Suuma, I see the Jets getting left out. They needed KC to lose yesterday. I see KC winning out (or 3 - 1), and Steelers claiming the 6 seed, going 3 - 1. See Jets going 2 -2 at best being a game short. Great day yesterday bud

I see the same as upstairs, KC look like they can run the table, of corse upsets can happen in any week, PIT and NYJ will fight for that last spot. Personally as a NFL fan i much rather see PIT in the playoffs than NYJ.

Yeah I am scared of the Steelers. They got two games on deck against 10-2 teams though who want home field advantage badly and 3 out of 4 road games - that's not an easy stretch. The Ravens will be pumped up at home on MNF as well.
The Chiefs can only beat themselves or due to injuries with 3 of 4 home games.
If the Jets drop one against TEN or DAL, it doesn't look good to be honest. Cannot see TEN winning at New York. Do the Cowboys want to win out or do they want a high draft pick? With a healthy Romo or a solid backup, they are 1 or 2 draft picks away from a Super Bowl run. They could go QB in the first round to draft their future QB and a good backup for Romo. They better lose out.

Im from chicago. Not last year, but the year before(trestmans 1st yr) Brandon Marshall led the league in WR blocking rating. I forget the exact metrics of the rating system, but he was #1 w/ alshon jeffries at #2. It tells me that he also can be a good teacher, he taught jeffries many things and took him under his wing. It's also a true definition of the guy's passion and work ethic. How many WR's in todays league even attempt to run block, or even try to make it an important part of their game...? He is a tough player, he clearly had a bad ankle issue all yr(some say it was a high ankle sprain he played through) Cutler is a QB that was good at throwing to "spots" Marshall for the most part ran all stop routes...hitches, quick ins, quick outs, back shoulders and the occasional 9 route. Who ever is at QB for the Jets has to understand this, he may have trouble adjusting to deep crosses, post corners or any routes that require the QB to lead his wr. The bad.... His drops weren't all too many, but happened to be at the absolute worst times in a game. Whether it be a drive killer, or a crucial 3rd n 7,8,9, or 10. These weren't dropped because of an inability to catch, for he has great hands and strength, but rather a lack of concentration. He has a history of mental issues. There are moments when he doesnt seem "all there" Lastly... IMO, all the talk of him being bad for a locker room is all hearsay. There is no real proof of him having any issues w/ players or coaches. Mark trestman was/is not a leader of men. He did not have a short enough leash on anyone on the roster. He gave em free reign w/ the media, let them say WHATEVER was on their minds and didnt hold anyone accountable. Marshall is a talker, he welcomes interviews. Basically gave chicago reporters an abundant varity of material to work with...where they subsequently molded it too they're liking.
I think the jets have a potentially dangerous WR duo. Key for both guys...health.
Glad you brought this thread back Suuma. Looks like Marshall and Decker have been a great combo at WR...

Jokes away, the Steelers need to win at CIN. If they lose to CIN and the Jets win vs. TEN, PIT are 1 game behind the Jets and 3 games behind them on the conference tiebreaker.
Texans/Colts - one of those teams will make the division and with a head-to-head game, they won't get a wild card with a high probability.
Bills - they are still in the race with road games at PHI/WSH and home games vs. DAL & NYJ.

Not sure what to think Suuma. I will tell you this, it is still up for debate. A late comeback from 10 down....should have been 13 or more.....a last second TD???? A missed fg in OT???
The Giants have 5 losses this year after leading in the final.2 mins of the game. Obviously that is some sort of record, and a reflection of some mismanagement.
Congrats on your "win" Jets. But the Giants are every bit as good, if not better. And still have a shot at the playoffs as crazy as it sounds!
Round 1. Suuma
Round 2 TBD

People
in this thread have been calling me "as delusional as Fireman Ed" when I predicted 8+ wins for the Jets and
were saying they are the same old Jets and stuff. But there is one fact:
The Jets are going to the playoffs, period.
Feel free to discuss
Hey, congrats on winning 10 games this season, not gonna kick a man when he's down, but man, all they had to do was beat the Bills and they couldn't get it done.....
Maybe not "Butt Fumble"-esque, but another predicatable Jets fail nonetheless.....
Better luck next year

that the good season you called for the Jets would have happened if Geno Smith was at QB like he was supposed to be before a former teammate tightened his Jaw?
Or would my assessment that they werent a playoff team No Where Close to a Playoff team with Geno Smith at QB
I believe the good season was purely a result of the broken Jaw
Fitzpatrick took over and had a serviceable season.
They will be back in the gutter next season.
Rex took them out
so I already have that circled
When they meet for that first regular season meeting
No matter what the records are
I will be on the Jets
but that will more than likely be the only spot that I can virtually feel good about a victory.

They had a good season
Much better than I thought.
If I remember correctly
When this thread started
It was supposed to be Geno Smith at QB
Can you say without a shadow of a doubt

Yes from a X's and O's perspective, not from a leadership perspective. So it's hard for me to answer this. Fitzpatrick was a great leader and a well-respected guy within the locker room. He did a solid job but there have been some bad throws Geno Smith would have nailed.
I mentioned several times that Chan Gailey was the perfect fit for Geno Smith. He would have had more upside/potential than Ryan Fitzpatrick and I am completely serious about it. Smith had a phenomenal training camp, he looked much improved due to the new system.
The system the Jets have been playing (4 & 5 WR sets very often) would have made Geno Smith a 65% completion QB and he has WAY more touch & strength on deep balls. Even Fitzpatrick admitted that he doesn't like to throw deep.

It's actually 7.5 at -135. Congrats to all who grabbed it at 6.5.
IMO the Jets have the roster to win 8-10 games. They have also a very good home schedule. Over 7.5 is a no-brainer and 8 at even odds would represent very good value.
Hope someone made money!

Same old jets is correct. Team been around for 50 plus years, made it to a couple of afc championship games and won 1 fixed super bowl. That game had fix written all over it, Namath was a clown, predicted a win when he knew outcome was set. Bubba smith swore on this till his death. Namath is the most over rated athlete in all 4 major sports. This guy is in hall of fame and threw more INT then TD. What a joke and so Are the jets as a whole.
