Falcons will be massive public but I do agree they should win vs Tampa. Tampa won the penalty battle 23-6 and still lost this OT game. Absolutely amazing.
Unbelievable, wasnt it?

Good work again Suuma, always top notch food for thought when I'm at work. I'm all over ATL and DEN.... quick question about your recommendation on taking DAL on teasers this week.... I know they play Cleveland, but coming off a win in OT, is it possible DAL wins but doesn't cover? Cleveland fights harder than their record dictates, think their still lined up for 0-16?

Sac & Porc, you make good arguments for Philly D vs NYG O. But how about the flip side? Philly had 4.4 NYPPA the L2 games. Pederson plays extremely conservative and Eagles receivers are trash. With a banged up OL, how do they score enough?
What about giants o-line vs philly d-line? How will manning have any time to throw?

The Eagles took the wrong QB too. At least they didn't strike out, but Prescott is obviously the best of the bunch, and it's not even close.
You're insane. Prescott has the best O line in Football, a top RB that doesn't fumble late with a lead in the 4th, a proper #1 WR. Those factors are huge reasons why he's been successful.
Wentz outplayed Dak nearly the whole game. Prescott threw a terrible pick in the end zone and nearly did it again but the WR pulled the DB down.
Watch film of Prescott vs Bama last year, he wad awful when he was rushed. If he played Denver for example he'd look very ordinary.

I'm liking Atl too. Tho every time I play a TB game I end up on the wrong side somehow. But I think Atl's last gasp win and TB's OT fail are big momentum swings that will carry over through a short week. Falcons winning this would put them in prime position to take the division. TB has had their number and has home field but IMO that just keeps the number down for Falcon backers.

Wentz never had to face Alabama, therefore you are arguing a point that is not applicable. Wentz didn't throw the ball vertically all game. He averaged 3.9 yards per drop back.
Wentz also played against a decidedly inferior Defense, Philadelphia v. Dallas is a no brainer.
Prescott threw a pick. It wasn't terrible, it happens in the NFL. Wentz threw 4 in two weeks, Prescott has only thrown 2 all year.
What is ridiculous is to allow local sports bias determine whether or not you can believe your own eyes. Dak Prescott has taken a team that was 4-12 last year that has zero major improvements over last year's team and gotten them to 7-0 ATS. Not even close. Especially considering draft capital. The Cowboys spent nothing on him.
A dude with a Rocky picture is obviously not the one you want to ask about this issue, but the Eagles were up TEN in the Fourth Quarter, and all your amazing Wentz had to do was move the chains.
Why couldn't he do this?

Way too early to say this. Seven games is too small of a sample size. One or both could hit the rookie wall soon, that is when Romo will probably take over for the stretch run this year. I have heard dallas can only use half of the playbook with Prescott
Still Prescott is definitely the steal of the draft, and the cowboys qb of the future.

If the eagles db doesn't let that pick hit the ground on the last drive, this conversation doesn't occur and cowboy fans are likely calling for Romo.

Porcelainfist, the Football talk with you is one of the best I could imagine on a public forum, but sooner than later you are going to realize that you are off on this one. You are making the same mistake 98% of the media pundits make: you judge Dak Prescott off the Cowboys’ teamrecord instead of his individual performances. Even after the game on SNF you find good arguments because the Cowboys won a game they should have never won. Eagles was the right side in this one. Since when do we judge players off a teamrecord? Where would Rivers and Osweiler land? You know better.
Dak Prescott now has played two bad games in a row in which his major flaws became obvious. The Eagles game was flat out horrible. He played horrible for 55 minutes and even in the last 5 minutes he wasn’t good. With under 2 minutes to go they needed 20-25 yards for a game-winning FG and he didn’t complete a single pass. On the last drive he threw the game-deciding pick which was 4 yards off his target, but Leodis McKelvin dropped it. Instead of the game being over, he got lucky to get another chance.
He completed just 40% of his passes in the red zone this season. His interception vs. the Eagles was a terrible read. Dez was one-on-one in the corner, Beasley was open in the flat, but he pushes the ball into the middle of the field where it was 4 defenders on 2 receivers. At the end of the third quarter he badly underthrew Dez Bryant on a fade in the end zone which hit the defender in the back. On the very next play he threw the ball, he threw the ball directly into the hands of McKelvin, but Terrance Williams made an outstanding effort to disrupt the catch.
Dak Prescott shows terrible footwork at times. On some plays, his feet leave the ground which is inexcusable. Because of his footwork some of his throws become inaccurate because he uses his body the wrong way.
How can you excuse this performance with the fact that the Cowboys won the game? Dak Prescott is a green rookie playing behind the best OL with the best RB in Football. His arm strength and scrambling ability is what separates him from Matt Cassell, Kellen Moore and Branden Weeden. There is no single argument that Romo shouldn’t play when he is healthy. Dak Prescott showed some potential against bad teams but he obviously has a long way to go. Carson Wentz is better individually and it isn’t even close. Just because he has an average OL, no receivers and a coach with conservative play-calling, he isn’ worse than Prescott. Teamrecord vs. individual performances.
Football is a game in which nuances can decide the outcome. You know that. It wasn’t that the Cowboys ran all over all opponents. Kirk Cousins left 13 points off the board because he missed wide open guys for touchdowns. You can deny this as much as you want, but the Redskins would have won that game with slightly better QB play or with just one more accurate throw by Cousins. Against the Niners, the Cowboys started out badly because they struggled to run on a very decent Niners run D with Bowman. Behind 14-17 against the 2nd-worst team in the league, Bowman got injured and the Boys finally had wide open running lanes in the second half. There was a good chance they lose the game without Bowman being injured. If the Eagles defenders catch just one interceptable pass or if Pederson takes the 52yd FG, they win that game. A lot of ifs, but the Cowboys could be 3-4 if one single situation in those games has a different outcome and no one would hype Dak Prescott the way they do. People struggle to make any good arguments for Prescott in terms of his QB play. All I am hearing is “they are 6-1, don’t change it”.
With all that being said, I am no Dak Prescott hater. But I am a friend of objective analysis.

Dribble, of course a win is a win. But knowing how the games are played out gives you an advantage on future games when the market sets the lines differently from your opinion just because there is the public looking at box scores.
Cowboys might be 7-0 ATS - dependent on what lines you got - but their spreads will be more inflated in the second half of the season and all I am doing is trying to take advantage of it.

Very well said about Dak and Wentz...I am a Giants fan so I hate to see both those teams find a qb of the future. Wentz has been much better, and some of the things he does at the line reading the D and adjusting is very impressive for a rookie.
Dak has been very good too, but he is starting to show some warts and I think its going to catch up to him soon, I hope to be on the other side of the bet when that opportunity arises.
In regards to TNF, I like Atl and was going to take them at -3 (-130), line has bounced up and I'm not so comfy w it at -4 on the road. But Jameis innacuracy, down to their 4th Rb, losing despite 26 penalties going thir way, a Defense that was on the field the majority of the game, all look like Atl is still the play.

Just read that Dak was the lowest rated player at his position by PFF in week 8. And the lowest grades for WR and Slot Recv? Both occupied by Eagle receivers....Wentz has no one to throw to

Suuma, you're again overvaluing end zone picks. I told you in week 6 before the Cowboys' Week 6 victory in Green Bay you were saying Cousins threw an egregious interception in the end zone, he didn't. He just threw an interception in the end Zone. It happens. Exactly like the Cousins interception where Barry Church read the route combo and left his man, so too did Hicks come off of his man, Witten, to cut off the route of his intended target Brice Butler.
We are on a gambling site, so acres matter. Ask me if I think Prescott is better thAn Romo, he's not and its not close. Ask me if he's better than WENTZ. Definitely. Wentz hasn't completed a pass of over 26 yards since week one. Didn't attempt a pass of over 20 yards.
Again, the point here is that this is a Cowboys team that without Romo last year went 1-11. Did they add a premier pass rusher? They didn't. A shutdown Corner? Nope. Same offensive line as last year.
People didn't listen to me when I told them Cowboys were close in every game but two last year, yet now all want to act like I'm wrong again and will continue to underestimate this team an this quarterback based on pure, forgive my word choice, ignorance and/or arrogance. I understand Eagles fans being bitter but winning games matters in sports gambling. I have won 6 games in the Supercontest with these Cowboys and I'll laugh every time the team against them is top 6 consensus.

You may need to check your Wentz stats. Wentz is the far superior cerebral QB and total package QB than Dak. Give me a break with this Dak stuff. He's a game manager. You also missed the perfectly anticipation bomb he had to Jordan Matthews against the Skins, and the BEAUTIFUL pass to Sproles vs the Steelers, but guess we're not counting them. The Eagles run a west coast hybrid, so the main goal is not to throw long passes every time, but when Wentz does, they are as accurate as all hell.

Neither the Sproles pass nor the Matthews pass traveled more than 26 yards in the air. I collect my own stats and am on the Eagles this week. I follow football, not teams. I live in Los Angeles so I saw two teams in training camp this year, the Cowboys and the Rams. This is why I pick my spots against the Rams, including this week with the Panthers -3. You can learn a lot about a team by seeing them practice, and let me tell you, the difference between the Cowboys and the Rams was night and day. Dak may be a game manager, but he also went 5 straight games with a passer rating of over 100 and Wentz is the definition of a game manager, they don't trust him to throw anything vertically and it shows. He's playing the role of Alex Smith and that's ok but let's not act like Wentz is going to throw his team back into any game when he can't even throw them to first downs to win a game up 10.
