I am back on that struggle bus. Damn. Didn't watch a single play last night. Vegas road warriors (take note). Thought the Isles would pull it out. Ovi went crazy last night. Should Anaheim be down graded to an AHL team?
Onto tonight briefly. Pesky Sens another -200 favorite? Check Habs IR. Drouin and Caufield listed a as ?. Stutzle is labeled as OUT. Series is 5-5 and O/U is 4-5-1, with the last 3 meetings going 2-0-1 in O/U. No play for me. Wings visit the Wild. Wild listed at -250. Larkin is OUT tonight. Wild are 6-3-1 last 10 vs Wings. While the Wild is 3-1 vs Wings at home last 4. Hmmmm. Wings are 3-0 in b2b games this year. Nucks visit the Flames, who are returning from a terrible road trip. Flames are 7-3 last 10 vs Nucks and the O/U is 6-2-2 last 10 with the last 3 going over the total. Flames are 4-1 last 5 meetings in Calgary.
I am sticking to my AHL plays that I put in Monday and that is it. What do you want to talk about?

Dogs might be best bet for a while as teams try to climb or stay alive in standings. How bout a 6 goal period from Buffalo....to bad neither team could muster 1 more this ole dumdum

Some Sens leanings here, and you guys might be right. It’s possible they are building a bit of Momentum here...Chabot playing a little better, goaltending evening out a bit...but it is the Sens.
There was what, 4 shutouts last night? Seems crazy. It just seems like a lot of inconsistency night over night in team play. That’s bad for bettors!!
"Goaltending is 90 percent of the game, unless you don't have it. Then it's 100 percent."-

Watched the 3rd period of Jets/Knights. Jets had it but blew it with 2 straight penalties and the Knights PP was freakin deadly. Jets got a PP late to tie it and it was a very good one but couldn’t bury it. Credit to the Knights, they looked real strong. Jets played a strong 3rd period. Real fun game.
Isles almost had it but their 3 on 3 game is terrible (or Boston’s is that good).
Sweating out that Chi TT was awful. I put 4x the amount on that vs my POTD. Too stressful but glad it hit. Never touching Chicago again.
I lean mostly faves today except in the Ottawa game. I have a very strong lean on a total in Wild game. Just need to see goalies

I had Thrashers last night and the way the game was playing out...the moment they scored on their PP at the beginning of the 3rd period I live bet the Golden Showers at +325 enough to cover my bet and then some.
This is something I am doing so much more this year. If a team gets a 2 goal lead...I often will now throw a third or half unit on the other team at +300 or better odds because the amount of multiple goal leads being blown even in the 3rd period this season has been staggering to me.

Great idea. I honestly try hedging with a late play on the Knights because of how the game was going but then a penalty was called on the Thrashers and the odds got steep quick. I need to consider “getting ahead” of it like you did.

one thing a friend told me, when playing parlays..take whatever you were going to bet on it, and split it in half..make two of the same ticket, so you can cash one out for your money back on both bets + a small amount of profit if you dont like the way game is going. I cashed one out for +0.25u profit on the ticket before the isle went into OT..isle lost and would have lost my 1 unit wager..
When you win, its a bit sour tasting as you could have possibly won more, but its a nice way to let the last leg of your parlay ride sweat free with your wager plus some profits back already.

Had a whole write-up for why I like the Canucks tonight and why the other two games are mismatches that I don't want to consider. Not that those dogs can't bark, just that I don't like the situations. So then I signed out of Covers to go to NHL.com for stats...and the write-up was gone...GRRRRRRR and WTH???
Bottom line (first) VAN ML +155
Not playing it til I see that Spencer Martin is confirmed in goal.
Both teams pretty evenly matched and VAN is playing better since November (game results). CGY/VAN 5th/6th in the Pacific and 4 pts apart/other stats show not much difference. And Sutter hopes/thinks "Marky" is coming around. Flames definitely got the worst of "the trade", so far, and losing JHockey was also huge loss.
MTL off a tough Monday 2-1 SO win at home vs CGY, and now facing the Pesky Sens who won at home 3-0 on Monday vs ANA. Talbot likely, and with good stats.
DET off a tough 3-2 OTL Saturday in Big D, then a 1-0 home loss vs CAR last night, now hopping a plane to St Paul to face the Wild who just had a Monday 2-1 home win vs EDM. Gustavsson in goal with very good stats.
Original write-up was more detailed...my bad...but again...I gotta go with Gabby and his Canucks.
Cheers and BOLTA whichever way and whichever team(s)

Right...at the end of the day its all about money management and making money. Sometimes...I will play against my last leg of a parlay in order to assure a profit...especially if I don't like how the game is unfolding.
Last night...I was on Isles at +210 but could never really get anything worthwhile to hedge. Plus...I was comfortable with the Isles possibly pulling that game out so I ended up losing the whole wager.
I have to say...I only did this occasionally in years past but this year...doing it on an almost regular basis because of the no lead is safe scenarios we have been seeing. Once we settle down to more defensive minded games as we get closer to playoffs...I tend to not use this angle much at all. Best for high scoring low defense types of games/teams.

No NHL for me tonight. Don't like the card. Instead, let's pull for the B teams of the Isles, Preds and Nucks. Caught the Preds b-team Monday at -130 and now it's -180. And for those that want to think ahead, those B's b-teamers Friday is a steal right now. Don't really understand that line but I am sprinkling now. On another note, I think Wedgewood is getting a conditioning start tonight in Utica. It will be interesting to see how he does.
