Due to the slow night and the request by K, we are going to get this out early to begin discussion since tonight is a snoozer. Really special card tomorrow night.
Game of the Night: Big Bad Bear visits MSG and wearing their "drunk teddy bear" uni's according to Boo. The last 10 games have been pretty equal with the Rangers winning 5 of 10. In the last 10 games, the UNDER has hit 7 times, including 3 at MSG. Pretty sure we will see Igor vs Ullmark. BTW, no word yet on Swayman. B's have called up Kinkaid.
Heavy Game of the Night: Preds vs Flames. The 7th straight home game for the Flames after losing the last 2 at home (they have to be pissed). You take away the Preds two wins in Europe, they are 1-6-1 the last 8 (they have to be pissed). Preds have actually have a 2-0-1 record vs Flames last 3.
High Flying Game of the Night: The new and improved Devils visit the Oil. The over is 6 of the last 9. Even before the Devils found an offense, they avg. 3.10 GF/GM vs Oil. The Oil avg. 3.80 GF/GM. I don't see this stopping. See if you can get a good line and price tonight as I expect the over to get pounded.
The Red Hot Golden Knights travels to the Pesky Sens, losers of 3 straight. Vegas won last year in Ottawa 5-2. This should be another high flying game. Check the status of Brassard as he left the game in Tampa. We get the Canes visiting Tampa and it doesn't make the Games of the Night. Neither team has lived up to their billing. Canes are 3-0-1 the last 4 vs Bolts and 4 of the last 6 games in Tampa has been unders. The wounded but surprisingly in every game Caps travel to Motown. The Wings were last seen getting humiliated by the Swords. The Caps are 8-0-2 last 10 vs Wings and 4 of the last 6 in Detroit has been unders.
Habs visits Jets. Jets are 2-0-1 last 3 vs Habs. Interesting, Bowness came out today calling his team sluggish. Jets are ranked 24th in shot attempts and 29th in expected goals. On their recent West trip, they were outshot 54 to 95 at 5 v 5. Should we expect more firepower from the Jets at home tonight? Blues? Favorites over the Isles? GM Armstrong went to the locker room Tuesday and delivered what is being called as a "reality check" then he addressed the media. So wonder what affect this will have on the team. Isles are playing good and Sorokin is way better than Binnington. Are the Sea Monsters for real? Has the Wild righted the ship? Will need to check starting goalies on this one tomorrow. Kings and their flying around offense travels to Chicago where they are down to one goalie (or will Mrazek be available). Funny, when the Kings are on, they are on and when they are not, they just aren't.
Stars visit the Mullett. That place has to be rocking with all those college kids after beating Florida. Dont' sleep on the Yotes completely. The games I have seen them play, they have been in them. Ducks keep flying? Bruce coaching for his job in this one? How bad are the Nucks? Jeez. Finally, Florida does not need to be -225 to anyone at this time.
Fill in the blanks. What do you want to talk about?

Skinner is 2-1 with a 1.59 GA and .955% and he's done that vs Flames (twice) Blues and Buffalo, SOLID competition. The most he has given up in a game was 3 vs Buffalo.

Yea Skinners numbers are solid to start the season and the Devils are very stingy defensively. If Blackwood can play similar to last night’s game the under has a shot. I still lean Devils in this matchup but want to look at the trends still. Nice write up Doc!

I want to lean the Blues but really have to see them come out of this funk. Armstrong's speech could produce a negative affect in the locker room. Isles are playing well, with recent wins vs Canes and Avs.

I personally think Husso should be their No. 1 so I expect him tomorrow night. The Wings have talent and were just down right embarrassed by the Swords the other night. I think they will have pride and what better time to do that vs the MASH unit Caps. And let's not forget, the Caps played in Raleigh Monday, home Tuesday and now in Detroit on Thursday. 3 in 4. I am talking myself into the Wings as I type.

Don't count the Yotes out as underdogs, they are 3-3-1 OT since beating the Leafs and have been competitive of late ,might be an idea to give them +1.5?

I agree with you on Husso being their 1 and also agree they are a better team than what they have shown so far. I look at the Blues in the same light, they should be much better than they are playing but with that said it’s hard to guess when they will decide to turn things around. I think them upsetting the Caps is definitely within question I’d personally just prefer to wait and see them perform better and then wager on subsequent games after that point.

Dogs I might invest in small: Quacks, Kraken, Sharks
Got tickets to Sharks game, so I have to wager on the homeies. place looks half empty according to Ticket master, so bought nosebleeds, and plan to move down to first row upper level once game starts.

Generally speaking it’s hard to bet on a team on a loosing streak (Sens) even they played really hard at Tampa… was watching the game till the end of second when the sport bar in Fla was closing at 9pm so I missed capping the 3 rd period when everything happened… well … it’s more a let down of the Knights even I really liked what I saw from the Sens …. My heart is with you on that one my head is not …. If not synchronized then no bet for me… I can’t figure out the Caps …. Only thing I know Names don’t win the games ( unless you are the Bruins) , it’s the coaching, effort, leadership combined with talent… that does ( unlike the Leafs) .. Devils and Oil … 7 o/u …. This game could be 2:1 or 6:5 .., best sides are teams winning at least 3 and scoring at least 3 and both teams are doing just that …. No edge in that game ….

First of all, what type of damn Sports Bar closes at 9p.m. in Florida? Are you at the Villages . I don't like to bet losing streaks but I think if you pick your spots it can be profitable. Both the Blues and Pens are too good and veteran to continue on 5 game losing streaks. Agreed with the Devils/Oil game. We all thought the Devils/Avs game would be a scoring fest and look how that turned out. Ha, just gave everyone food for thought.

Villages??…. At first glance 3 goals a game and 3 game winning streak … Almost Buffalo, Seattle…. Knights, Oil, Devils, RAgs, Bruins…. I know and understand spots but knowing a team score if at least 3 in 4 of 5 you are asking your team at that spot to score more…. That’s your bet …you may s well bet over 3.5 goals on your team because that’s what they will need for W…. The exception was Calgary yesterday…. By the way I changed bars …. They had only the Bruins game on … great 3rd period…. Great write up…. Good luck …. I love to poke a bear and love underdogs , spots or whatever but look at yesterdays…. We though Knick’s and Preds for whatever reason would be a good bet…. Oil and Devils were 3 and 3 …. Once upon a time some vise man told me …. You want to go against streaks then wait for them to loose the last game and then go agains next 3 ….

Interesting that the Kings have already had one road trip where they played 3 in 4 nights. At Minnesota, at Detroit and at Nashville and won all 3 games so it's in them. The Capitals have already had one to start the season, lost the first two and the final win was vs the Habs.
