i really don't go by rankings that much... whether they are the best or the 5th best... all i know is that when i watch them, i am very impressed by their defense... i have never been overly impressed with the Packers... i never thought they were a SB contender...
i just think the Jets fit that formula that has been working for the past decade or so...
someone needs to explain this... can the Chargers keep the Jets out of 2nd and 5 and 3rd and 1 all day long, by containing the running game? i don't think they can... and if they cannot do that, they are not going to cover this number... in fact, they will almost certainly lose the game if they can't do that...
what makes people think they can do that? this will, at the very least, be a dogfight... at worst, the Jets will run away with it... pun intended...

This will not be a dog fight. This may turn out into a high scoring affair. Revis is great but so is Rivers. Rivers has too many targets for Revis to cover them all. Plus Rivers has 28 tds to 9 picks. Sanchez will have to throw the ball more than normal and he's so bad Cromartie will look like Revis. Sanchez has thrown 20 picks. He's going to fold like a tent. Eventually he's going to have to throw and he's going to make a mistake.

Chargers will force sanchez to throw and this game wont be close. chargers are a legit super bowl contender and the jets are a fraud, Vegas hopes the public jumps on the jets

First off where did i ever say SD was better than the Jets. You need to comprehend the whole post that was written. Put down your local sports section for a minute and maybe research when they played these hard teams, what was the mindset of some of these teams when they played em, were there any injuries, weather factor, did they lay down, were they out of the playoffs,ect.ect. Simple question, if rankings mean everything you say then why did the #1 defense team in the nfc give up 50 points to Ariz.
Don't bother answering him- he's got issues. He takes things personal and likes to put everything in first person perspective and shoot others down. Do him a favor- keep him dumb and blind. Have him take the Jets cuz I need more players on the Jets. Go Jets
SD just needs to figure out the Jets run game and it will be game over. I'm leaning SD cuz taking Jets is too easy this time around. Bengals did a good job but they left receivers wide open and the FG kicker forgot how to kick. Sanchez is a rookie- all his plays are basically dumb down- shouldn't be too hard to figure it out this time around. Titans have a decent run game- look what happen when they played the Chargers.

Jets won cuz Bengals have been sucking it. Jets D did not hold down the Bengals- the Bengals lost cuz their fg kicker sucks and their D gave up big plays. Had nothing to do with the Jet's dominant D. Bengals QB was injured also. SD should be able to execute.

i'm not the New York Jets... i don't play for them or coach them... i don't even root for them unless i have money on them...
do you think i am on the Jets because i'm a homer? i hate the fucking Jets! i'm a Dolphins fan... but what the fuck does that have to do with handicapping a football game?
you are saying the SOS rating means nothing because the Jets played a few crappy teams... don't you get it? it's not my rating... it is a rating based on the ACTUAL records of the teams they played...
the Jets played in EASILY the best division in the NFL this year... the Chargers played in EASILY the worst division in the NFL this year... the Chargers literally had 7 bye weeks... their actual scheduled bye week, plus Oakland twice, KC twice, Cleveland and Washington...
don't say the rating means nothing... it means exactly what it means... that everything the Chargers did this year was done against the 27th most difficult schedule... and everything the Jets did this year was done against the 8th most difficult schedule...
you can throw it out the window if you want... but you might as well just throw your wallet out the window, too... because if you actually think the Chargers are a better football team than the Jets, then you are a sucker!
Your other posts also point out if Jets have reasonable makeable 3rd downs, Jets will make this a slug out game, but if they DO get down two scores, it's CHURCH for Jets. They need to get the ball out of SANCHEZ hands and they'll be OK. PLus they are playing SOLID DEFENSE. Everybody realizes what D wins, right?

Biased and going to the game ... the electric feel and vibe in this town is incredible ... this team is humble ready and focused, veteran core group of players been together many years, many playoff games together. They got off the mat early in the season , 11 straight although that means chit right now, beating the entire NFC East, traveling to TEN and spanking them in their own backyard. ready and battletested. now rested and ready to unleash on Sanchez. Def Coord Ron Rivera auditioning for future head coaching jobs.
Watched every single play, been to every game, hard to beat the Chargers at the Q. This team could have run up the score many a time and puffed up the stats, team before everything else. Philip is mad the MVP wasnt close, he wants his ring, he needs his ring, eli and ben already got theirs.
And we are all bettors..... Rex already printed out every practice to every day leading to the super bowl, even included his victory parade.. NOT UNTIL THE FAT LADY, SEXY REXY

I think the Chargers win BIG but thats not what the public thinks, it will be interesting to see what happens to that line on Sunday, the Chargers are a team that scores quickly, my book has the line at 7 so I'll be thing about a first half play.

After a tight and close 2 quarters, SD will COVER in 2nd Half... The SD defense is very stout and should contain the RBs. Rivers find openings in the Jet defense to open in it up!!!

What I've noticed is that it's about 50/50. There seems to be parity in posts here on Covers.
I'll probably pass on the side of this game. There are way too many variables with the overarching one being Norv Turner. If I put my money on SD, that means I'm putting confidence in Norv's ability and that makes me quite uneasy. This guy reminds me of Bobby Cox (with 1 exception of having 1 WS winner). Cox had pissed away more talent than any other coach that comes to my mind. He had great pitching, hitting, fielding etc., and he only got there once. He should have been sporting 3 of 4 rings, yet he pissed it away. Norv Turner has dogged it with tons of talent and I just can see myself showing faith in the guy. Like Bobby.
I've noticed some posters saying X team will have a letdown or they only 5 days rest, or they have to travel all the way to San Diego. That is all poo-poo. If any of those factors come into play, they better get a job serving drinks at a Gay Bar because being a wuss like that will not keep you in the NFL. And believe me when I tell you I know all about wussy men!
On another note, thank you for your kind comments yesterday Mr. Crusher13.

Bolts are toast on Sunday, this time the Chargers have met their match
Nope, cuz Rex Ryan and the Jets are coming up against a wicked Offense. SD is going to kill them. Revis is to Rivers as Cromartie is to Sanchez. I pick Rivers to do a better job, cuz he's got more targets.
