On offense - the Falcons scored three points per game more than the Jets - and about four points per game more than the Ravens.
So while the Falcons have a better +/- than BOTH the Jets and the Ravens, AND the Falcons won their division AND the NFC - you keep telling yourself the Jets and Ravens were better. They weren't, but you keep telling yourself that...
(and while the Falcons gave up a few more yards per game than the Jets, the goal in Football is to score more than you give up - something the Falcons are better at than either the Jets OR the Ravens).

This is true, but the Falcons did have one of the easiest schedules in the league, which really skewed their PPG numbers and WL record.. They got to play the NFC West, they got Carolina twice, got Cleveland and Cincy.. They also played Pitt without Roethlisburger and Philly without Kolb... and lost both games.. I think it's pretty clear now that they were paper tigers and their defense which was only "1 point worse that Baltimore's" was more a product of not playing many good offensive teams and getting good teams when their offense wasn't 100%.
I would take Baltimore or NYJ against them on a neutral field especially if it was outside a dome.
