I am still figuring out this bet, whether I play it +7 or +13 in a teaser.
The Panthers haven't played against great offenses, but their defense has been outstanding and the Seahawks don't have a great offense either. The Panthers probably have the best LB corps in the NFL, their covering ability is outstanding. Roman Harper is a great SS who should contain Jimmy Graham for most of the game. Josh Norman has been playing on a Pro Bowl level, he should have a good game against Tyler Lockett. Those two guys, along with their great LB corps and DL against the worst OL in the league will cause a lot of limitations for the Seahawks offense which makes me believe they can't cover 7, let alone 13.
The Panthers have been capable of scoring and Cam Newton finally plays up to his potential. Remember those two teams met in the playoffs in 2014 where one pick-six by Chancellor in the end zone made the difference. The Panthers outgained a Seahawks team that was much better than this time. Carolina is on revenge and against a defense that misses Bobby Wagner and Jordan Hill, they should be capable of scoring enough to keep this game atleast very close.
Would this be the game to tease with the pats? No matter how futile Seattle looks on offense, they always seem to score some big special teams TD or connect on a crazy deep ball for a quick TD. That, plus Carolina sucks on offense with NO weapons other than Olsen...who I think Seattle can shut down...plus home field...regardless tho, low scoring game I'd take the points

Thanks for the thoughts on CAR/SEA game. suuma. I don't know if their offense suck but they are still #1 rushing team (142.4 ypg) in the league BUT with only 1 rushing TD so far in the season. That will be change soon. Last year they were #1 with rushing offense ypg and #1 on rushing TDs. Cam Newton will finally see some pressure against Seattle defense. He is sacked just 7 times in 4 games which is his personal best BUT he played against awful teams so far in the season. 32nd SoS... Hawks are not great sacking team but their defense know how to pressure opponent QB... better than Jax, TB, Houston and NO... so Newton will be limited this game i think. Anyway BOL bro

Carolina doesn't have AJ Green and Sanu and Bernard and Hill...which probably opened stuff up for eifert
It was the same with Jared Cook in week 1. You have to respect the 3-WR sets with at least man coverage which opens up space for the TE when he is 1on1 with the SS or a LB. If you as a defense are not good enough to cover good TEs, that's a problem.

Total rushing yards mean nothing and even YPC have virtually no correlation to scoring points or winning football games.
They might be the number one team in total rushing yards per game but
their offense has produced 16.8 PPG - good for just 28th in the league.
Also the amount of rushing TDs isn't an indicator of being a good running team. It's just a mix of red zone opportunities and play-calling. Last season the Browns were the #4 team in rushing TDs per game (1.1) but no one would have called them a good running team by any means.
Good luck to you as well this week

Bengals@Bills: You can think what you want about Rex Ryan, but one thing is for sure: He gets his team up for the big games in underdog situations. He is 10-3 ATS as a home dog. Last season, the Jets played close games against the Pats, at Green Bay, vs. Denver & against the red-hot Dolphins but lost against Kyle Orton, the Bears, Chiefs and got shut out by the Chargers. He lives for the big stage and nothing would give him more pride than getting a home win against the 5-0 Bengals.
The Bengals come off an overtime win at home in which they rallied from being down 7-24, playing a road game in a tough environment. The Bills definitely have the defense to slow the Bengals somewhat down. The Bengals are almost unstoppable on offense but they played a below-average schedule and the first game against a real defense on the road should cause some trouble and should make them feel uncomfortable in a few situations.
The Bills offense is underrated IMO. They have been very fluid in the passing game despite missing key players. With Watkins and McCoy back, they are multi-dimensional and they can set up a lot of play-action situations. IF Taylor plays, I feel comfortable with the FG at home. With EJ Manuel we might get Bills +6 ?! 24-21 Bills.
Cardinals@Steelers: Second road game for ARI, interconference game, some players (OLB, S)
banged up on defense against a very good OL that knows how to pick up
blitzes. Martavis Bryant will be a huge addition, he stretches the field
to open up some space for ABrown and Le'Veon Bell. ARI defense is using
blitzes to force turnovers, which was successful against poor OL from
DET, CHI, SF. Their defense played one of the worst schedules. It will
be very difficult against this Steelers OL. With Big Ben it would have
been a big play for me. Mike Vick will some key plays to move the
chains, I've got no doubt about it.
Steelers defense has been
playing way better than I expected them to do. Their secondary is a
weak spot but their young front seven is starting to dominate in the
trenches, which will be effective against an OL that likely misses Mike
Iupati who took them to the next level.

In was on atl and missed that their starting center was out
Low and behold 2 center to QB exchange fumbles in the redzone...and all I'm reading today on the forum is that the game was rigged, what a huge surprise here on covers.
The importance of capping every aspect of a matchup down to starting lineups is crucial. You do a superb job at analysis and providing us w/ info. Thanks and BOL this week

Just a FYI that even though it is their second road game, the Cardinals stayed on the East coast all week.

I was listening to the radio today and I heard someone say the Cardinal's run a Big Nickel package 70% of the time and he thought thats beneficial match-up wise to contain Bell.
My question is where can I find these stats that team are more particular to a certain package and more In-depth stats? I figured u would know since ur a pff member and now that service is done with

People are talking about Manuel being no downgrade from Taylor, Taylor has been exceptionally good and advanced stats show that...as well as the eye test. Manuel would/will be a huge downgrade, wouldn't go anywhere near the Bills even with +6 if he Manuel plays.

Just a note about this, the Cards stayed at the Greenbier this week. So they only had one flight from Detroit to Virginia, then they will bus to Pittsburgh as opposed to the usual flight, blus, flight, bus. The Greenbier has great facilities is almost like a mini vacation.
“It’s awesome,” coach Bruce Arians. “It’s perfect weather to go into Pittsburgh and play, with the breeze every day and the grass is the same.”
“It was fun. It was beneficial,” defensive lineman Calais Campbell said after Friday’s final workout. “Everybody likes being at home more than on the road. But if you’re on the road this place treated us very well. The people were nice. The food was good. We had a chance to bond again, a training camp kind of feel.”
