ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. (AP) A sportsbook in New Jersey is refunding bets on the New Orleans Saints due to the widespread belief that the team was victimized by a blown call by referees during its loss Sunday in the NFC championship game.

Wow, never had in my mind this could happen, refund from a book due to a blown call by NFL refs. Guess that book would absorb tens of thousand in good cause.

Marketing ploy by the sports book....nothing else...Just like Fan Duel paying out Alabama futures before playoffs started.

i agree, it's not a bad move by that book. Nowadays, sports wagering has been legalized across the nation, the competition lures such action by certain book, and it's not a bad thing for sports gamblers.

Of course! House ALWAYS wins if you play it long enough. There is ALWAYS an edge towards the house in gambling. I don care which what it is, the house has the edge...

You lost the game.  that includes blown referee calls.

Actually there is no house edge in sports betting. The bettor has the advantage. The vig is not a house edge.

they should have just gave them a free play refund, i wish my book would refund me, just needed saints too win, for the last leg of my 2 teamer, if the ref makes that call the saints run out the clock and kick th e f.g i don't know why peyton passed on the 1st down but whatever , in a way it was good that i lost that 1 because i bet  way more on the pats $line because  i was gonna bet  a large amount then i made it a huge play biggest bet of the year

How can you day that ? For one, books are guaranteed profit due to juice! Another thing is, start winning fir a while , they will restrict you to smaller amounts so even if you win, they can't lose too much. That's pure edge factor.

Has to be marketing. Everyone says the saints wouldve won which is 99% true..but nobody cares to think the slight 1% he misses the kick..go look at blair walsh for minnesota miss a 20 yarder in the wildcard round to beat the seahawks a few years ago.. No real sportsbook would care and im sure the commissioner thinks the same thing when idiots are calling for a replay of the game or moment. Football is unpredictable.

No cash refunds will be given.....The New Orleans plays will recieve  sportsbook credits for future bets....I like the New Orleans eye Doctor advertising free eye exams to all NFL officials. I guess the NFL wanted the LA market in the Superbowl $$$$.
