Why the Eagles Will Get Smoked

Everyone seems surprised that this game opened with the 49ers favored, and it went higher from there.  I'm surprised the line didn't open at -3.5 and get bet up to -5.5.  The Eagles may be 10-1, but their stats look more like a 6-5 team. Here they are side by side with the 49ers.

In the last 4 games. the Eagles have yielded an average of 430 yards per game. Most of this has been their inability to stop the run. They had given up more than 100 yards on the ground just once all season, (week 4/107 yards) but their last 2 games they've given up 168 and 173 yards. The 49ers stats are far better, and the Niners are improving, while the Eagles are getting worse.

I would consider betting the 1st half moneyline on Niners and if you win stop and if it loses comeback with them in the 2nd half, no way they lose both halves!

Situational play here suggests Philly plays hard today using the underdog at home narrative as total motivation to go out there and beat down SF,,,then next week lay down at Dallas essentially taking next week and turning it into a back up game / unofficial bye week to rest up and get prime for their SuperBowl victory toosh poosh run

For me, it's Philly ML or pass for what should be a fun 3.5hr Sunday Afternoon TV show.

 On the contrary, you could say that the Eagles use today as their bye vs the Niners. Why show your cards when another nfc championship meeting is likely between these 2 teams?

Just a thought. Thinking they'd want to win vs division against the Cowboys.

Im seeing most sharps,TV analyst,handicappers on here bla bla are picking S.F. Im definitely not wagering on this game but should be interesting to watch.I am not giving up 3+ to a 10-1 team at home with a better QB and getting no respect.

Yes, but their last 3 games it is 138 yards per game.  Last 2 games is even worse.  Niners playing their best game right now.

Only twice before has a team 10-1 or better been a home dog. Both times it was the final week of the season, and starters were being rested. The 2011 Packers, and the 2020 Chiefs. Oddly, those two teams face off today.
