Hey young so is it classless when a team is losing and they punch in a garbage touchdown since noone is playing but they are still driving hard?

the misconception is that it is classless at all to run up the score on anybody...

This is the Fucking NFL, PRO FOOTBALL, you get paid millions to play defense... 

Shame on the Fucking Falcons for not defending better on that drive and not relishing the fact that they could have played spoiler in that situation and sent every single one of those fans home disappointed despite a 30+ pt home win...

No,the team trailing is still trying to win and needs points to do so,the Saints would be running the ball and taking knees in this position if Brees wasn't going for the record,that is why I think it was a shit way to break the record,because it didn't happen in the flow of the game.

o.k let me guess loser, you had to play against Brees in fantasy football and you lost, other than that i dont see why anyone would get upset about it, anybody with 1/2 a brain knew he wanted to set the record on the big stage monday night football in front of his home crowd, everyone seemed to understand what was going on the announcers, the falcons, the fans keeping track of the yards, Drew Brees is a class act and if anyone deserved it, it was him....

You are right man.  The NFL has become a video game.  The league is so stat hungry because everyone's jobs and paychecks depend on it.  It's quite sad, but it happens all over the league.  That's why when you see a play like Brian Westbrook a few years ago, where he takes a dive going in for a sure TD, its such a rarity.  These players are all about themselves, so its no shocker.

Rodgers did the same thing last night.  4 TD's of 7 yards or less.  No RB had more than 8 or 9 carries.  They just kept forcing passes on the goal line, just so that discount double check gets the MVP and breaks Favre's records.

I agree and I should have worded my point better,I am not talkiong about them running it up so much as I am talking about throwing the ball in general just to break a record,IMO it was classless to do,especially when he could do it next week without making it look cheap and forced.

1k doesn't bother me all that much,would you prefer I lie like most guys here and say that I had the Saints but still think it was a shitty way to get the record? I lost my bet by the 3rd fucking qtr,

why break it next sunday when he can break it now and then raise the bar a little bit more next week. think about it, it took more than two decades to break it so if i was brees, i would top it even more.

Funny shit will be when he doesn't play next week because they locked up the 4 seed and Brady sets the single season mark because he will play to try and lock up home field advantage.If Brees plays next week now,he is a record and stats craving person

I had Falcons tonight and was far from upset (far more upset with Xmas night Lovie).  Falcons were man-handled by the omni potent Saints and Falcons were going to start their hangover early.  They knew Brees' record was on the menu and set the table for this beat down and the Falcon's medicine was thus imminent.  Oh yeah, didn't they have a flood there or something and that city's collective soul was as badly in shambles as the Superdome.  So these are the good times for the Saints and it's deserving fans. New Orleans has had their shit pie.  Saints are a steamroller and make no apologies for giving their fans another reason to feel good and have pride.

I give him major props for the season and career he is having but tonight wasn't the right thing to do IMO. Maybe,maybe if it was the last week of the season I could understand it but he could have played 1 series next week and accomplished the same thing.  I am done with this conversation. 1) thats what the Saints do, Throw the ball.
2) I'm sure ESPN encouraged them to try to get the record on Monday night, especially as much as they hyped it all night.
3) Payton wanted to get the record behind them tonight so they could concentrate on the playoffs.
4) and most important, These two teams are each others biggest rivals and they don't like each other at all. And I'm sure all Saints fans remember the 66-3 or so beat down the Falcons put on the Saints back 25 yrs or so that really kick started this intense rivalry. I know I haven't.

so many cry babies every time teams throw a bunch and score points... that's the way the league is now duhhhhh.
Throwing the ball is their offense, it's the pats offense too, and GB.. every time the pats go for it on 4th down up 21, it's whine whine whine.

Nothing classless about any of it.. if it screwed ur bet at some point, then you weren't on the right side.  Teams with good coaches don't go into a prevent and run run run, punt anymore, have to factor that into ur picks.
