saints can beat both teams. The saints defense is much improved and drew brees will score pts vs any defense so dont count out saints

The Saints would fear both of these defenses in a playoff scenario..Saints haven't forgot about that hit Donte Whitner laid on Pierre Thomas in the playoff game between these teams 2 years ago. SF and Seattle both have the defenses to stop Brees but yes you are right Saints will have something to say about this

Harbaugh can't outcoach Carroll in the NFL...........the only way to beat Seattle's D is to have a solid run game & a mobile, smart qb. Not many teams have that & SF certainly doesn't. Kap has been exposed as a kid that can't see the field. The more they try to make him a pocket qb the more we see he isn't one. He can't pick apart a 2ndary like a Brady or Manning or Brees........& even those guys would struggle vs Seattle.
Seattle has put together a helluva squad, & once they get completely healthy they'll be very tough to beat. They just grind & grind & beat you up.
SF needs to focus on a wild card spot.

Why SF fans are so delusional thinking kaepernick is so great? yes he's dynamic with his run ability and rolling out of the pocket but he's no pocket passer and he had definitely been exposed since teams figure out how to contain the kid...

Seahawks are on another level above the 49ers at this point. 9ers not as good as last season at least to this point.
I think Seattle is the team to beat. They are easily no. 1 in my power ratings and layed a much bigger beat-down on Zona then the final score reflects only adding to their value.
Being cocky can be a good thing, it shows they know just how good they are and have alot of confidence to beat anyone. Of coarse it could also indicate a team getting over-confident and not respecting their opp which would not be a good thing.

Love this. A true Fortywhiners fan. You whine about the noise and now you whine about our cockyness. If SF was 6-1 they will be even more cocky. KRAPERNICK has not shown anything yet last year and he already showcase the "arm" after every TD. So who is cocky? What has he done this year? He was lucky the defense carried him to the SB last year. If Seahawks hold up for another 30 seconds in Atlanta, I don't even know if SF was in the SB last year. You see how well Russel played last night and yet at the post game show, he was as humble as you can get. That's class act. NO NEED to kiss bicep to get respected. Anyhow, continue to whine as much as want b/c SF won't win NFC West this year. We will beat SF at Candlesticks come December...mark my word. It will be a statement game b/c everyone keep saying Seattle only win at home. They will win dominantly to show it wasn't a fluke they dominate SF the last 2 meetings at Century Link. And speaking of which, we may win NFC Conference too b/c the Saints still have to play us at Century Link on the Dec 5. That will decide the Conference winner....and NO, SF will not be playing in that game. Last but not least for you FortyWhiners fan, look at the ranking (I know it doesn't meant anything but still). It showed SF is falling from the elite ranking in the NFL https://www.sbnation.com/nfl/2013/10/15/4837552/nfl-power-rankings-week-7-saints-patriots-browns-broncos-packers?utm_source=sbnation&utm_medium=nextclicks&utm_campaign=articlebottom
