Lol doesn't have shit to do with checks and balances.
Point blank- the league decides who wins every game and by how much.
It's about time you were put in cuffs!!
So the NFL has decided to let the Jags, Jets, Lions lose all the time. Then the let the Packers, Patriots, Steelers, etc win all the time? They decided all the teams who have never been to a SB to never go, and let the Patriots, Steelers, 49ers and Cowboys all have five plus SB wins?
Then all these teams who don't win just agree with it? Then superstar players (guys like Sanders, Marino, etc) agree to never get a ring too?
Just so as you claim "Point blank- the league decides who wins every game and by how much"
That means they MADE Scott Norwood kick "wide right" and decided the Bills would lost four SB's in a row.

Sporting Kansas City midfielder Felipe Hernandez has been suspended for betting on 2 mls games. Mls conducted an investigation when Hernandez spoke with the club about fearing for his personal safety because of his gambling debts.

People are just unrealistic and believe in the most ridiculous things. The amount of legal trouble the NFL would be in if anyone came out and had evidence they were even instructed to help a team win is ridiculous. Owners would sue, pretty much any executives in the NFL would lose their jobs, the feds would look in to it, it would be a disaster. They're better off doing everything they can to focus on the integrity of the game and let that gravy train continue. No chance they'd leave billions of dollars in the hands of refs and players. Zero chance. Pretty much the only realistic scenario is a lone wolf ref getting paid on the side like the NBA dude. But coming from the organization itself, not a chance.

Wow dude, this thread has gone way past it's lifespan. If you believe pro sports are fixed, I am guessing you are a card carrying member of Q-Anon. If you believe this shit, I have no understanding as to why you watch/bet the sport. The definition of insanity is "to repeat the same actions over and over and expect a different result." Yet you spend countless hours posting in this forum. So you are clearly an attention seeker, or just insane.

Wrong. The NFL can legally fix /rig/manipulate its own games. They are under the umbrella of entertainment and not classified as a sport or under the gaming regulations.

You are 100% incorrect. Professional sports leagues cannot fix their games. There are financial interests from owners, fans, advertisers, etc that are on the basis that the game is played according the fairness of the game and the rules the NFL sets. They would be in incredible amounts of legal trouble if it was found out they did anything to intentionally influence the outcome of games for financial purposes. That doesn't mean they can't change the rules that benefit some players or teams. But that's obvious.

Even though it wasn't the NFL itself, I think it's funny people witnessed how much money and investigation went in to a friggin team inflating footballs because it could provide an unfair advantage for one team over another but they think the NFL can just go around fixing whatever they wanted. The owners would sue the heck out of the NFL if the NFL was telling refs on the side to make sure a team gets the win.

BS. A Jets fan tried to sue the League over Spygate. A ticket to the game only guarantees you a seat to the show. Nothing more. There isnt a single law stopping the NFL from rigging its own games.
The NFL and its owners arent 32 individual properties. They are all one business. They share all the revenue from tickets to merchandise to ads. Thats what the Anti-trust laws are for
There are only 2 federal laws regarding fixed events. The Quiz Show law - which has to do with intellectual knowledge or intellectual skill. Neither apply here. And the Sports Bribery Act of 1964 - which is bribery. If the League instructs its officials to manipulate the game= Not bribery. Or if a player or official point shaves or rigs a game for personal gain. That doesnt apply either. Not a single person has ever been arrested for that.
Tim Donaghy was arrested for a gambling scandal because he conspired with others. So No. Im not 100% incorrect.

Nah, nothing you said here has anything to do with professional sports leagues rigging games
And owners can sue the league/other owners if they conspired against them to rig games. Would be very easy.
The sports bribery act can most definitely be used considering there is payment made to refs/players/coaches/etc in order to rig games. Especially if employment is contingent on rigging games. Unless you believe they are just doing it out of the goodness of their hearts. The purpose of the act would still apply.
The Donaghy case showed just how big of a deal rigging games is. I mean most of his argument was to try to get a lighter sentence was to try to blame the NBA of manipulating games and be a whistle blower to the FBI. Even the Congressman who oversaw the house consumer protection committee said if his claims were true it would be the biggest scandal in sports history. But they couldn't find any evidence they were true, so nothing happened.
You are completely wrong here. Professional sports leagues most definitely cannot legally rig games for financial gain.

Something that just occurred to me reading this thread: point shaving only negatively affects a section of bettors in any one game, not all; for every guy that gets robbed by a ref, an opposite bettor cashes.
Doesn't make it right in the slightest, but for those of us at home concerned about it, it seems to me it's reasonable to say that it's a coinflip whether or not a) your particular is game today is rigged and b) whether the rigging is for you or against you.
It's possible it evens out in the long run, just like a coin?

Have you guys checked out bad sport on Netflix? There's six episodes about match fixing in different sports. 1994 Arizona state basketball, Juventus director influencing refs, South Africa cricket and a few others it's good

You are delusional. The NFL is not a sport. It's entertainment. It's a TV series. A reality TV soap opera for men. Nothing more. There is not a single thing on TV that isn't scripted to some degree. But believe whatever you want.
If you can bet on it, then there's a good chance that it isn't a fair game. That's life. I'm sure you also believe that casinos are only in it for the juice too and 50/50 action bullshit. That's already been proven false. Vegas takes a stand on certain games knowing they will win. Do your research. It's all out there.

Lol.. So you're saying pregame in the locker room, the players and coaches are like Ok guys. so remember, the game needs to be within 6 pts dont score after we have a fg lead. -- Oh, and keep in mind, these players are risking their bodies, the future of them being able to walk and play with their kids, to fulfill a fuckin script... please shut the fk up with this. Working their asses off in college, to make it to the nfl. To put in all those hours in the gym, risk their bodies and possible wheelchair living like some have, some have even died on the field.. Lmao. Yea, refs influence. but that is about it. Vegas does not make a call at halftime to a game to say Ok, stay on track with the plan guys. Stop it. This post was 8 pages too long, Garbage ass thread.
