There are quite few years with bust QB's, this years crop just doesn't have the hype all those other bust QB's had!! They sucked and the media pretended like they were future HOF'ers!!
I looked at past drafts and this years crop has to be way better than the 2010 crop, that 1st round that year: #1 OVERALL was Sam Bradford and then one of the worst QB's ever, Tim "JFC" Tebow!! If Malik Willis is worse than those 2, he'll really suck.......but, IMHO, I think he's way too talented to be that kind bust!! But hey, the Packers drafted Jordan Love and until this point who the hell knows!! In 2009 Matthew Stafford was the #1 overall and then it was Mark Sanchez #5 and that was it in the first round that year!!
2011 #1 OVERALL Cam Newton, #8 Jacke Locker, and #10 Blaine Gabbert and #12 Christian Ponder!! Really people, this crop couldn't beat that garbage??
****2012**** #1 Drew Lock and #8 Ryan Tannehill!! Not bad!!
2013 EJ Emanuel #16...THAT WAS IT in the 1st round!!
2014 Blake Bortles #3 and Johnny Manziel #22 and Teddy Bridgewater #32
2015 Jameis Winston #1 overall and Marcus Mariotta #2 overall

This year's QB does not have the wow factor...None of them were like WOW in college...Corrall meh...Played in a offense that is not suitable for NFL and made to make QB's look better than they are..When he played against elite defenses..he diassapeared..... Picketts best moment was his fake slide..Willis...WTF did he do in college...At least Mariota won the heisman and carried Oregon..Winston carried FSU to a Natty....Both Winston and Mariota did not live up to the hype but both are still in the league.....lot of 1st round QB's are out the league after 4-5 years...
This years QB's is trash...Who knows maybe they develope but if you cannot dominate in college and stand out...then its a reach especially if they are projected to go top 15.. based on WHAT exactly....Pro days or combines give me film all day..

Josh Allen's senior game film was nothing to write home about , didn't play in a top tier conference......He is breaking nfl records now ...

They also said he was wildy inaccurate , didn't play in a good conference and regressed his Sr year ....
Most experts said Darnold and Mayfield were elite prospects and Allen was a project..

Exactly, the experts have bombed so often on QB's that DID play at marquee colleges and DID light it up and then turned out to be total busts!! NOBODY knows until a team selects them and coaches them up!! I still think Malik Willis can develop into a HOF'er if gets with the right coach and team!! Just look at where Brady was selected!! We can blah blah blah all we want, but actually all these draft guru's get it wrong just as much as the GM's do!!

Why u dropping Brady's name and 6th round pick for? Its an anomaly...Name me another 6th round QB that had his success...Even from the 2nd round on..The chances of succeeding in the NFL gets harder than being drafted in the 1st round or high 1st round...high 1st round you will be given every opportunity to succeed.3-4 years...2nd round...about 1-2 years if you can become the starter...Look at Drew Locke for Denver...He was OK..but not good enough and he is done as a starter....You see Winston and Mariota...They have talent and have had some success, which is why they are getting 2nd chances....

Nearly impossible to predict how any of the kids drafted will pan out...
Off hand it's rare in today's game that only 1 qb is drafted in the first round....This class on paper was weak , have to check back in 3-5 years ...

"In order to analyze this we first need to set our time-frame (I chose 1990 to present) and then define “success”.
Defining a successful pick at QB is difficult because success varies based upon draft position, but if you are drafted in the first half of the first round, you are expected to start immediately in the modern NFL (this changed around 2007 roughly) and you are only a successful pick if you are multi-year starter at QB for the team that drafted you. You could argue that you are not a successful pick at QB in the top 16 unless you are a multi-year starter on a winning team, but I will not make that argument"
One guy's study on it for reference:
QB's drafted 1990-2016 pick success %
1-16 81%
17-32 65%
2nd round 48%
3rd round 25%
4th round 13%
5th round 6%
6th round 16%
7th round 6%

Josh Allen took a step back in his senior season before the draft, and yet still coming out of the Mountain West, most "experts" knew he was the best prospect. The only reason he fell to you guys instead of going first to Cleveland was because of some dumb ass old, teenage tweets that surfaced literally on Draft Day
So if you are going to interject the Bills into every conversation, can it with the manufactured underdog stories. Acting as if the Bills were the only team that saw the potential of Josh Allen. Like they took a flier.

Both views are sort of correct. Of course, everyone knew about Allen. They also felt that he would be a project. Mayfield coming from a better system helped him. Jackson was questioned on how he would do at the next level. The issue always came down to Allen not being accurate. The other issue was him not showing he was great when playing against lesser talent. Another thing in the back of minds was Wentz -- because he came out of a similar situation. These were the issues well before draft day. Darnold was their early preference, I think. He just didn't stand out as much down the stretch. Then the Browns had to decide which QB to take and decided on Mayfield because of his accuracy and leadership at an elite program. So, when it came to Buffalo they felt like Allen could have the right blend of arm strength and potential they could work with.
It may not have been a 'flier' but they knew he would potentially be a 'project'.

The Browns were locked in on Allen until tweets came out on draft day. They didn't say, "Well, Baker was more accurate, bigger moments for a bigger program..." They were locked in. Some old tweets surfaced, they went with Baker.

Probably a 98% chance the BILLS leaked the those old tweets just days before the draft....
Local media outlets always try to corner GM Brandon Beane about it , his responses are always hilarious...In one TV interview with with either Steve Tasker or John Murphy , he covers his eyes and ears ,and then responds with " I know nothing " Before laughing ...
Several front office employees said they were trying to trade up to #2 , But after the tweets they figured 6 or 7 was high enough to get Allen .
