For me, this play has nothing to do with Detroit almost losing to StL, as I picked StL to be a much improved team (before there injuries to their offensive line). This play is based purely off matchups, namely the Detroit offense vs SF defense. No one runs on this Sf defense, especially not this Lions maligned running game. Kevin smith is only effective for the Lions bc of his ability to catch balls outta the backfield, in fact I don't think he's ever cracked 100 rushing yds for the Lions (I could be wrong). Point being, Smith will be virtually useless against SF since he's not all that effective in the running game and I believe SFs Linebackers will bottle him up in the passing game, I foresee under 55 yds total and a possible fumble. This puts it all on Stafford n the passing game and this SF secondary is very good, both in man to man coverage and in zone schemes. Calvin will be blanketed and I believe Matt will get frustrated n force a couple balls Megatrons way, and thus creating Turnovers. SFs Offense still isn't a finished product but ASmith looked very efficient and his weapons r legit. Moss will keep DBs honest on the deep threat and VD will exploit the Lions LBs. Crabtree looked much improved lastwk, catching most balls thrown his way and the SF running game was really good. Kendall Hunter was a perfect change of pace back, catching balls outta the backfield n looked like he could be am every down back now, Gores success was just gravy. SF isn't my favorite play of the week but I do like them. I missed the 49er gravy train last season and I won't miss it again, this team is very real and possibly the best team in football.

gl man... like the picks... just am really baffled on this ravens game...
Yeah it's an odd game but when u think about it, it's logical. Completely disregard lastwks games and just cap the matchups. When u do that, it makes sense but obviously lastwk did happen n the Ravens looked great while Philly looked bad. But realistically, there's no way Philly can be a home dog here.

Not a big write up, I just like Matty Ice at home. Tough to go against Peyton in a dome but I'm not as sold on Denver's D as much as some people are. I believe Ryan has a pretty good day, with the Burner n Jacquizz getting theirs as well. Should be high scoring as well. (Laying 1 Unit)
Best of Luck!

what your thoughts on the over on this atl/den game? would that be a better bet if both can score at will while both defences seems suspect from week 1
