All the Leaf haters here in this forum

You guys make me laugh. All season long you cut the shit out of the Leafs because you say most, if not all their players are shitty. Then they trade half of the bums away and you go on to say that the trades were horrible and what was Burke thinking ect.

Lets just think for a minute, Blake and Toskela for Giguere. An absolute steal for the Leafs. We get rid of Blake's huge contract and Toskela who really never cared about shit as a Leaf, for a guy who is a great in the dressing room, will instill confidence throughout the team and has been through it all before.

I no it was is only 1 game but Phaneuf is a beast and by far was the best player involved in the Calgary trade. He was underachieving this year because he fucking hates the Sutter's with a passion. Leaf haters here were actually saying that Phaneuf is finished at the age of 24...that is friggin funny shit. It looks like Sjostrom will help the PK and he is a very fast skater and brings lots of enthusiasm. The young dman they picked up has a chance to become a pretty good NHL player.

The Leafs gave up Mayers (bum) Stajan (wasn't returning next year anyways) and Hagman and White who are decent players but nothing special. Hagman has a bigtime reputation of having a good week and then he disappearing for a month.

To me both these trades were well done by Burke and if he can pluck a couple of goal scorers in the offseason, this team might not be to far off.

Same old crap.  Leafs win a game and now the parade is back on again.

If you watched the game you would have seen Phaneuf is a defensive liability.

And Giguere wasn't tested once...I'm not labelling Giguere a bad pickup...just saying don't make him out to be a #1 goalie again just yet.

This shits getting pretty old 

Time for the Leafs and their fans (me included) to shut up and let the product on the ice speak for itself

I not holding my breath though, if history repeats itself, we should have a competitive team sometime between 2020-25 ... you do the math

Until he proves he's worth 6.25 million a season, don't go spouting off how they won the trade. The Leafs are spending now over 20mil a season just on 5 d-men...and they have the worst defensive game in the league.

They picked up a monster contract for one player, and Ian White had similar stats (albeit not as good as Dion) for 1/8 the price.

Bottom line is the Leaf haters were saying these deals were horrible for the Leafs and I just happen to disagree.

Leafs, he had 6 or 7.  I will go play by play and break it down if someone gives me the whole video.

And sadly he had time in all of those giveaways.

Toskala had alot to do with our shitty goals against as well. I'm not sure how much you watch hockey but there is alot more to a  defensive game than the dmen themselves.

How is he one of the best D-men in the league? He was #4 or 5 on Cgy's Depth chart, didn't make team Canada, was a minus rating on a good team last year.

That is laughable and why nobody takes the Leafs seriously.

Toskala has a 2.5 GAA in first season with the Leafs with crappy D.

Gustavsson hasn't been any better. Or any goalie since Belfour?  Maybe its not the goalie but the fact their D is slow and make poor decisions.

Bro read any article about Giguere yesterday....the headlines were "ZZZZZZZZ's"

He could have slept and made all 30 of those saves....not a single one was high quality.

And just because Dion had turnovers doesn't mean they all resulted in shots against Giguere...only one or two did...the rest were just harmless giveaways.

Well according to all the so called media experts, Phaneuf is a younger version of a Brian McCabe and if you're familliar with McCabe, I can see many simularities between the two ...

They are the same player except Phaneuf has more of a physical presence then McCabe.

But on the flip side, Dion is pegged as a primadonna cancer in the locker room.

When your own teammates give you the nickname "Two-Twenty" you have problems.

bottom line...leafs got a stud in  Dion and a very capable NHL netminder who's twice the the goaler theleafs have had since eddie belfour a cripes... you watch...giggy and Allere are beack together...prepare for some crow leafs haters
