It's mainly due to betting being legalized widely in America. Those of us who had to go through your local Tony Soprano have been around long enough to learn how to lose and win.
But all these noobs are unable to accept that they aren't always going to be winners or be the lucky ones. It's bred into you over there that you will always be number one. At least you used to be expected to work hard at it, now they give out participation trophies. Even the current president cries fix whenever he loses. When he wins not a peep about a fix.
I literally posted 2 days ago and for not the first time that it makes no sense to ever NOT moneyline a favorite under 3 points. Lots of gamewinning FGs occur when a team is down one or two points. If the line is set that low it's a clue a game could be a coin flip job. And likewise always take the points if you like the dog, don't moneyline it. Some guys treat 2.5 like a PK and it's very foolish especially in the era of longer PATs and guys missing a ton of kicks (probably because they get half the practice now every coach goes on 4th down) and coaches going for 2 at weird times.
Most of these noobs would be better off just finding another hobby because it took me 10 years to become a consistent winner, and my best 3 seasons have been the last 3, which came after 20 years of this.
Those first 5 years especially were expensive lessons. I did have some friends who back then in Philly when they lost would say the fix is in, and they did eventually quit. Now I live in Europe I've never heard anyone say it once. You CAN see it's obvious at times refs will do what they can to help a team getting beat bad make it closer, and they love to throw PI or roughing on the final drive to help a team make it a tie or one score game. But then sometimes the QB will throw a pick and it's game over. Those last drive sweats are why it's gambling. And yes, they want it to be entertaining and everything come down to the wire. That's why they put all these division games the last 2 weeks. But they don't fix it for one side or the other I don't think. They make enough money not to need to do that.

It was a very vanilla thread poking fun at people who claim every excuse under the sun as to why they lost rather than examining their reasoning on making the selection in the first place.
I was verbally assaulted, called a pos and someone hoped that I would never win a game posted on Covers anymore (like that has a shot in hell of happening)
The reactions of some of these members is frightening to say the least
At least I have you to keep everything in perspective

I noticed Ron DeSantis at the UF /UK bball game sat so I started a thread just 'poking' fun at it and the thread devolved into alot of political commentary..
Thanks for your healthy attitude and perspective.

100% agreed. I still ONLY use two locals that have websites associated with them. Been that way for 20 years. Meet up every week on Thursday of next week. It's like clockwork. Cash only. It's wonderful.
